I was wondering this question because in allomancy the power doesn't come from the investiture of the metal but from energy from the spiritual realm, thus it is End-positive. One would think that awakening would work the same way, the breath acting as a catalyst rather than the source. But instead Awakening is End-neutral, meaning the only way for a person's little straw man to get up and do a jig, is for a him to take energy from the breath itself. So that would make the investiture in a breath (being inexhaustable) much more than can be stored in any metalmind.

Exactly how much investiture is in a breath? It's considered net neutral, so it has to contain quite a bit for it not to degrade over time.

I'm not sure Kelsier himself was a dawn shard, the shard if supposed to superchargeany invested art, I think we would know if his powers were enhanced. It IS possible he was affected by the shard though. And it is possible the dawnshard was connected to the shard preservation. Kelsier had something that whispered to him in the pits that told him to "Survive", and when Elend was just about to give up preservation was able to use the last of his conciousness to keep going (or as some might call it "survive"). lastly when an allomancer burns lerasium their powers are greatly enhanced. So that is the command and the power both.

We all know of the rhythms on roshar, the singers and larkins hear them, and can use them to manipulate their own emotion. But what about the rhythms elsewhere, like on Scadrial: 1.if a seeker were to burn bronze on roshar they would sense the rhythms, but if a singer can hear rhythms even if they were born off world. So it seems like the rhythms pervade the cosmere but have a special connection to roshar. Additionally it seems like bronze sensing and rhythm hearing may be connected as bronze can hear rhythms, as bronze can hear rhythms and bronze pulses would be “familiar” to a singer. 2. Rhythms and Soothing appear to act very similarly. Both can manipulate emotions and both (as you can see in the latter case with help with enhanced Seeking) rely on pulsing to do so. And with copper disallowing the user to be affected by Soothing, that would all mental allomantic abilities related to the rhythms in some way. 3. Inquisitor “Throbbing” responds to emotions, could the throbbing be in time with the rhythms? Kar said he felt “the pain of joy”. Regardless, seems there are more to rhythms than meets the eyes

Cont. when asked why his people were called "Lesser spren" when it could be mistaken for the term of the same name refering to non-sapient spren the subject paniced and gave an unintelligible response. I will have to investigate further.

Lesser spren Transcript 1. I only met a single lesser spren during my time in Shadesmar. As such it should be noted that there may be significant variations in the species unaccounted for due to the small sample size. 2. The Lesser spren (as he identified himself) appears as a simple constructive drawing figure. Subject has line implying features on his body such as pectorals, eyes, kneecaps, and a pelvis, as well as a soft “shading” on the top of his head in the shape of hair. 3. Looking at him, he should be easier to draw than he is. It seems something about him is interfering with my sense of spatial awareness. It’s as if, despite being three dimensional the image of his depth was an illusion. Like, if you were to rotate a glass object you were shining a light through and observe the shadow. 4. Instead of facial expressions shapes and lines appear around the face to indicate emotions, a little like how spren appear in the physical realm. Apparently the “empathic symbols,” as he called them, are a part of the lesser spren himself. I have observed narrow trapezoids a short distance away from the face for laughter, teardrop shapes on the the top of the head for worry, and (I particularly enjoyed achieving this one) a row of diagonal lines on the face just under the line that indicates the eyes for abashment. Cont. I was privileged to be able to be able to talk with him at length. Although amicabl,e in his conversation with me he seemed deliberately vague when I had asked about him, his species, or even his personal matters, when I asked his name he replied that he was, “a work in progress”. In fairness, he seemed just as frustrated that he couldn’t give me straight answers as I was trying to pry them out of him. The most I was able to get out, beyond what I have already told you, was that there are other of his kind and that they live “in between”.

I don't think think we put enough focus on Elantrian investiture. Intriguing facts Sel is a system with many magic systems, which instead of getting power from the spiritual realm, they siphon the power directly from the Dor (the two splintered shard's power) Elantrian magic seems is the only investiture (we know of) where the magic's power is linked directly to the practitioner's proximity to Elantris (which is curiously located next to a perpendicularity) Sel magic seems unusually versatile even among Sel magics, allowing teleportation, illusions, transmutation, healing, energy summoning, strength/speed increase, emotion manipulation (likely via connection), among presumably many others Brandon said that Elantris was an “oddball among the cosmere magic systems” Keshu taught that “God would come to earth once all mankind was unified” unified, being a vague term Wryn's letter to Hrathen stated that “the time for [Jaddeth’s] ascension is near” likely referring Jaddeth coming up from underground The Fjordells seemed suspiciously interested in Destroying Elantris even when the inhabitant were, comparatively defenseless theories All the Elantrians are technically all ascended at once calling upon the directly Dor’s power using Aons as “codes” so theoretically anything a shard can do, an elantrian can do as well provided the know the correct Aons. That would mean an Elantrian the is the Shard so any Seons connected the an Elantrian are not longer to the person’s identity but instead to the shard itself. So when the Reod happened all the seons could only pull their connection to the physical realm from the blocked off Dor. Wryn was not talking about “ascension” in the literal sense but in the Shard sense. He needed all the elantrians killed so the power wouldn’t be connected to anyone alive anymore, that way the shard’s intent would let someone else bear the power totally. Maybe there are many other perpendicularities on Sel and if someone were to control, or “unify” all of them they would be able to put the shards back together and “Fully” ascend.

So, do cognitive shadows persist on roshar when someone is able is unable to forgive themselves? Both Dalinar and Kaladin heard the voices of their loved ones outside of visions when they forgave themselves and Teft had that moment when he just knew he was forgiven. Additionally ghosts are mentioned more in the the stormlight archive more than any other series, with talk of shades wandering in the the storms, and at one point Lirin even joking that he knew his father in law wasn't dead because if he was he'd be haunting him. If anyone has more evidence it would be appriciated.

I'm wondering If shards are formed on the Internal/Eternal basis seen in various form of investiture.(ex: Iron/Tin Radient Surgebinding/Fused Surgebinding) Domination can be seen as external, control from outside the existing system, and devotion can be seen as internal, support from inside the system

I made this for a school assignment The Plight of the Radiants Saving a land that is not theirs; Protecting from it’s rightful heirs; Is it we who are the just in this endeavor; Can we truly protect this world forever; Honor tells us we must fight; Our position now makes us right; For who can blame a child for his father’s acts; Does he tell us this so we do not forsake our pacts; We destroyed the world that was ours; Will we not repeat to do the same with our powers; Will we ever be granted to pay back what owe; For who is the fiend, us or our foe;
