  1. Hi I'm in again. and would also try being spymaster if nobody objects.
  2. but ambition is a shard and I'm not sure if Returned count as cognitive shadows... I believe they are different. Well anyway. That's just how it goes with assumptions and it is why this game is so much fun =)
  3. Ok do we try Battar as well or does someone have a better idea?
  4. I'd say Lifeblesser and Battar. Lifeblesser is a Returned and therefor got reincarnated by Endowment via the Returned Breath. Battar is one of the Heralds who reincarnate due to the oathpact.
  5. I agree with Soulstone. I'd say Michael Whelan because he is also an artist/painter. @Totally_Not_A_Worldhopper @Ashspren @Mr Mafia
  6. I don't think he actually ever says something like pulse or that it was described like that. As far as I remember he only said push on the coin to slow yourself. The pulsing part is just how I imagined it given the description of steelpushes in the first 2 books with how it is really difficult to adjust the strengh of the push. But I also could be remembering wrong but I don't have my novel here to look it up.
  7. what do you think the shadow clue meant? @Mr Mafia
  8. Ohh I can not wait for the puzzles. I'm really hyped to see what you have come up with @MetaTerminal Thanks for doing this.
  9. I just have to say this thread is great and I love how you work out the physics. I just wanted to add that if I remember correctly in Era 1 Vin doesn't have very fine control over any force/acceleration or else. She either burns or flared steel and those are her two push strenghs. She also remarks about Zanes control and how he can push with not every part of his strengh and realizes that it takes immense concentration. Which is why I don't think any adjustment in the power or force of the push can be used to explain the mechanics in situations Vin is in. In Wax case with the book he must also have really fine control over the power of his push or this shouldn't be possible (but he had a lot more time to learn subtle pushing than Vin) and we still don't see him do anything similar in combat situations. So what I mean to say is whatever it is the allomancer has control over I don't think they can quantify as specifically but rather normally can only set 2 strenghts burn or flare normally anything else requires immense concentration and prior training. What brought me to this was the description of how an allomancer eases himself down with a coin to the floor by slowly adjusting the force of his push. I don't think Vin could have done that. I always imagined pushing on the coin to slow yourself down like doing short pushes that just so counteract gravity/your initial impuls then letting go of the coin again, falling a bit then pushing again to stop youself again and so on. A bit like letting yourself down with a jetpack that only has one setting. So you would only have to work out the timing of your short pushes which from the description in the books seems easier than adjusting the strengh.
  10. Sorry @Ashertliden we will do our best again next time
  11. yeah!!!! @Sorana we are in the same team! *grins* @MetaTerminal I'm happy with my team =)
  12. I'm actually a bit clueless what is meant with the Shadow clue. My only interpretation so far is people who worked a lot in the shadows. So Tyndwyl (all the Keepers were keeping to the shadows during the Final Empire), Nale and Battar (who have been keeping their identities secret for thousands of years), Marsh (he has been working for the rebellion for a long time, he infiltrates the Steel ministry, in Era 2 he still seems to mostly keep off the radar), Mraize (I mean he is the leader of a secret organization, so he probably has a lot of work in the shadows, also he keeps shadowing Shallan), Chapps (works at night to avoid taxes, disposes of bodies for criminals.)
  13. I think I just woke my fiance because I was laughing sooo loud at these....
  14. I completly agree on the Min part and the dreams. It reminds me of this scene.
  15. That's why in the first attempt I tried to keep it spoiler free.
  16. That too but I meant more like (Spoiler read at your own risk)
  17. I wouldn't recommend reading New Spring before TEOTW. Since, if I remember correctly, it would spoil the first time readers a lot of the revelations about Lan/Moraine/Siuan as it reveals their true intentions before even beginning the series. Personally I read it after AMOL and loved coming back to those characters. So I would recommend doing that.
  18. Hi can I still join? I have read the series (it's awesome!) so I can jump in whereever you are atm.
  19. @Toaster Retribution yeah I'm now really excited for what you'll come up with for those roasts
