Elhokar became a very human character in Oathbringer (and so Brandon was leading us all by the nose, playing the reader's emotions like a DJ as he was killed off). It's so cruel... but I still can't hate the creator of half my soul. The development of the other characters also (Adolin, Pattern, Szeth, etc. (especially Nightblood)) really made the story GO.

If Kal dies, I don't think I'd be okay.. Well, that depends on how he dies, and under what circumstances. Is he slipping into the void peacefully, content with his life? Or is there still something to do? Is his vitality drained without consent? I can't decide on how to feel until I have context.

Navani raised an eyebrow. "Is that really what you want to be talking about now?" ...except that last one. It's an inside joke.
