  1. Double Post, but I believe all PMs have been sent out. If you didn't get one or are confused, please PM us.
  2. Night 1: Chaos in Celebrant The city of spren was in pandemonium. News of a sighting of an Unmade near the docks had spread like freedom-starved stone transformed into smoke. All sprenpeople alike had begun to panic; Honorspren looked for those they could protect, Highspren searched for the guilty spren, and Cryptics reveled in the truths and in the lies that were unfurling in quick succession. Sja-Anat had returned, and with her, mistrust and deception returned to Celebrant. Hjalar was the first to be surrounded by others. “You were among those to first see Sja-Anat,” Rysca, the Highspren, accused. “How do we know you haven’t already been corrupted?” Shyv and Fyrul each pointed to others as Hjalar tried to explain how she was just as uncorrupted as anyone else. Quickly the judgement began to surround others, ending with Copila and Sartras being the final two suspects. The two groups each questioned their respective accused spren concerning their previous activities, their words, their intents, and anything else they could think of. Both the accused began shouting at each other, convinced the other must be under Sja-Anat’s influence already. The debates grew heated and lasted through the day. As the cold sun of Shadesmar began to set over the ocean of spheres, the Stormfather arrived to mediate the disputation. “CHILDREN, PEACE. SJA-ANAT HAS NOT YET TAKEN CONTROL, BUT IF WE ALLOW HER TO SOW DOUBT, THE ENEMY WILL GAIN POWER IN THIS REALM,” he rumbled. “LET US CHOOSE THE ONE MOST UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF OUR ENEMY AND WE WILL DETAIN THEM UNTIL SJA-ANAT HAS BEEN CAPTURED OR CAST FROM AMONG US.” The others agreed with their father and, at the last minute, one voice arguing for Sartras’s guilt silenced. It was decided then that Copila was the one to be detained. “SON, I AM SORRY,” the Stormfather reverberated. With a gesture, he commanded the Highspren to take Copila out from among the rest. As they locked Copila away, they searched him and found only stormlight. But the Stormfather had decreed that he be contained to prevent Sja-Anat from taking him and corrupting him. “I’m sorry, Copila,” Rysca said as she locked the door. “It’s for your protection and ours.” Resolute, she turned from the Lightspren and entered the city, dark under the night sky, determined to find the enemy’s servant here, wherever the Unmade was hiding. Vote Tally: Coop772 (Copila) (5): Devotary (Meladian the Lightspren), Lumgol (Hjalar, a lightspren), Randuir (Alabaster, an inkspren), Rathmaskal (DrizzleFather), Sart (Sartras) Sart (Sartras) (4): Cadmium Compounder (Cadaci), Coop772(Copila), Dr. Dapper (Ji the crazyspren), Elandera (Enara), Fifth Scholar (Rysca the Highspren) Fifth Scholar (Rysca, the Highspren) (2): Furamirionind (Fyrul), Shqueeves (Shyv) Lumgol (Hjalar, a lightspren) (1): Levitaph (Lyvit) Rathmaskal (DrizzleFather) (1): TheMightyLopen (Lymelis) Copila was lynched! He was a Lightspren! PMs are open! Feel free to create them now, but please include Steel and I in all PMs. Role PMs will be sent in quick order.
  3. That's time. Give me just a second to get the thread up and them PMs will be sent out shortly after.
  4. If the actual vote tally was thus: Alv (3): Maill, Steel, Wilson and someone were to use their ability as an Inkspren or Illumination to add one to Steel's vote, it would appear as thus: Alv (4): Maill, Steel, Wilson If thy were to use the ability to reduce Steel's vote by one, it would appear as thus: Alv (2): Maill, Steel, Wilson
  5. There is definitely anonymous evil killing in this game. You made a 3rd post now, but also, note that to increase bonding chance, it's 3 posts a cycle. A cycle is made up of both a day and a night turn. This has only been the first day turn. 35 minutes!
  6. That is gray. [*color=red] and [*/color] (minus the *) should do it for you.
  7. Just a reminder that there is just over 4 hours left in the cycle! Don't forget to get orders and votes in before then!
  8. PSA: I’ll be taking care of rollover today, so it will happen at the same time still.
  9. 22 hours left in the day! Also, let me share this fitting screenshot of our GM.
  10. PMs have all been sent out! If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Let the game begin!
  11. I’ll let @Steeldancer answer 1 and 3 as he chooses, but I can answer 2. You may take an action each turn, one during the day and one at night, but you cannot use the same action in both the day and night.
  12. I don’t believe so. But Steel knows the items way better than I, so I’ll let him answer this. Again, Steel may correct me on this, but I do not think Sja-anat must be the only Enlightened to start with.
  13. I’m excited for my first co-GMing experience since I’ve been back! Thanks, Steel, for putting together a fun game!
  14. I mean, you did? You didn’t tell me exactly how it worked, but the Analyst name wasn’t super vague haha. But I do get the distrust, even if I don’t advocate it. I was surprised I was killed instead of converted too, but it was Alv and Alv never is a predictable eliminator.
  15. About Walin, I don’t actually support the decision without context. Almost always, a GM adding an eliminator to the game partway through because they’re losing upsets the balance of the game. It’s extremely important for the GM to remain unbiased even with immense bad luck on one side. That said, in this game, where Walin was supposed to be added from the beginning is different to me. There wasn’t a way to add him to either team without upsetting the original balance in some way (except maybe as a third party, but there was already the JOE and I don’t think joe wanted another neutral), so doing as was done this game, I agree with the decision. It’s extremely difficult and not something that should really be done in just about any context, but in this one instance, circumstances demanded a change and this one would benefit the game as whole better than any other option. About proving roles, that’s one thing I wish I had done differently. I decided to go back to an old!Maill move and make up a roleclaim; I didn’t realize how many people would actually claim back. PM safety was apparently not very emphasized recently. I do still advocate trust in games, but in this game, I wouldn’t have actually tried to prove roles if I were to play again as I think it detracts in a lot of ways from the fun of the game. It’s definitely not even close for impossible for an elim team to win in a game with proven roles, it just adds an extra obstacle. But for me personally, this game reminded me that I don’t enjoy proven village roles; even if they exist in the game, they don’t need to be claimed. Lastly, Wilson didn’t play this game, so where would I give her upvotes?
  16. Thanks for the fun game everyone! I know that Gaea wrote the write up because my username has the right numbers. (I still love you, Joe) This game was super fun, even if I started rooting for the spammers once I died. That luck those first two cycles was incredibly bad for them. The access to PMs made it harder and it was good that was taken away. As the resident gambit-taker, I also applaud Alv’s audacity in that tied lynch gambit. He could’ve converted Steel then, but decided to go big or go home. that’s a gambit for the ages. I like the concept, but I’d be careful with a mechanic specifically involving upvotes as that interferes with the purpose of them.
  17. Way to do it again, Kaymyth! Glad to see your writing again. This was a good one and I’m sure Leia’s happily waiting now.
  18. Just a reminder. no need to nominate me. Feel free to nominate better representatives than I.
  19. I like those Lurcher ideas! What about this? Lurcher: A Lurcher can pull metal, so each night, Lurchers stand watch and choose to protect 1-3(subject to change) players. If any of those people are targeted by the eliminators' kill, they are injured. The injury depends on how many people the Lurcher was focused on: if only one, that player will only be injured by not being able to vote the next day; if two, the injured player loses any abilities they have, if the player has no abilities, they lose their vote for the rest of the game; if three players were under the Lurcher's watch, the injured player survives till the end of the next cycle (if this player is a Pewterarm, they survive completely, but due to the amount of pewter they are burning to heal, they aren't able to use their regular pewter ability). I think so too! I'm just not sure it's what I want to do with this game specifically. With the Coinshot, my goal is to have them do something that can interfere with kills, but not stop them. The player list was the only way I could think of doing it without an RNG. And an RNG might not be bad. I could roll for two random players and those would be the Coinshot's two options. Thoughts?
