  1. Truly the best technique in the game.
  2. One of the best books I read in high school, right under The Great Gatsby.
  3. Chapter 293 initial thoughts: So, what happens next? Future Arc Predictions:
  4. When someone say's "I'm going through a hard time/struggling with some stuff" and your first thought is "Oh I hope they like fantasy because I have just the book for them!"
  5. Vault comics or Sanderson's store are the only two places as far as I'm aware. I'm not sure what you mean by "good quality" however. I have mine and it seems fine. You may get unlucky and get a torn/misprinted copy, but Sanderson and the store are usually really good at replacing those.
  6. How do you feel about Second Sister?
  7. Interesting! Song could work really well too, and create for some really fun fusions and first contacts. This is me throwing stuff against the wall, but what if perception was a key to how things work as well? How tragic would it be for a person to try and warp to their partner, only discover they can't because their partner loathes them? Or there's a secret society of those who are tone-deaf or color-blind can use the magic in really cool world-breaking ways, because they can reach places and do things that were previously thought impossible? (I.e., Purple makes people more depressed (drawing from Green Lantern here), and someone was put in a "blue room" to keep them calm, then this red-yellow colorblind person can use the blue in the room as purple because that's how they see it.)
  8. I love both, but Era 1 is my favorite.
  9. Fan service can be a great thing, and I recognize my feelings about this episode seem to be in the minority. My full thoughts:
  10. Watched today's episode this morning while procrastinating from some homework. Overall, it was my least favorite episodes this season by far, and possibly my least favorite in the show.
  11. Lol! Krayt Dragon Pearls are from Legends however. It's possible KOTOR inspired Brandon, though, assuming he's played the game.
  12. Note by latest you actually mean upcoming, as it hasn't been released yet. So for those wondering, THIS IS FROM CHAPTER 293 TO BE RELEASED DECEMBER 5, 2020.
  13. Gavinor isn't loyal enough for that just yet. He knows Moash killed his father, and he wants revenge. Navani and Dalinar both note how unsettling it is for a child his age, but they try to curb it the best they can. But I could see TOdium twisting the words to be loyal: Come with me and you can get revenge on the man who killed your father. (Loyalty to family and vengeance.) Come with me and you won't have actually fight your family (technically true, since they won't fight him). (Loyalty to family, as there's no fight.) Come with me and I will make you King of Alethkar/give you your homeland back. (Loyalty to kingdom.) Not only does that sound like something TOdium would do (maybe not Rayse, but definitely Taravangian), it also would give us room to explore childhood traumas in the back half, and how they affect people, along with characters like Lift, Renarin, and Jasnah. Fair point. And then Odium still wins. I'm thinking there may be an out if Dalinar is able to move the Connection of things around, switching Gavinor's Connection as Odium's Champion to himself and his Connection as Honor's Champion (and his Connection to Honor itself) to someone else (I'm thinking Kaladin, but it doesn't have to be), and then sacrifices himself in order to make TOdium lose. This fits with Dalinar's arc of giving up something of status to reach a greater height: his Shardblade for his honor and the position of Highprince of War, his second Shardblade to become a Radiant, his title as highprince to become a high-king of sorts, and now it would be his position as Bondsmith to become a savior. If (and yes, I know it's a big if. But I like crackpot theories, so I'm running with it for now) that does happen, I'm thinking what may happen after is that Odium would have a brief time to do what he'd like for a moment before being sent back to Braise and locked away - yes, the rules were broken/changed, but Odium still had a Champion who died and lost, so he still loses the Contest. Regardless, whatever Odium does during that time would set the course for the second arc of Stormlight IMO. A second, related, SUPER crackpot theory would be Odium acting out in hate and Taravangian realizing he can save the world if he makes the power act against Kharbranth, the one place he wanted - and Odium promised - to save. If the power breaks a deal, he's wounded, and maybe could be splintered, allowing us to defeat the Shard of Odium once and for all. It would be a sort of bitter irony, in a way. The one think that Taravangian fought so hard to protect turns out to be the one thing he needs to sacrifice in order to be save the world. I'm basing it off of a Death Rattle, but admittedly the Rattle could mean a lot of things:
  14. I was originally on the "Shallan's Baby or Oroden potentially" track, but I think I'm switching to Gavinor. Gavinor is old enough to willingly agree to stuff, and I could easily see him being tempted into being Odium's Champion if Odium promises to let the kid kill Moash and says the child won't have to fight anyone (since Dalinar and crew won't kill a child, so they'd have to forfeit, meaning that Odium was technically right). Sacrifice a powerful piece to win the war and all that jazz. However, what if Dalinar gives up his bond and powers? Is he still a representative of Honor if he doesn't hold the powers or ability?
  15. Oh absolutely. But what I meant is that when I read it, I read it as Teft actually being there. As in, he was hugging Kaladin while Kaladin was hugging Tien. It was weird yet very sweet. Now I see I was just misreading Tien, but at the time...I don't know what I was thinking.
  16. So there's a spin-off series called My Hero Academia: Team Up Mission, where the cast of students team up with heroes to do gain experience. You wanted to see Deku and Mirko interact? Here you go! How would Hatsume react to Melissa Shield (YES THEY BRING HER BACK)? RAFO! It takes place after the Culture Festival, so if you've finished Season 4 you should be okay, but I'd recommend catching up on the manga before starting, as there might be slight spoilers (in the 3.5 chapters I've read). It started in 2019 it hasn't been officially translated by Viz yet. I hear they're starting to do so soon, but still. Here's the information: https://bokunoheroacademia.fandom.com/wiki/My_Hero_Academia:_Team-Up_Missions https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manga/MyHeroAcademiaTeamUpMission
  17. Humorously, when I first read the scene, could have sworn Teft was there in the scene! I thought it was so weird. But earlier today I reread the scene, and now I can't find him anywhere!
  18. I think it's relevant because it's mentioned that Syl wanted this at a time, then the Stormfather mentions he doesn't have the power but not the ability, but then the ability is proven to be possible. Brandon previously said that dead sprenblades could theoretically be revived but would be very difficult without their original partner, but we're seeing a form of that with Adolin. (Which they also thought was impossible in-universe.) This book also shows us that things that are good can also be used used to create evil things, and vice-versa. There is an Anti-Voidlight, so there must be an Anti-Stormlight...and they're right. So if Spren can be bought to the physical realm for horror, I think there's a way to bring them into the physical realm for...non-horror means. Although I think their relationship would be easier in different ways, assuming it happens, such as living in the Cognitive Realm or maybe even becoming a Cognitive Shadow. This book changed a LOT about how we view spren and death and Investiture and, frankly everything. I think we need to be a little more open to what could be. Again, I don't have a major horse in this race, but I just think that this book shows us that improbable things are still possible.
  19. I've seen the theory before. I'm not sure I believe it, but I could easily see that being the case. (Weirdly enough, I thought that Kelsier could/would be involved in both groups at certain points in time, and even thought they might be related. But I never though Kelsier would head them both if related!)
  20. I LOVE this idea! I could see TOdium trying to use that to draw out Cultivation too, in order to kill him.
  21. I could see it happening, especially now that we've seen spren bodies exist in the physical world. The spren being physical in the physical world can be used for both horror and beauty. But...I'm not entirely sure it would happen. It's also just a little lower on my Kaladin ship tier list (Updated November 20, 2020) than Leshwi and and tied with Tarah. But anything could happen!
  22. I don't think so, since the soup Kaladin ate wasn't real, and neither was the flute. I think it was [MINOR SPOILERS FOR LATER ROW STUFF]
  23. Maybe, but I think the references are older and coincidental. As someone said, the Beskar Steel attributes originate from Legends, and the planet Caloden may be a reference to Dune, which has a planet named Caladan, the planet that Paul Atreides' family once ruled. (Which fits with the Krayt Dragon being very similar to a Sand Worm in its first outing.) The spear I think is more for a reference to Japanese warfare and cinema in general while providing a creative type of fight and letting Diana Lee Inosanto show off.
  24. It was yesterday, but I FINALLY picked up Fires of Vengeance by Evan Winter and A Sky Beyond the Storm by Sabaa Tahir yesterday. I won't read them anytime soon because I'm so busy and still in my reading slump (Sanderson is always an exception to that slump), but at least I have them.
