    Mejin chuckled from her seat. She'd come on account of animal cruelty - having a dog fight a human, except it appeared to not have been necessary. If anything it was going to become human cruelty. Being a duel and all, Mejin considered leaving, her job as a vegetarian done, but she was curious about how this was going to go. She leaned back, relaxing, and took a bite of popcorn.

    Mejin let out a string of curses. She'd tried, but that hadn't been enough. Her hand reached into her pocket to grab her way to TUBA headquarters, but she stopped herself. Now was not the time for a security breach in addition to everything. Something moved in the corner of her eye. It was the mistbeaver scuttling off. She let it be and turned to Li TaiRu. Based on the limited knowledge she had of Hemalurgy, he was alive. The spikes somehow didn't kill people. That much was a relief. Oh, rusts. she thought, finally realizing that she had actually arrived. Hope the girl didn't hear that profanity. "Well," she said, the humor of the situation sinking in, "Next time someone sends out an invite, we'd better be prepared for incoming catastrophe since that appears to becoming a theme."

    They found themselves of the roof of the building. She immediately moved over to a shingle and pried free a second tia card she'd left there earlier. "This one leads away to Devaan's training ground," she said, in explanation. "Part of a longer escape route through neutral enough territory to lose any tails, but I don't think your top priority. No offense." Mejin held it out. "Come or stay here in the open. Your choice." @Arlin
