  1. Aedoin had drawn so many Aons, his arms hurt. At least, he thought they did, he wasn't really sure of anything anymore. He had come back to find the pheonix hammering the city. He had wasted no time in drawing transportation Aons to evacuate the people. Valdwen had also helped by compounding steel and running them to safety. I wasn't enough, a storm was about to break. He had felt the tremors for a while now, and really wasn't sure when it would happen, but it would happen. Valdwen looked askance at Aeodin as he laughed maniacally. Maybe he's still a little insane Valdwen thought as Aeodin screamed something about tremors. Well, as long as it didn't effect his efficiency.
  2. Aeodin saw the world. He was also insane. With nothing external but reciting a mantra, not to mention being insane, his mind had time to wander. He looked up and saw Valdwen's mournful face, and discounted it as irrelevant. He thought of all the reasons he had to live. His wife, Shaona, whom he didn't tell many people about. Heck, it probably wasn't even on his character sheet. Valdwen was one of the few who knew. He looked up again, and something about his friends face triggered something. He had to fight. Had. To. Live. Valdwen looked down, and instead of the peace he expected to see, Aeodin's face was a turmoil of emotion. Suddenly instant clarity arose on his face like the rising sun. With sudden animation, he leaped from the pool and stood up straight. "Had a lot of time to think," he said, "When you're insane, a few seconds feels like a thousand years. We need to get back to the city." And with that, he drew two Aons to transport them back.
  3. wow, impressive @Podman36. It took me a good ten minutes to make it to the end. I was quite surprised when it finally ended, I kept trying to open the last spoiler. I'm not going back and reading through the four or five pages I missed.
  4. Valdwen looked up, though his vision was hazy. He looked around, and realized that they were in a shimmering barrier made by Aon Edo. So he was able to draw it. Valdwen's memories of the past few minutes were hazy, but from what he could remember... He looked at his friend, and immediately frowned with worry. Aeodin was muttering quitely to himself. When Valdwen addressed him, Aeodin yelled, "No! You will wait to address me!! Does a King on his throne not deserve respect!?!?" Valdwen nodded slowly. Three hundred years of mental stress, and finally Earth-shattering emotional allomancy. His friend's mind had snapped. It would have happened sooner or later, but thanks to the one in the armor, Aeodin was prematurely hoed. "Come, Aeodin, we must find Sephtis." "No, I deserve respect, you will bow. I deserve respect, you will bow..." The mantra of the hoed. Valdwen carried Aeodin—the Elantrian was surprisingly light—towards an alley. He laid the man down, and used his alley to travel back to Sel. He used the perpendicularity to make it back to the physical realm, and prepared to lay Aeodin down in it. He bowed his head in mourning, picked up his friend, and set him down in the shallow pool.
  5. The wave of emotional pain ripped through Valdwen, and he was reduced to a pile of motionless meat on the ground. Aeodin, being far older, took it better. As it was, it still drove him to his knees. He reached out a shaky hand to draw the Aon Edo, but failed and collapsed completely.
  6. Wait. You know hitchhikers guide?!?! Best book ever, other than Brandon's of course.
  7. Aeodin finished fiddleing with the stone and hung it around his neck.
  8. Aeodin, still in his hiding place, fiddled with a small stone as Valdwen recovered.
  9. A wave of fire blasted them both back. Aeodin could heal... but Valdwen was badly burned. Aeodin transported them both away, then healed Valdwen as best he could. Never did have healing talent.
  10. Valdwen and Aeodin were pulled to Solace's location immediately. Aeodin instantly drew Aon Daa aimed at Hellbent. A flash of destructive power moved towards Hellbent at alarming speeds. Valdwen swallowed an earring. He then tapped speed and skirted around Hellbent and came at him from behind.
  11. Valdwen didn't know what happened, but before he knew it he was in the sky. He tapped a bit of mental speed, and the world slowed around him. He dropped a coin to slow his fall, but realized he'd be in the same position as before. He traveled to his alley, and jumped to a safe place from there. Aeodin found himself in a nightmare. He quickly traveled away using his alley--it was faster--and tried in vain to locate Valdwen.
  12. Hello all. Making a fool of myself in the alleyverse like always. At least I'm winning here.
  13. "Maybe we should go down there, swear allegiance formally" remarked Aeodin. "Maybe, I don't like crowds. Too many people with too much investiture." Answered Valdwen Even so, the air warped, and a silver skinned man appeared next to Solace. A blurred shape fell out of a building and sped towards Solace. As soon as he arrived, the Elantrian drew Aon Edo around the pair. Instantly, a shimmering barrier cut them off from the crowd. They both knelt and swore allegiance to the one called Solace.
  14. Aeodin, per Valdwen's request, drew Aon Kii in the air, and pointed it at Solace. If he wasn't protected against such things--doubtless he was--it would cause him to feel pain if he was guilty. If that failed, he then drew two Aon Nae's, which allowed them to see Solace more clearly.
  15. "Ahh" Valdwen said, peering out of the building into the square. "Now, we wait..." said Aeodin
  16. Aeodin quickly took the initiative, and drew Aon Shao in the air. Add a few modifiers here and there, and suddenly the two men disappeared from sight... Edit: Under a veil of invisibleness, Aeodin drew two Aon Tia's in the air, with exactly the same modifiers. Both Aeodin and Valdwen grabbed hold of the Aon's and were enveloped in a flash of light. Transported somewhere unknown...
  17. Why thank you. I wonder what that screaming echoing off the walls of alley 5324 is??? Hmm, well, we have more information in the name of science...
  18. I think a few of his books could be turned into a movie and/or video game.
  19. Before Aeodin could stop him, the younger man called out, "Solace is the rightful leader of the ghostbloods!!" Slowly, as one, the entire mob looked towards the two men. "I'm not with him," said Aeodin.
  20. Valdwen shook his head slowly, it was hardly a surprise. "Solace is outnumbered three to one." Aeodin pointed out. "Yes," Said Valdwen, Eyeing Hellbent, "Come Aeodin"
