  1. I won, but did I lose?
  2. Guess who just lost again?
  3. I like the idea of species names. Scientific, or casual? Plants, animals, both?
  4. When someone asks why I just might have had an asthma attack, or maybe just laughed too hard, and it would take too long to explain so you say, "Once upon a time, there was a guy who was so honorable that he didn't like killing people - but someone asked nicely, so he did anyway - and eventually he was reincarnated as Superman." And then die laughing for the second time.
  5. I have a theory that's not that far-fetched... at least, it makes sense to me. [Words of Radiance/Oathbringer] I don't know if anyone else understands my explanation, as weird things tend to come out when I get tired. Goodnight, friends and fellow fans.
  6. Yes, so I've heard. But honestly, I want some help with which ones I can skip, 'cause I really have trouble waiting. (Are all the books dealing with the same characters, or do we get different eras, or does it progress with the time wheel line similarly to the Xanth series, or what?)
  7. Granted. I wish that my internal systems wouldn't disagree so much, in the hope that I'm not in semi-constant, often distracting pain/discomfort of some kind.
  8. Okay, I don't know what the current topic is, but I want to draw as much attention to this thread as possible:
  9. My favorite ship is probably Wax and Steris, but Dalinar and Navani are just so perfect, it's hard to pick!
  10. I wish the English language were more useful... it's difficult to explain.
  11. "Alllllllright..." I move to the counter, idly sweeping a lock of purple hair away from my face. After a few moments of utter silence, "I'd love a root beer, if you have any. Um...The Awakened stew, can it talk? Just curious." I begin to crack my knuckles for no reason, but they're awkwardly loud.
  12. Granted. It's fully functional and smaller than your thumbnail. (On the bright side, that's probably the coolest Christmas ornament ever.) I wish for a pet mist wraith.
  13. Do a handstand.
  14. I magically appear just inside the door and reluctantly take off my headphones to scan and process the room.
  15. I wish for sound-blocking headphones with an actually durable cord that doesn't only work at the weirdest angles after three weeks of use. Please.
  16. SO. STORMING. TRUE My dad just found the entire Wheel of Time series audiobooks online, so I started listening... I just found it hard to focus on the first chapter, since it didn't have enough character development, let alone worldbuilding. It manages to be plenty slow without helping me understand a thing. Brandon's work is just too darn great.
  17. The issues with hating Moash as a person all depend on whether you believe in his agency. He was able to kill Jezrien because he could think of it as just following orders; the element of choice is passed to Odium, as is the blame. But only because Moash perceived it that way. As for his exacting revenge on Elhokar, he focused the king's agency, having accepted the idea that forgetting about, and consequently "murdering" his family [causing deaths by a lack of action], was entirely intentional. Now, the point has been raised that Elhokar treated the lives of an elderly darkeyed couple as inconsequential, which is why he ended up forgetting about them. However, a measure of that is due to his upbringing and position* in society - rather than, say, a conscious conclusion that darkeyes are lesser beings than himself and a decision to regard them accordingly. I think the 'point of no return' here was when Moash killed Elhokar because, after that, he surrendered his identity and his past to Odium; the option always remains to escape his thrall, but to do so, you must reclaim all of your pain, your hames, your faults. (Meaning no just those from before submitting, but after as well. Remember the journey of the Wandersail, how murders committed - even under the deception of the emperor's will - fell on those who'd carried them out, once the excuses were dispelled.)
  18. I think it's largely ignored because there is no penalty for 'losing,' besides acknowledging the fact that one has lost (nothing). Conversely, it's ignored because there is no reward for winning. Also, acknowledging the fact that one 'is winning' would result in an instant loss, and besides that, one can 'win' (gain) nothing by winning or losing by any means. So, what I suppose I'm trying to say boils down to this:
  19. I'm not certain if that counts, because that's really just the transcribed expression of the sound of rushing wind, which is just a placeholder/representation of Evy's name.
  20. Granted. You find corrupted copies on the Internet that contain a virus that only lets you play the offline t-rex game. I wish I were fluent in Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Russian, as in, able to write, read, speak, and hear them all.
  21. Actually, average minds think alike. Great minds gain new perspective. You're welcome.
  22. I just had the strange compulsion to say KAPOW so there you have it.
  23. You get a pair of spanreeds. *inserts an actual tuba*
