  1. "I see." She replied disappoitedly and sighed. "I'm looking for a man, tall, brown hair, the cut was awful and his beard unkempt." Wrinkling her forehead she tried to remember some more details. "Dark eyes, his cloths were green and brown." He had changed his voice, tried to appear younger when he mentioned his mother. Ophelia suddenly wasn't sure if handig him her bag had been such a good idea, but she tried to keep her smile. "Do you happen to have seen the man?"
  2. Ophelia walked. Each step deliberatly she walked, tried to come up with a good way to find the man, or some food at that when someone adressed her from the side. "Thank you." She shot him a bright smile. Her bag wasn't heavy, contained nothing more than her make-up, a second pair of shoes and her most favourite brush. Still it would be impolite to decline and so she handed it over to him. "I am Ophelia. It's a pleasure to meet you." She asked him and wondered if he might have a job for her, or maybe if he knew someone who was in need of her skills. Hopefully her make-up and hairstyle could function as advertisement. "Do you know someone in need of a hairdresser?"
  3. Yay
  4. Don't kill me while asleep...
  5. A little windspren had been playing close by. When the fighters entered his realm he curipusly flew closer, whirled and twirled around his axis.
  6. Temeria watched the spanreed write down a story of war and death, or storms and light and she sighed. Aln a Truthwatcher. Trust her sister to become a mystical Knight Radiant. As usual she was brilliant in everything she did. Like this guild. She owned such a huge building, people who worked for her. She had everything. Seeling lonely she took the spanreed up. Stay safe. She replied, mostly because it was the only thing she could think of. I can't help you, or Roshar. I don't know how to travel there, and honestly, I don't want to return. Not now. Maybe in a few years, I don't know what will be in a few years. She put the spanreed down, read through her words and felt sorry. I can try to find a way for you to travel here though. I met someone who said he could and I know where to find someone elses that should be able to.
  7. When I left. She replied quickly, wondered if he thought that she was interested in it. She considered the thought. Was she interested? She wasn't even sure. But if it made him happy to write all of this down, then she wouldn't object either. Als was still reading and Temeria looked up, glanced outside. She would leave after this spanreed conversation. There was no real point to stay here longer, to watch her sister ignore her and listen to a brother she didn't know write down history. Somehow she wished, that she had ended elsewhere, in a different world. Somewhere, where she could simply start a new life instead of sorting through her old mess.
  8. I think that maybe checking after a week how many responded, and should it only be a few then maybe add another week to give those that stayed silent so far a chance to write down their opinion as well. I agree that we should visit one god that day, so that we talked to all of them at one point or the other. Actually the idea to ask about our thief as well isa good one. Songbearer knows not enough to really deal with that in a consistent way, given that we paid no attention to laws at all so far. Additionally I'd like to advertise our proposal of course. [X] Visit Lawmaker the Honest As to our second activity that day. I really liked what Firesoul said about building something in addition to being a god. I have to admit, I'm guessing a little here, but we already have a reputation to study a lot, so that would be something to build on. I'd like to research a little into the whole school topic. Maybe it would be possible to open up one, nothing like we have today, more a simpler version, a few years max. Basic calculation, basic reading, maybe some general insights about animals and or the world the life in. Practical things they can really use in the end. Additionally it could also serve as some kind of day care for those children old enough to attend. We'd really have to think about details here, maybe a Study Circle in the evenings would be better. I'm not really sure, but I'd like to have some information about the general situation (sorry and not sorry for handing that ball over) and would like for Songbearer to look into it. [X] Study the current educational system and its accessibility for poorer people (Side note on my part: if you have no idea either, then we could simply go with the situation in medieval europe? Just a suggestion, in the end it's up to you, and I don't know if we will do that.) Regarding the thief: I think we should listen to his story first, before we make any other decision. Hopefully Lawmaker also has some insight regarding how such things are usually dealt with, so that we don't decide something completely unusual in the end. [X] Ask Hera to question the man.
  9. The lipstick was resting comfortably in her hand and she took care to paint her lips. Just a nuance brighter than they usually were, only a little bit. It was the art of doing make up. How to enhance your natural beautiful without everybody noticing that you used make-up at first glance. They had to notice with their second one, let them discover one step after the other the piece of art she had created. Slowly she smiled at herself, appreciated the way her lips curled up, how her eyes sparkled when she admired her face in the mirror. Her was looking especially good today, the curls nearly perfect as they framed her face. Quickly she used a soft piece of cloth and a little oil to polish her nails, lifted them close to her face and smiled again. Their tone matched the one of her lipstick perfectly. She had gotten it right. Her stomach growled a little, reminded her, that she had finished the last food she had taken out of the kitchen the evening before. Looking though her bags she took her time to select a dress, a nice blue one would suit her complexion well, highlight her eyes, with her dark hair to add a nice accent. Her smile faltered when she realized that the blue seemed a little dull, although she remembered the colour to be vibrant, rich and beautiful. Now it seemed as if someone had accidently mixed grey into it. With a curse she stuffed her dress back into her back and picked a brown one instead, tried to look past the fact that even the brown seemes lifeless. Ophelia checked her face again, made sure her dress sat perfectly, that it hinted at her assessts without presenting them like a whore would do and then she took her handbag and walked out of the room. She had exactly three things to do. Find something to eat. Find some work. And get her breath back. No, that was the wrong order. Get her breath back, find something to eat and then find some work. How was she supposed to know which lipstick would suit a face, which accessoire would bring out the hair most, if everything looked as if it had been mixed with grey? Back straight and face friendly she set out, her mind focused on her three goals for today. She left the house, remembered that she had no money to continue to pay for the room and added a new accomodation to her list. It was only when she was saw all the people milling around when she realized that she had no idea what to do next, nor where to go. How was she supposed to find someone in this city? Lest a criminal. Hesitantly she looked at those shuffing along the street, walking this way and that way, all moving quickly, with some kind of purpose. She stood out, her dress more or less clean and nobody, really nobody had taken the time to check their faces in a mirror this morning. Stunned by the sighe Ophelia stood there and stared, unable to come up with a good idea how to start her search.
  10. Althea followed Karin's glance over to the hot spring and she fighed all well. "We can always call it a day and go on later." She ammended, although she wasn't particularily tired. Mostly she felt good and strong, she hadn't pushed the stormlight back when she realized, that she hadn't needed it earlier. "Corette mentioned that Adren has already set up camp, so we can simply head there, make a stop at the hot springs and care about the flying creatures later?" She didn't plan to bath in front of everybody, but that was a different matter. The thought to get out of her cloths alone made her comfortable, and to jump into them with all of her cloths on, didn't really seem wise to her. Maybe she could only wear a part, but in the end it would leave her with the need to change afterwards, if she didn't want to go sleep in a set of wet clothing. The wall captured her eyes again and she touched it again, her fingers moving over the paint, when she couldn't quite turn around and leave this riddle behind. Investiture resists Investiture. Gently she reached out for the wall with her mind, touched the paint, the stone, tried to find a place she could convince to change, something to get a hold on with her own Investiture. She suspected to find no hold, to be moved away. The wall was obviously invested, so she knew that she most likely had no chance to soulcast it. Instead she was mostly looking for something that she might be able to soulcast, because that might give a hint as to what exactly the wall was doing, which parts influenced which. To her surprise her Investiture latched onto the wall, as it always did when she found a spren, someone to bargain with. Althea pried farther, offered some stormlight in hope for a reply and got a vague sense of a spren, definitely non-sentinent but it was strong, stronger than most of the spren she usually encountered. It wasn't the wall she realized after a while, the spren just used the wall, it was attracked to something else, and therefore had decided to stay. The stone was only a place it used, nothing more, and nothing less. It wasn't sentinent enough to really answer a question, but the fact that it was here alone, that it acted based on something, told her stories. Her mind swirled around when she considered that, when she tried to find out what the spren could be attracked to, why it was where it was and what it meant. A spren that showed the future. That adapted said future now and then. A spren that was attracked to something. Something that - the thought ran into a direction that made it dangerous, and she hid it carefully. If she was right, the expedition might loose its playful character sooner than later. She considered the other members of the expedition, relaxed slightly when she decided, that at the moment there was large chance that none of the others were able to find this out by themselves. That left her with one question. Tell them, allow them to follow her train of thoughts, consider the implications, or just stay quiet, until she found out if her suspicions were right. It was the Alleyverse, spren tended to act strangely around here. Still. A spren in a wall, calm, quiet, it felt nearly dormant, although she knew that it wasn't. It was simply calm. A spren. Little seeker rats, worms, but that she just met a spren she'd never sawn before. That was something worth every minute she spend down here. She left the spren some stormlight as a gift and then finally turned away from the wall. "Maybe we really should head back to the others." She returned to the matter at hand. The sooner they slept. the sooner they could go on. And that meant, they could find the reason why the spren was here sooner as well. @AonEne @kenod
  11. Shana inhaled again, when Ben rushed off and followed the urge of the stormlight. She took the spheres, stopped, remembered Ben's warning to be cautious, but the light pushed her to move, to do something. It was so easy to give in, to move, to do something. And she loved it. To rely on her body, to dance around her enemies. Slinkening her feet she moved fast, delected a blade with her staff, and then continued, looked for one person. She sprinted back to the battlefield, caught a blade on her own and then she saw him. Rob. "Hey!" She shouted and moved over to him, leaving to more Voidbringer on the ground. "Let's clean that placeup?" Together, they could be devastating. @I think I am here.
  12. @Invocation
  13. Shana listened to Ben's words, fluidly moved between him and another Voidbringer, stabbed it square into its belly, then pushed it away. "I'm feeling good." She disagreed, "really." Quickly she swiped at the legs of a woman, slickened the ground below her, so that she tumbeled to the ground. "Good enough to fight." She knew that he was right, she had to be careful, but she felt good. Strong and fast. She would stand up for them. "It's what I do Ben. I am bad at consoling. I can't heal or am smart. If I'm not here, I'm useless. If someone dies here because I am too weak, then it's my mistake." Quickly she blocked another blow, sent the Voidbringer sprawling, stumbled slightly. "Let's head to the side, work as a team. You can give me cover with your illusions, we take those out of the game, that break through, make sure the house is safe?" ============
  14. I'm sorry
  15. Thank you so much! That you feel so sorry for him is great!
  16. Althea watched the group dissipate again, the paintings loosing their fascination. It was always interesting to see how easily some gave up. The voices of the flying creatures were disturbing, but she still turned back to the wall, looked at it again. "Would you like to try to capture one of them?" She asked Karin and Myriad, basically Wes as well although she wasn't sure if he was interested in something like that and pointed above to indicate the animals. "Otherwise we could try to find something out about the wall. There has to be a reason for why it does, what it does." The future. There were possibilities. Some Epics could do it, some metals allowed for that as well. She even had heard about a special type of Aviar. Pensively she considered all possibilities tried to think of something plausible. @kenod @AonEne @I think I am here.
  17. Ignored. Oh well, Temeria sighed, looked down at the page. It fit Aln. Temeria was no mystery anymore, so she ignored her. And despite all the years - it hurt. Hurt more than she had expected. Out of the corner of her eye she eyed Aln, wondered if she had meant her earlier words. Maybe - maybe not. I've seen war. She replied simply. Maybe we find another possibility to talk another day.
  18. Oh sorry. You're right. Added the 20 twice. In that case it's fine
  19. Given that my nickname here is a character's name... Thank you so much for the compliments for Shana! It makes me really happy that you like her so much! So the character I like best of all my characters is, no surprise here: Sorana. She is just plain fun, old enough to lived through so much and nearly everything I'd like to be. Speaking of the Shard it's Althea. I love how she changed from my first posts, I love how different she is around Max and around other people. One day she maybe finds another friend she's willing to trust enough to smile around them, maybe. Then there is Shana, who's her opposite and incredibly fun to write, although I do feel bad for her, because she's rushing towards Sagitta's ending at the moment and got a little out of control. It's not totally unexpected if you know the oaths I planned back in march, but still, she's got a head of her own. I've got a whole bunch of characters that never really worked like Skadi. The worst one is Ancona - thankfully that rp never really took off. Lena and Wita are hard to write, due to their mental issues, but I have to admit at least with Lena I think I manage alrightish. I feel sorry for Mike, although his arc is logical it makes me really sad and I make myself sad with it... Character I enjoy reading are many (not ordered) like Lita, Alex, Max, Rob, Ben, James, Karin, Alask, Freyr, Myriad, Deteca, Voidus, Mac and I can't really decide because I love them all.
  20. I think we've got two issues here. One is the police force and how to live in Alleycity, the other is the character. While I agree, that decisions about the whole police force is something everybody should have a say in, I'm fine with your character being more of a "black sheep" regarding his attitude and fighting style. In that case, please make sure that you maybe mention now and then that he thinks of the other police officers as weak or inefficient (or whatever he thinks). Just make sure you portray him as an individual and not as someone representing a whole group of people. You could even throw him out of the police force at one point or suspend him to go for CD. Additionally: please keep in mind that it is a vital part of the roleplayer, that they don't like to be told what to do. So far we have no real active police as PCs (most of the Precursors were NPC, and it was mostly used by Darth and few others). Don't expect people to react to your character, like they OOC would do. Generally, I'm still convinced that Alleycity is no bad place to live. Yes we've got lots of DA under the players, but there are also really good characters and those that work in a more meta-plot like setting for the city and those living there. I know that this is easily lost, especially for newer players, but these efforts have been around for as long as the AV exists in its current state and it would be sad were they lost completely.
