  1. But the Sibling was sleeping during the Weeping? And lots of evidence (not on me but through the gem archives in the OB) they kind of imply that the Sibling is somehow connected the Urithiru. Do you have evidence to support your theory because I'd be interested to know your thinking behind it.
  2. @Mailnaise Here is you bane, Stormlight 4 will be released but when you go to read it, buy it or borrow it, it is unavailable or you can't find it meaning you will never get to see it. (this excludes stormlight 5 and so on...) I wish to live a fulfilling life
  3. It is a very interesting observation. In WoK, I didn't think Sly was protecting Kaladin but rather his abilities with the surges was protecting him from the flying debris. Sly can't really manipulate/ touch anything in the real world so I don't know how she would be able to help. The storm itself isn't harmful unlike the Everstorm but it is the debris that is hurtled and thrown during it that is harmful. But the OB moment with Kaladin protecting the people was most likely due to do with either him learning the words for the fourth ideal (as in learning/ getting an idea of the words could be but not actually knowing them) or it was him using his order's surges in a unique way. Like using gravity to split the storm or slow it. (I always pictured it like the scene in Avatar the Last Airbender with Katara when..
  4. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE EFFORT!! I'll be printing these off with other quotes to have my client put them together to see if he can see the charactisation of characters and the unique voice of each
  5. @Xavier Iriarte Oh please do and thank you
  6. He's not or at least for not he's not but I like that point. Maybe his massive role in the books will be to unite the three shards?
  7. And if it is any to go off, one of the ending scenes in Oathbringer acts like the avengers assemble scene because of spoiler reasons however the dustbringer theory you mentioned I can't wrap my head around it. (as in i'm dumb and don't know how to even approach the question)
  8. I’ve seen this post so much and every time I see it I think. Who do I ship? I have been pondering on it for days and have come to the conclusion that I ship Jasnah with herself. Jasnah is in her 30s (don’t quote me on that) and seems too focused on her work. That isn’t a bad thing but I feel like that if she was interested in love, she would have shown affection towards someone else. She is too focused on her studies and research to bother with love, probably doesn’t see what the big deal is. Exactly the same with her heretic status which I have noticed she fails to realise one of the reasons that religion exists is to teach love. However she obviously does love her family but was willing to kill family members. Showing she is willing to throw away love if it furthers her work or supports her conclusions. She hates taking on wards because she is so driven and feels like they won’t reach her strandards which are insanely high. I just can’t see her having a love interest at all. And really she is a strong person who doesn’t need someone else to fill her life. She is her own person. Therefore I ship Jasnah with Jasnah.
  9. Are these direct quotes? They are perfect though do you know some of when other people are describing him? Same for when Kaladin describes a another character if Kaladin is your favourite
  10. THanks friend it is on my list to read but I really do need the storm light ones like I have some but not many because it is easier to teach and explain something you know rather than what you don't know
  11. I haven't read those yet But I need direct quotes for the exercise as in exerts. I'llcheck the coppermind but last time i looked they didn't have what I wanted in particular
  12. oh no son, a lot of people got annoyed with her. But they preferred Shallan rather than her other personas. You are most certainly not alone. It gets a lot better so read on, you less of her chapters
  13. Hello all. I’m sorry that I post a lot but I’m addicted. But anyway. I am a social support worker and I have been working with this kid (who has ADHD and possibly on the spectrum) in helping him plan and write characters and story elements. He likes to write open world stories but lacks comprehensive understanding other people’s emotions. Thus his character writing isn’t the best. So I promised him I’d bring quotes from Sanderson’s work to show how multilayered the characters are. The reason why is because they both do similar things as in writing expansive worlds and such. However I can’t pinpoint quotes I want to use. Can anyone help? Quotes that I’m looking for is how the character describes themselves and how others perceive them. The characters I’m looking for are Kaladin, Shallen, Jasnah, Renarin, Adolin or Dalinar. Or anyone who has enough quotes like that. I’m trying to stay away from Mistborn because I’m trying to encourage him to read those for observation and learning purposes.
  14. Bro I'm literally going to follow you for them updates because I can;t compete with that amazing timeline
  15. Good use of meme XD
  16. Ohhh that makes sense. I thought the actual island was connected to both realms which is why she was poisoned but thank you for clearing that up
  17. I'm a bit late to this party but Aimia is the place where that King's sister turned herself into smoke? I remember reading that section and how it is described, sounds like a place where Shadesmar/ cognitive realm connect to the physical realm/ Roshar. I remember the mention of black clouds and weird creatures that looked like spren. I don't remember much but it literally sounded like a in between world. I don;t know if this helps your theory or not but thought I should add my thoughts to help prove your possible theory
  18. That looks so cool! I should make something like that too, to help the time go faster
  19. I bloody despise Moash, his need for vengeance without knowing all the details drive me up the flipping wall. Every time you think “oh maybe he will redeem himself” he grabs that knife and shoved so far in your stomach it ruptured your spleen. At this point I don’t think even if he got redeemed, I couldn’t stand him. But I also agree with whoever said Ilia for all the same reasons.
  20. No it wouldn’t. They get released the same time just two books, part 1 and part 2. All my stormlight books are split into two
  21. Reading everyone’s favourite orders is so fascinating. Seeing people being able to distinguish the order they want to be in vs the one they actually are is cool to see. With elsecallers and sky breakers I’m seeing a different side to those orders that I would not have noticed without people being interested in them
  22. Just shows. You can subvert someone’s perception
  23. Both, enlighten me. Fill me with knowledge
  24. That's a pretty unique one! I don't see much of the potentional of an elsecallers surge but you do so it makes so much sense that you like that order
  25. I can't say much about the first part of your post because that will spoil but that pattern bad feeling is interesting. What makes you say that?
