  1. "No. You only need to come." Shana grinned again. Ben sometimes needed a push in the right direction, he was too quiet for his own good.
  2. Shana rolled her eyes at them. "Ben, Leona, let's go swimming? You can bring your book Ben, if you want to? No need to offer these guys an audience." @Lunamor @BookishOcelot
  3. "We have a training room for that. Go there to beat yourself up." Shana shouted and then ate another cookie. Guys. Always the same. No sense for anything. @JacobClaessen @beantheboy12
  4. Mike froze. Beautiful. She found his scales beautiful. Nobody ever found his changing body beautiful. But then she hadn't seen the squid yet. Or the fox, or the porcupine. "I'm no epic." He answered quietly. "Just the result of one of the DAs experiments." Picking up his knives he opened the door. "Let's circle around, I can lead the way, just follow me."
  5. "A letter? What did she write?" Shana asked and finally found something to eat. "Cookie anybody?" She offered the box to the others. @Dr. Dapper @Lunamor @BookishOcelot
  6. Lizanne jumped, whirled around and took her bag to defend againsz whoever it was. She swung it in a wide circle, aiming for the head, the moment she started to turn. She hadn't seen her attackers face, didn't think, defended herself on instinct alone.
  7. "Great!" Shana grinned widely. "I finally managed a nine, I tried for weeks, and now I finally found the clue how to solve it. I really need to go to the mountains and try a nine there." "And school. Alright I guess? Geography was interwsting, the rest, I just sat there." She smiled at Glint and then waved at Ben. "And your day?" @Lunamor @BookishOcelot
  8. Shana stepped into the kitchen, hot and sweaty from climbing. Her muscles were shivvering slightly, which was good. She had added some workout after climbing to strengthen her arms. She'd finally managed to climb a nine, and was in a good mood, humming her favorite song. Which would probably be a different one tomorrow. "Hey Doc. All good?" She fetched something to drink and gulped it down, then turned to Leona. "How was school?" She asked before filling her glass again, looking for something to eat. @Dr. Dapper @BookishOcelot
  9. Lizanne hobbled up the stairs, as quietly as she could manage. Stairs were difficult. While she tried to be silent she stayed upright. Should the doctor come down again, she didn't want to be caught sneaking around. Nobody had said the upper level was forbidden. But then she hadn't been exactly invited either. Turning around she briefely looked down at the others and then continued, slowly walking up. Stairs were a pain, but at least it meant it would be easy for Lisa to keep up. @Voidus @kenod
  10. She thought about that for a moment and then nodded slowly. "You should try to get the approval of those living here already. Those in charge of the water, and the fertile land." Her face grew worried. "I fear we might be walking towards a war, the old settlers feel threatened by the newer ones. Add those to the mix who preach that this place is a salvation..." She trailed off and then sighed. "Water is rationed as everywhere else, but people talk about a cavern able to remove the curse of rusting away. They say, that this place can heal our world." Shaking her head she started cleaning the bar in front of her. "You should try to belong somewhere. They might be able to protect you and the child should it come to the worst."
  11. Lizanne nodded and, after grabbing more food, headed towards the stairs to follow the man. It was always better to know what was going on, than to stumble into something blindly. And right now, she wasn't only blind, but also wearing a large thick cloth in front of her eyes. @kenod ============= @Voidus
  12. Mike led her over to one of the side rooms, one with a backdoor, they might be able to use as escape. He'd contemplated to use one without any way out, but that would end with them trapped. Making sure the door outside was locked, he helped Sam sit down. Placing his knives on a counter he hastily rummaged through one of the cupboards, grinning in relief when he found what he was looking for. "Here, take some of these." He handed her some pills. "Painkillers." He explained while he looked for some bandages. His eyes started watering and the world blurred all around him. When he identified the bandages by touch and returned to her side, he knew he had to look like a monster, so he kept his glance down as much as possible. His traitorous skin was still covered by scales, making his shirt uncomfortable, the animals reacting to his fear, to his lack of control right now. "I'll bandage your wound as good as I can, and then, depending on how you feel, we could try to sneak around the building and find the shooter."
  13. Amara felt his hand on her shoulder and relaxed a bit. It was good to know, that she wasn't alone in this and she trusted him, which was even better. She smiled at him gratefully, looking into his eyes aswell. "Thank you." Looking at all of them she added: "Back to the tavern once Algorath is finished, and then let's try to find out more? Maybe there are some similarities between those vanishing." @Steel Inquisitive @Chasmfiend#1 @Vargo Seldon
  14. "That's smart." Amara looked at the gloves for a moment. They were simply, but they would do their job. She thought about the person who had worn them, who she would have been. Amara knew death, she had cared for people until their dying breath, but this, this was different. "We need to stop this." She said quietly. "At least I need to." @Vargo Seldon @Steel Inquisitive @Chasmfiend#1
  15. ================ Edit:
  16. Mike nodded. "Can you move? I'm not sure how long I trust these crates."
  17. Mike fliched when the bullet exploded and gripped his knives tighter. He had no chance against someone with a gun, not with his injured arm, not with his knives. Looking back at Sam he stayed where he was, but peaked around the corner of the crate. Nothing - for now at least. "How are you? How bad is it?" He asked Sam. @Steel Inquisitive
  18. @ZincAboutIt =================== Amara walked towards those who had spoken and smiled friendly at them. "Warmest greetings to you. I have heard your conversation and I wondered if you could tell me more about those missing?" She asked and a man turned towards her, smiled as well, but his face stayed dark at the same time. "Will you look for them?" He asked eagerly and added without giving her a chance to reply. "They lived close to the Undercity, same as me. One day, they were gone. Yesterday, maybe the day before." He spread his hands ruefully and she took a moment to look him over. Alcohol. His liver already showed signs of his addiction, he had another year, maybe a bit more. "How did they look like?" She asked and he paused before describing them in a details. Amara nodded thankfully and then set her pinnate down, searched through it. "Chew these. Stop drinking that much. It won't be long until your body will show the first signs." He took the leaves, but looked at her with a strange glance. He wouldn't stop, and she had no possibility to help him over it. Maybe the leaves would help for a while and pull some of the toxins out of his body. With a last nod she turned around and returned to the others, telling them what he had told her. "Thanks for waiting." She told Jürgen and smiled at him again. He couldn't return to his home, same as she had no way to go back. If she was honest with herself, she was glad that he had agreed to come along. Travelling alone was lonely and dangerous, and maybe they could travel together for a while. Both Mutig and Algorath had a place to return to, but they hadn't. It would be nice to have some company, at least for a while. But then, right now there were more pressing matters at hand. @Steel Inquisitive @Chasmfiend#1 @Vargo Seldon
  19. Mike helped her over, carefully put his body between her and the attackers. When they were behind the crates, he turned towards her, took of his jacket and used it to improvise a bandage to stop the bleeding. His arm hurt, but he ignored it for now, instead he drew his knives and tried to prepare himself for another attack. Scales covered his hands and he blushed, avoided looking into her face. Couldn't be helped know. They all would know one day. He pushed the snake back and then stood watch.
