  1. Additionally because of the Shin's isolative tendencies, if we assume they've had such tendencies from before the final desolation, it is plausisble that the Shin were largely unaffected by the loss of knowledge brought on by the desolation, and as such they could have knowledge that was shared to anicent humans by the dawnsingers when the two were allies in the land. For further evidence in ROW Adolin said that they couldn't get grapes to grow out side of Shinovar. If the cause of that failure was not the lack of soil or shelter from the storms, it would indicate the Shin are doing something to help grow there crops.

  3. Ryshadium bonded spren, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to assume that other off-world lifeforms would be affected by Roshar as well.
  4. It's no secret that the shin do not freely give information to outsiders. They won't even show the fields to them, as they are considered holy land. The question is then presented as to why farmland is considered holy? If the shin were to value farmers so much, going so far as to giving them many servants and plenty of fancy appearell, then there must not be that many of them, after all if there were many farmers then a land owner, or at least head farmer would be needed to coordinate them. The only other possibility one could think of is a head farmer with plenty of farm hands, a system that is not apparent to us in our interactions with the Shin. Thus that leaves us with a single farmer, or a group of farmers all working there own land held in relatively esteem. And so, due the large amount of reasources we see dedicated to them, we must assume that the number of farmers in Shinovar is limited in some fashion, if it wasn't, everybody would choose to be a farmer. From this supposition we can glean two pieces of information: 1. That farmers must be able to produce a vast amount of grain per farmer to feed all of shinovar 2. That some skill is needed to produce such vast quantities as it would fulfill the requirement that limits the amount of farmers, and explain why the shin do not want outsiders seeing the farmers working their fields If the shinovar farmers knew how to grow plants like the Listeners did it would certainly fit with all the previously stated information and would explain why exactly farmers are considered "Holy" as they would technicly be using an invested art dervived of cultivation the shard most commonly associated with western roshar, as evidenced by the inordinant ammount of life spren present when using the rhythms to grow crops.
  5. I could help but notice that the results of the Tower's defences turning against the Radiants is very similar to emporor Ashravan's condition in "The Emporors Soul". Evidence: -Uncontrolled Bodily functions -digestive system responds to input of food but is otherwise unresponsive -being "healed" is possible but it only lasts a day, the end of which is heralded by a "Fading" feeling

  8. There are quiet a few word plays, puns, etc. in the Stormlight archieve, yet the series make it clear they are not speaking english. Are we to assume, by some remarkably convinient coincidence, that the puns are direct translations?

The Chasmling is a diminutive yet aggressive axehound breed used for hunting small game in Herdaz. It's slender build and oversized mandibles have made it perfectly suited to infiltrating burrows and prying it’s quarry from crevices in the rock. These attributes, however are overshadowed by its most well known quality, its brash attitude. The Chasmling’s aggressive nature is immediately apparent to anyone whom it encounters as they have the tendency to bellow in a threatening manner at any entity they perceive to be challenging them. The size of the supposed incumbent does not matter to it, and can often be seen confronting anything from an impassive chull to a large boulder. This behavior has made the breed popular in Alethkar, especially in the war camps at the shattered plains, where it obtained its moniker. (critiques accepted and encouraged)

Imagine, you are with your Grandfather, the best person you know, on his death bed, saying his last good bye to you and your family before he passes on. He intakes a breath, and sighs, as his eyes glaze over. Suddenly, waves of color start gathering around the bed, and the body starts to glow. You gasp as you realize your grandfather is Returning! Coming back to fulfill some mission given to him by the iridescent tones, As the light subsides, you realize your grandfather is no longer in his bed, a large, brillantly colored lizard lay belly-up belly in his stead. "Excuse me," the lizard turns to you and asks, "Do you know where I live?

The Conch Canin is an ancient breed, almost dating back to the Shadow days, and is most well known for its two most prominent qualities, it’s astounding intelligence and it’s strong, perhaps infamous fear of highstorms. Due these factors it has been deemed the perfect archetypal candidate for many songs and folk tales. These stories usually take the form of the axehound seeing something of value, a piece of bread or the like, and will challenge another animal (usually a chull or a cremling) to a battle of wits. At first it will appears as though the Conch Canin has the upperhand, using some trick to its advantage, but then, just when it seems like the axehound has won, the other animal will start to pretend there is a high storm coming, the Canin, losing it’s nerve, will then flee in search of shelter, leaving the other animal to reclaim its prize, as well as something from the axehound. There are numerous variations of the tale, some featuring more exotic animals, others ending with the axehound winning, and, interestingly, one where there actually was a highstorm, causing the chull to pupate and preventing both from enjoying their coveted prize. (I felt the blank background of the previous version was a little bland, so I decided to spice it up a bit with a parchment look.)
