  1. @Ookla the White-Cloaked @Ookla the Rogue will we know if a players vote was affected by the 20% miss chance? Or will we just know 4 people voted for A. But B with 3 votes got eliminated instead? I feel like there might need to be more than 5 elims. We have 3 guaranteed elims in the form of Aginor, Balthemal, and Padan Fain. If there is 4 that leaves one Agent of the Blight. 5 would only mean 2 Agents. Etc. Agents are the only ones capable of making night kills. Having such a small number of them would mean that if the few of them were elimanted then it would be left to the named evil characters to go it alone without their main elimination ability. Although considering the creature summon ability starting night 3 that would make up for the lass of kill votes. So maybe a smaller number does make sense.
  2. Good points made Furaminoid. I was going to count up the health myself to try and determine that. As you mention Lan, I had a question for the GMs @Ookla the White-Cloaked @Ookla the Rogue will we be told how much defense is provided to the eye each turn? Or how much damage was dealt after blocks? Basically, since we know the damage formula, we could potentially determine if Lan was defending each time or not, if the amount of damage blocked was one more than the amount of defend actions submitted. Over the course of time that could allow the two evil teams to deduce who they are. In that case I would caution whoever Lan is to try and ensure that they use their defend carefully so as not to reveal themselves too quickly. Wouldn't want them out so soon. And I just realized I might have been assuming something wrong about defend in general. Is that a public action, like a vote? Or is that something you pm the GMs about? I guess I just assumed public since everyone has access to it. If it's pm then my whole point about Lan is pointless.
  3. The man continued to follow the stranger that was leading them toward the center of the island. He listened as things were explained to them.
  4. I feel armies should be banned. Armies are only needed to defend yourself against another army. If no one has them, then no one needs them. If inter-guild conflict is going to happen, then it should be between characters and not NPCs. I understand the desire for armies, because some guilds are smaller, or people feel the need to supplement their characters against stronger foes. But if the Character Power level is taken care of, all characters will be on an even playing field, unless you try to make a weak character, at which point you need to stick with the consequences of that. Having an army can be fun and I understand people potentially take enjoyment from having them, but they are OP in their very nature. I think there should be a restriction on how many guilds people are in. Because it gets confusing. I understand if you have 2 characters and one fits perfectly in TUBA, the other in DA, but that just potentially breeds distrust and confusion. The one thing here is if we decided to restrict people to one guild(for example), then we would need to enforce it across the board. That would mean people couldn't infiltrate another guild. I don't know how we would want that to work. I alternatively like the idea of needing to publicly state the guilds you are in, so you can still be a member of different guilds, but that again would shut down all infiltration endeavors. I like infiltration existing I think, but we would need to decide how we would allow it to work if we chose to restrict people joining guilds.
  5. So I know the idea was tossed around at some point during the discussion of a point buy system. This is just off the top of my head for examples and costs might be unbalanced but here could be some examples. I feel like something like this would be good as far as strict, to the point, restrictions. Keep in mind all of these costs are entirely theoretical. The actual costs would need to be agreed upon based off how powerful we want a starting character to be, as well as how people feel powers compare strength-wise. Starting Points 50 Weaknesses: A character can gain points from a maximum of 2 weaknesses, but can have as many weaknesses as desired. Abilities: Items: Shardblade: This only applies to someone who isn't a KR owning a Shardblade. -10 Points. Sharplate: This only applies to non KR. -10 Points. Soulcaster or other powerful Fabrial. -5 Points. Soulstamp: A Soulstamp that a Forger made. Varying uses. -5 Points. Endless supply of Allomantic metal: This could be something people don't want to exist, either because people shouldn't have an unlimited supply, or because all Allomancer's should already have it so it shouldn't cost. -10 Points. Any other item more powerful than a mundane item: Possibly things like Aluminum equipment or anything else people decide on. Skills: Survivor: Your character has the skills and knowledge to survive on your own. You know how to forage and live in the wild without difficulty. -5 Points. Knowledge: Your character is knowledgeable about something, more so than a normal person would be. This should only apply to something important, not like knowing more about baking bread than anyone else does. -5 Points. Combat Trained: Your character has seen conflict. You know how to handle it reasonably well, and a battle won't shock you, unless it's extremely gruesome or harsh. -5 Points. Unique strength: This can vary from case to case, but applies to something like being really good at using your abilities for some reason. Think of it like a specialty almost, like Joel from the Rithmatist being really good at Math and Drawing lines, which would allow a Rithmatist to make stronger and more resilient Lines of Warding and such things. Other relevant skill: Lots of other things could fit in here. Not everything should be classified under here, just things that are going to be useful in a broad spectrum of areas. Something like being really good at drawing isn't necessarily going to count here, unless you're a Rithmatist. ------------- This is all just examples. Not sure if any of this sounds appealing to people or not. We might not want it to be something this strict. And coming up with the right costs to balance things out could be tricky.

  7. Laonin watched gladly as the wound healed, but then Aeodin's skin changed. Aomething else was wrong now. What happened? Was it the Aon? Did I do something wrong? Concern growing on his face, Aeodin gestured for the knife. Laonin handed it over, and watched with horror as he stabbed himself. "What are you doing!?" he yelled. Aeodin's skin quickly changed back, and he seemed relieved. More confused than ever, Laonin asked "Start talking Aeodin. What's going on? What happened and why were you hurt? Why am I a fool?"
  8. Fae felt a lot better as Mace helped her stand up and reassured her. After hearing Zaphoid, Fae confusedly said "But I failed the course. How did I pass if I wasn't able to complete it?" Tena flew them up back to solid ground and also seemed to shrug off her thanks. "I really don't know anything about that whole business with the king. But most people are so used to their dullform slaves they can't even begin to see me as a person. Thank you again." Feeling a lot better, Fae headed back to the start of the course to watch the next person.
  9. Seeing the Aon begin to work, Laonin sighed with relief. Realizing the knife was still in there, he carefully removed it, then shifted the Aon lower down towards the wound itself to help focus it's energies where the healing was needed the most. "I think he'll be fine. A moment more and it might have been too late. Hopefully he can explain what's happened." @Ookla the spearman @Ookla the Skeptical
  10. A figure ran up to their hiding place, and informed them of the approaching danger. Not sure if the birds or the Alleycane was worse, the man decided that the birds were at least dodgeable, so he might as well listen to the stranger's advice. He ran out from under the rock, ducking under the violent Shadowbirds, and began running after the stranger, toward the center of the island.
  11. Pain. That was all Fae could feel. Her senses were overloaded with it. From the taste of blood in her mouth to the broken bones, everything worked in concert to tell her she was dying. Everything else was blocked out. Slowly the pain lessened, and eventually went away entirely as new muscle and skin grew to replace what had been damaged, new bone bridges the gaps where others had broken, and she was healed entirely. She slowly realised two people were next to her. Two of the other entrants. They had both been the ones to complete it successfully. One was healing her with stormlight, the other holding a gold metalmond and rambling. But regardless of who had healed her, they had both come to her aid, and a debt was owed. Slowly sitting up, irrationally worried any sudden movement would undo the healing, Fae attuned the Rhythm of Appreciation and said, "Thank you. Both of you, for your assistance. Without your intervention I would have died, I could feel my life ebbing away. I owe you my life." As Fae finished speaking, she stood up, and bowed to Mace and Tena. "Not many humans would care enough to try and save a Singer like me. I am indebted to both of you for that."
  12. Fae stepped forward. This definitely isn't the ideal form for this, but given that some of the others already revealed some of the hidden traps, it should make things easier. Looking at the stepping stones, she began burning Iron, seeing the lines appear. She didn't see anything immediately useful, so she merely jumped over the gap to the first stone. Making sure of her balance, she again jumped to the next stone, and landed easily. Feeling more confident with herself she leaped over two more stones before she made a jump that was a little short of her mark and began falling through the thin layer of dirt into the pit. She managed to pull herself onto the column before falling, and grabbing onto the top, held herself in place. She stopped pulling on the column immediately next to her, and readying herself, let herself fall to the ground. Paying close attention to the lines, she forcefully pulled on the top of the column, launching herself up into the air, and as soon as she got above it began moderately pulling on the last stepping stone. This slowed her momentum dramatically but also sent her flying toward the end of the path. She quickly began falling forward toward the last stepping stone, but at the last moment pulled sharply on the one behind her to lessen the impact as she slammed into the last one, then pulled herself up and stood on it. Doing this had of course knocked the wind out of her, and used some of her metals, but gotten her across. She jumped off the stepping stone and looked at the next obstacle. This appeared to be a rope swing. Whoever had gone last had left it hanging in the middle of the pit, so Fae didn't have easy access to it. She looked up and was pleased to find that the rope was attached to a beam, which had some metal supports. She walked to the edge, and burning Iron, pulled herself out into the abyss. She stopped pulling in time to fall forward into the rope, and barely hung on. Thankfully she was light, and the knots tied into the rope helped. After dangling there for a minute, she lightly pulled on the last obstacle, and then released, beginning to swing. She continued to make small pulls on the column, gaining height and momentum to her swing each time. Finally, judging she had reached high enough, she let go of the rope and flung herself at the landing platform. Her landing was anything but graceful, but she did land without injuring herself, so that was something. Approaching the wall, Fae attuned the Rhythm of Irritation. This was entirely too difficult. What was the point of making them prove the athleticism? Wouldn't something else have been more suitable? She analysed the wall, but didn't see any metal lines coming from it. That meant she had to get creative. There did seem to be some metal behind the wall, which may be useful. Getting up close to the wall, Fae began pulling on the metal on the other side, slowly increasing the strength of the pull. Once she judged it was adequate, she began crawling up the wall, her Ironpulling keeping her from falling down off it. Reaching the top, she could feel her metal depleting, as she reached out for the edge and stopped burning it. She pulled herself over onto the top, and then climbed down the ladder on the other side. Looking forward she saw the metal she had been pulling on. Monkey bars. They were pretty high up, and not close together. Pulling a vial out and swallowing its contents, she stepped forward. Reaching out for a monkey bar a few in, she pulled on it, launching herself toward it. She grabbed on tight when she hit it, immediately ending her pull. Hopefully she didn't sprain a wrist doing this. She then began lightly pulling on a bar a few more down, and increasing the pull until she felt herself inching that way, she let go of the bar she was holding onto. Effectively using her Allomancy as another rope swing, she swung down and then back up, her momentum continuing the arc. She pulled herself the last few inches to the closest bar, and hung on. She continued this over the entirety of the monkey bars, finally landing on the other side, exhausted. Looking forward, the next test seemed to be more about balance than anything else. She gave herself a moment to recover, then began inching her way over the logs. She kept her arms out at her sides for balance, and maintained a steady but slow speed forward. She was almost across as suddenly she saw a rapidly approaching metal line and she ducked, almost losing her balance. A metal bar swung over her head, as she tried to stay on the log, while also staying under this new hazard. It seemed to have a pattern to it, though it wasn't constant. Watching the line she was able to move a bit, crouch as it swung close, and keep doing this til she made it across. Finally approaching the last obstacle, Fae sighed. She looked at the rope and the net with some apprehension, not knowing if her strength would last. She backed up, getting some distance for a running start, then sprinted forward. She jumped right at the edge and sailed through the air toward the rope. She reached out for it but her hand barely brushed it as she missed it, and fell the remaining distance to the ground, not having any nearby metal to pull on. She landed with a sickening crunch, as immediately all she could feel was pain across her entire body. Unsure if she could move or not, she called out as loudly as she could for help, hoping someone had seen where she had fallen.
  13. It should be air deprived or air starved. There is more air in the lowlands thus we are sick because of too much air, whereas he would have too little.
  14. Feeling a tug on his clothing, the man looked at the man behind him when there wasn't a bird in his immediate area. The man seemed to be trying to tell him to get to cover. Probably a wise choice honestly. The man looked around, trying to see if there were any such spot nearby. Paying too much attention to the terrain and not enough to the birds turned out to be a bad idea, evidenced by the talon slashing his face. Yelling out in pain the man swung and managed to take out the bird that had gashed him. As the blood began to pour out of his forehead and down his face, he tried to wipe it away to keep it out of his eyes. Feeling a more urgent need for cover now, the man turned and noticed a small rock outcropping they could crouch under, which should give them adequate cover from the birds. It might be a tight fit however. Swinging his sword one last time, the man shouted at his companion. "Come on! There's some rocks over there we can hide under." He then began running toward it, dodging birds left and right, swinging when he wasn't able to get around one quickly enough. He slid under the outcropping, and barely managed to avoid hitting his head on the stone. He knelt on the ground, looking outward as his vision continued to be obscured by the blood running from his wound. He hoped the man had been able to follow him to safety.
  15. Laonin watched as Ishek tended to the wound as best he could. Aeodin was dying, quickly from the looks of it. They needed to do something, fast. Aeodin reached into his robe and weakly pulled out an already formed, but not activated Aon. All it required was a surge of power from the Dor, and it would work its wonders. Before he could do anything with it, however, he passed out. "He's lost too much blood! We don't have time to get him to the hospital. We need to fix him now somehow." Laonin said, trying to keep the panic from his voice. Looking down at the Aon on the ground, Laonin wondered. Their Investiture shared a source. Would he, a Forger, be able to power the Aon since an Elantrian had already drawn it? Laonin didn't even know for a fact this was something that would save Aeodin even if it did work. It could be an Aon for fire for all he knew. But they didn't have any other options right now, good or bad. Picking it up off the ground, Laonin took it and pressed it to Aoedin's chest, like he would if he were applying a stamp to something. He didn't know if this would activate it or not, but anything was worth a shot. He felt something in his fingertips as a small glow began to appear from under his hand. Not knowing what to expect, Laonin looked to Ishek, then looked at Aoedin for any response to the Aon.
  16. Laonin wished Ishek would just open up for once. No matter the act he put up he still had emotion and feeling inside, everyone did. As Aeodin appeared and fell, Laonin rushed forward and knelt down next to him. "Aeodin! What happened? Who did this to you? Ishek, can you treat the wound?"
  17. The man continued running. These birds were persistent. No matter how many trees and bushes he dodged behind they just kept coming. Of course, thinning their numbers would probably help. Suddenly a man was running alongside him. Realizing that two swords were better than one, he had an idea. "Hey, you any good with a sword? Don't know how you fancy running forever with these things behind us. I'd rather just kill 'em." Saying this, the man grabbed his sword, stopped, and held it firmly in both hands. He pulled his hands apart, keeping a firm grip, as the sword split into two duplicate swords. Hoping the other man had stopped, he tossed a sword towards him and shouted, "Back to back! Their advantage is being able to come at us from every angle. If we can cut that area in half, it should make it easier to cut them in half." The man readied his sword, prepared to swing at the first bird to get close enough. @Ookla the Paragon

  20. Alright. So, the Shadowbirds are mutated Aviar(confirmed by @Ookla the Phoenix for me). The person I am currently RPing in the Exploring thread is, me. But I intend him to be the mortal version of me, who depending on how "God" discussions go may very well cease to exist or die or who knows what, I'll stick by whatever the group decides on I suppose. What I hope for is for him to bond the Shadowbirds. In order for this to happen the Queen Shadowbird, the one controlling the hive-mind, would need to die. Then I could step in, and bond one of them, and due to the bond it could become the new queen. This would effectively give him control of the flock. The Shadowbirds feed off of the spren of the islands, and Connection, and stuff. So my proposal is that when the queen is killed, I step in, gain control. In the process however the birds don't immediately surrender control, and they devour my "Author Spark" let's say. Thus, I am left with them, but am in every other way a mortal human being with absolutely no Investiture or anything. Figured I would bring this up so everyone can chime in and say what they think, as an attempt to begin planning any developments in a public space for feedback ahead of time.
  21. Laonin thought for a long time before he answered Ishek's question. Why did he do this? What was his real motivation? Was it right. Did it feel good. Was he really as selfless as people assumed he was. Did he use this as an excuse to deface the guilds and people of power. Did he even know? "I do it, because someone needs to. People are hurting, Ishek. Everyone has a past. Everyone has pain. The people on the streets have been forgotten by everyone. I used to be one of those people, until someone gave me a chance. Through someone's time and effort, I grew to become the person I am now. I learned skills, I learned Forgery, and I learned about people. I could have simply taken the gift I was given and bettered myself with it. I could be living in luxury somewhere far away from everything. But, all of these people deserve the same chance I was given. I don't pretend to be these peoples' savior. I just want to help, and someday if that turns me into a beacon for them then so be it. I tell myself I don't crave power. But in what I'm doing, if I don't go about things in the right way, I will gain power. The power of people's hearts. And I don't know if that's a power I'm fit to wield. Everyone doubts themselves Ishek, that I've learned. And I doubt whether or not I can resist power if it's handed to me freely. That's the real reason I regard the people causing these problems the way I do. I see myself in them, if I should ever fall prey to temptation. And maybe I hope that by feeling as I do about them it will stop me from making their mistakes." Laonin trudged along, contemplating himself. He had never quite mastered Soul Forgery. They said to do it you needed to know your true self, but what if you didn't like the person you found. He was content with being himself, at the risk of falling prey to his fears. "How about yourself? Why did you come here? Why do you want to help?"
