They would achieve mass suicide. Roshar needs a storm and a ready source of Investiture. You cannot risk losing the Everstorm. The humans have lost. It is now time to rebuild.
-
And then? I am sorry, but somebody has to say it clearly: Defeating Retribution is no longer in the interest of the human population. What would that achieve?

Do you think Sanderson releases too fast too many books?

But then he'd start new series or continue shorter series. I am sure that Warbreaker II or Horneater or The Night Brigade would have been easier than Wind and Truth. Frankly it looks to me that he's increasingly becoming bored by preindustrial settings and wants to advance. -

Beginnings are easier than ends A fuller Cosmere makes novelty harder. Wind and Truth must feel repetitive if you've read Hero of Ages A fully connected Cosmere makes deviations from the plan harder I think he made a strategic error in closing the first arc of Stormlight in only five books. -

There is that air. But, to ask the obvious question, what would she gain from risking that obvious point of friction? -
I don't see exactly a way out. Wind and Truth destroyed too much to have a full restoration at the end. The Stormfather is dead after all. Honor has left Roshar. Cultivation has left. They are not going to return. The Blackthorn is ready to be unleashed. Ba-Ado-Mishram and Sja-Anat will be working in the background.
-
I think we have overlooked an aspect of Wind and Truth. It is comparatively easy to make human Fused. Was that a freak discovery and will not be repeated or are we looking at a glimpse of the future where rich people will all pay to be Returned in a way? Can the process be exported to other worlds? Are people who know how to do this left on Roshar?
-
That raises a big point. To which extent are the Fused now motivated by self-interest? Do they want eternal war? They personally may come to the conclusion that unleashing the Blackthorn to cause a war in which the Parshendi (let's call them that) need the Fused to protect Roshar is absolutely what they need and want. How many of the Fused will convince themselves that the Parshendi are culturally speaking human and that a continued dominance of the Fused is needed if that shameful contamination is to be wiped out and Singer culture to be resurrected? And in turn, if Navani wakes up and finds that the Singers are at war with the rest of the Universe under the leadership of her husband's ghost, what will she do? What will Jasnah do? It seems to me that, if Jasnah Kholin will come to the conclusion that the rest of the Cosmere will destroy Roshar if the Singers lose, she will do what is necessary to protect Roshar.

It might just be some colonial world with an Alethi name they clashed about. That is likely precisely because the sky burned. Destroying a colonial world you are about to lose is the rational choice. It lowers the incentive to go for your other colonies. In addition it is a very retributive thing to do.
-
That would entirely depend on whether the Fused age. Giving your body to a Fused to return is suicide and you have to sort of want to do it for it to work. They'll run out of Singer volunteers pretty quickly on Roshar. And I doubt it would work as a method of execution.

Dissatisfaction with this particular theme of Brandon

Technically true. Various governments, however, use authorities that govern the use of the radio spectrum, which in turn impose the standards. -
Intercosmeric Exchange programms

Precisely the point. Wouldn't Silverlight provide even more experience? -

Almost certainly yes. However, if you are leaving your home planet at all, why not Silverlight? -

Elderly and writing: Henderwym Nicelle Sauvage I'd say Henderwym. -

Is Starling the voice of the outside to the indigenous people? Is she, I hesitate to say it aloud, Paul Atreides?

We gt confirmation that a bond to an Aviar is a Nahel bond. Does that mean that When Dusk showed Vathi her death he took her on as a squire? The Nahel bond is called rare. Does that mean that it is limited to Surgebinding via Spren (and related powers) and Aviars? Do genuine Aetherbound form a Nahel bond or a Luhel bond or a third kind of bond?
-
The same way controlling lightning is valuable to Regals I'd presume.
-
Well, no. To flatten a planetary map without horrible distortions you need to be very un-euklidean. Pure sensitivity probably won't help. Wayfinding seems to be based on detecting reflexions of the Grand Knell. That means that you also need spatial resolution. Otherwise the original will just be louder than the reflexions, making them undetectable. You are really opening a can of worms here. Shadesmar works based on thoughts. That means we need to seriously consider that the calculations only work because you make them conciously.
-
I guess that depends on the extent you associate marriage with procreation.
-
Starling was his apprentice. She would know if Hoid has twin children.
-
Shadesmar is non-eukledian. It has to be for the shape and areas of continents in Shadesmar to be correct. Shadesmar is deforming itself. Your routes are changing. Navigators seem to be more specialized compared to Seekers, which are if they are specialized at all, specialized on detecting on of the Metallic Arts. They can't even detect feruchemy.
-
I would understand the twins to refer to the offspring of Hoid and his amnesiac wife.
-
Indeed. We cannot even rule out that his wife is Jasnah after having taken up Retribution, for all we know.
