What Are You Watching Right Now?
Eerongal replied to Silus - Shard of Flame's topic in Entertainment Discussion
season 2 of the walking dead started yesterday! Anyone else watch it? -
author sued by publisher for self publishing
Eerongal replied to guess's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Wow, that's pretty messed up. It sounds like Penguin interpretation of a non-compete clause requires her to live on NOTHING other than their up front payment of $20,000 for well over a year. Personally, i went ahead and purchased her self published book, not because i have any particular interest in it, but because i wanted to help support the author because of this. -
The Rest of the Staff, According To Will
Eerongal replied to Shivertongue's topic in Introduce Yourself!
I say we do both. Make it obvious AND secret. I went ahead and started that trend for us up there with this no-goodnik. -
The only one that I took of those tests was the one that scores from like 1-40 (i dont remember which is which, i always confuse them). I never took the one that goes from like 800-3000 or whatever. I scored high enough on it to skip my college entrance exam and got a few grand scholarship. I scored a 31 or so, which i'm pretty sure is/was above average, but not like stupidly genius level high. Also: did exactly 0 minutes of studying and never took a practice test. And I only did it once, because i didnt wanna do it again. *is a clearly model student*

Is there anything particular that I know about the mercenary group she's a part of? I know you said they have a nasty reputation, but that doesn't really tell me much.
-
Well, at least she seems to be a good loser.... Nodding to her, i return her sentiment. "Yes, it was a good fight. You certainly have a few interesting forms. " Holding out my arms for the returning healer, i continue the conversation. "Get a bit more practice with them and you could probably defeat me. Also, that bear you have, while powerful, is dumb as a sack of rocks. I could probably teach you a few tricks if you plan on sticking around and are up for it. Inexperience is more deadly than the strongest formsphere." Pausing to wince a little at sting of the salve being applied, i continue. "Tell me, Darla, what are you doing working for the Furies? You don't seem like their usual sort, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it."
-
Niece? Interesting....Not entirely sure I want to know how that works..... I consider, cocking my head slightly at the mention of "niece". Nodding, I begin, "Yes, I do have another match. Also, I don't know what your normal clientele prefers, but if it comes down to it, I prefer function over style. So if you have to cut corners on looks for strengthening purposes, so be it." "Now, if i could beg your pardon, but I must be out to see to some more....uh....." Shrugging my shoulders and gesturing a bit to my burns, i finish "....'Repairs'" After pausing momentarily to catch the smith's response, I turn and set about finding myself the nearest healer. If push come to shove and they have no competent healers here, I could change to paladin and heal myself, but the additional fatigue that would cause on top of the fatigue from a hard fought battle is certainly not preferable....

Potentially in that order, however that's not quite guaranteed. Also: Welcome! Always glad to see new faces!

What are you playing right now?
Eerongal replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in Entertainment Discussion
So.....is anyone getting dungeon defenders when it comes out next week? i all ready have it preordered. If so, we should totally play sometime. -

Interesting....Good thing I'm not arachnophobia, i suppose. Crossing my arms carefully, I watch as the creature sets about its task, waiting patiently time estimate.
-
Strange. But i suppose anyone who has the skill to do so can be a competent smithy... Wordlessly, i dump the parts i'm carrying off on the counter, and being carefully peeling off the rest of my armor from melted flesh, and add them to the pile. Enjoying the slight relief of the cool air wafting over my burns, I clear my throat and address the young woman. "I need my armor repaired. It's been heavily dented from hard blows, so watch for cracks that may need to patch with a like filler. It's also been exposed to high heat, so the oxidization will need to be cleaned off of it before it has a chance to damage the metals, and obviously this goes doubly so for the previously mentioned cracks." Unless this girl is just the receptionist...? Cocking an eyebrow, I finish akwardly, "You....are the smith here, are you not?"
-
Ugh....I hate burns. Why did i have to fight someone who uses fire.....? Shifting back to my baseline, i feel the fatigue of hard fought battle settle in and my mind slow as the powers of my form fade away. Afterwards, I carefully collect up the remnants of my armor. Before exiting the arena, i turn and, suppressing winces, i give my unconscious opponent a quick salute and whisper, "You fought well. Rest now, you are safe from harm." With that, I turn and take my time removing myself from the arena. Let's see....This armor could take a bit to fix up. I'm going to need to find myself an armorer. After that, I better get these wounds seen to.

So apparently steve jobs may have tried to treat his cancer with alternative therapies at the point where it was fairly curable.

I would like to announce that my fiancee apparently won a copy of the alloy of law ARC through goodreads.com

yeah, he POPULARIZED a lot of things, but people seem to think he INVENTED a lot of the things he popularized, which is just plain untrue. If anything, in my opinion, he was more of a charismatic salesman and shrewd business man than he was inventor.
-
so....i knew this was going to happen eventually when i first heard this news, but, i'm going to go ahead and vent this here. I'm all ready sick of hearing people talking about all the things he invented. Seriously. I've looked through a few different articles/discussions on this topic in just the past half an hour and saw people claiming he invented....pretty much everything. For example, he invented clicking. Like with a mouse. Despite the fact that, looking it up, the very first trackball was made 3 years before he was born, and the first mouse prototype was when he was like 7. Note: this has nothing to do really with jobs himself, and is more a comment against the collective fandom and their complaints/praises/tributes about the whole thing (also, has nothing to do with anything on here, just stuff i've seen around the 'net). Also, it seems like discussions about this topic are everywhere, in everything i do. Anyone else having similar experiences thus far?

He didn't start pixar, he merely bought it from george lucas (it started as a division of lucasfilms) in the early 90's or so. Also, i don't THINK he ran it as CEO for any length of time, i think he just owned it and reaped large sums of cash. I could be wrong about that last part, though.

my opponent's current formsphere is pretty obvious in its inspiration, and i have a general idea of its powers.
-
Gotta get out of the way! Immediately after the strike, I leap to the left, and fall prone, and begin to roll further away That should take care of the flames! Leaping up, I check myself to make sure nothing is still alight, and then fighting through the pain of seared flesh, i ready my weapon. Ok, 'Tibbers', I don't know how sentient you are, but you're obviously angry, and that will make you further reckless. All I need to do is keep baiting you until I can work myself between you and the girl, and then I can strike down hard, and that should bring this match home. With that in mind, I quickly make a check of both the girl's and the beast's current location and status, and begin to charge cold energy into my hammer once again.

well, jobs isn't exactly known for philanthropy. In fact, he ended all of apple's corporate philanthropy programs when he rejoined apple in like 1998 (or whenever) Though, i assume that call likely goes to his heir(s) (presumably his wife, i guess) Edit: To survive its late founder, Apple and Steve Jobs planned a training program in which company executives will be taught to think like him, in 'a forum to impart that DNA to future generations.' In my opinion, that's kinda screwed up.

FYI, your link is broken (it's missing a : after http) I find it surprising that it was so sudden that he died, however, at the same time it doesn't surprise me, per say, because he's had issues with failing health over the past few years a couple of times (and there have been a number of death rumors up till now). I'm relatively sure he admitted he had pancreatic cancer about a year ago or so, so it's been a known thing, and he stepped down from apple not that long ago. I'm just surprised how SOON after he stepped down that he died. That means that he must have been in pretty bad shape at the time he stepped down. All in all, being an anti-apple person myself, i can't say i'm a steve jobs fan, but i certainly didn't want him DEAD. I do respect all of the things he's done for PC's over the decades.

Correction, you mean "tasty"

So did my hit seem to do anything to the girl? I was under the assumption that hitting a small child with a big hammer at full strength would be a "killing blow", since the bear thing seems pretty powerful, i assumed she was the weakness of the form. I just want to know what good the hit seems to have done since the teddy bear is still there an attacking before i decide what to do

So this is pretty old, but i also realize there may be people here who've never seen it, so since i'm rewatching them, i will post (the first of) them here. I present to you . Watch all the videos and love them. I command it.
