  1. nice! Will it be shipped before or after the official release of the game (novemeber, IIRC), since the contest ends before its released?
  2. damnation, it was a trap! Acting quickly, i bring both arms up crossed over my chest and release the latches on my pauldrons. As I push myself forward hard to separate both pauldrons and cloak from my breastplate, i charge up my hammer with a cold strike. Bringing myself low, i swing my hammer in an arc, using the momentum to swing myself around and bringing the towards what i hope are legs of the thing behind me. Whatever you are, you may be big, but lets see how stable you are. As my hammer comes around, I prepare to follow it's momentum with a roll to the creature's left after it strikes.
  3. Yeah, in real life, the whole "feeling someone watch you" feeling is nothing more than paranoia, sometimes coinciding with someone actually watching them, but for the most part just unfounded.
  4. Yeah, i've been to columbia a number of times (also kansas city on several occasions). I actually live in the STL area until about 4 months ago, but i moved up to Iowa earlier this year.
  5. It's not that they're easily spooked, it's that they lack completely lack any "life sense", so they don't get that innate "being watched" feeling people get when someone is looking at them and such.
  6. oh yeah? I grew up in the st louis area. What part of missouri are you from?
  7. Nice. that shirt design is pretty rockin'
  8. Interesting.....a...trap perhaps? That....couldn't be....I distinctly struck her with a killing blow.... Holding my side, I stagger up to my feet. damnation. That was a solid blow. I may need to get this looked at, the sheer force of it could have cracked a few ribs....Hopefully it's just a bruise, though..... Furrowing my brow, i start "I....uh...I'm sorry? Young lady, excuse my frankness, but where are your parents? You are much too young for something as violent as this!" Watching her warily, I keep my weapon at the ready, just in case this is some trick of her form that I am unaware of.
  9. Well, Eero is actually a real name, it's like Scandinavian or something. As far as the handle Eerongal, in so far as I'm aware, that's fully unique to myself, and in fact googling it only turns up places where i have made accounts and such. The only famous Eero that *I* know of is the one who designed the gateway arch in st. louis, missouri.
  10. damnation she's fast! Knowing there isn't enough time for me to both turn and block a blow, judging by how fast she was moving, I immediately drop myself into a roll to my left, positioning my back in such a way as I fall as to encourage any blow from above and to the right to glance, hopefully mostly harmlessly, down the back of my armor instead of striking me in the head. She's fast, and not too bad, but likely young and inexperienced. I can use that to my advantage. As I drop into the roll, I begin charging my hammer with a stun strike, coating the weapon in a brilliant sheen. There. Distraction created. She she should have no trouble noticing that.... As I get down into the roll I use the violent motion of the roll to discreetly reach into my belt and charge my small utility knife with a slow strike. All right. She's likely to be wary of my hammer, so when I come up I will start using it much more aggressively, and hopefully I should find a nice opening for my little surprise. That should even things up a little bit.
  11. Heh, man, i think that video originally came out back when i was in highschool (around 2001-2002ish or so). I haven't seen that in FOREVER. Edit: but those look like different dudes.....is this a remake or something?
  12. hey, it would prove your conviction to winning.
  13. basically the best response to anything ever right here. Also, yeah, don't be too intimidated by the community here, we have a small sized group of regulars around here, we've just blown up over the past couple of days. Also, welcome to 17th shard! I'm Eerongal, but many people call me either Eero or Ee, which ever you prefer.
  14. Well, a job as a book proof reader (editor), reviewer, or audio book voice talent would be people getting paid to read books, though not really paid for the actual ACT of reading the book (except of course audio book voice talent, but that's paid to read it out loud) Also: Welcome to 17th shard!
  15. It's kinda funny looking at the original post that's just a little bit shy of being posted three weeks ago, and seeing how bad it's been broken just today.
  16. up to 314 in the past 24 hours. And yeah, i'm quite sure its because of our contest. However, that's certainly "good for business" so to speak.
  17. heh, i've used stumbleupon for many a year. Great site to waste time when you have nothing else to do.
  18. Good luck everyone! Looks like this one is getting a lot of entries!
  19. what about global moderators? Are they considered "admins" for this purpose?
  20. i would like to announce that i bought my fiancee a kitten. Who she named, without any input from me, vin. edit: and what would such a tale be without pictures? Vin Vin 2: The kittening Vin 3: The hero of ages
  21. This is a pretty neat video.
  22. Plot twist! Chaos was actually the award the whole time! Also: good for you, miyabi!
  23. Well, since it's the "Official Rubix Award For Shameless Promotion" given for "shamelessly promoting 17thShard while Rubix was watching" and was "Awarded By: Rubix " i'm gonna have to go ahead and push this assumption up to a "maybe"
  24. i think that makes you the first person on 17th shard to get an award. Like ever.
