  6. The drawers are gateways to other worlds, and other sources of magic. Drawercerors collect these magical cabinets, and use them to construct strongholds, giving them ready access to whatever they need - providing they are near the proper cabinet when they need it. Some grant access to worlds of mighty beasts, some to dimensions of storage, while others to sources of magic that can be tapped. The drawback is that to gain this great power, one must place their soul into an untainted cabinet. But if a Drawerceror's SoulCabinet is destroyed, they will be forced to wander the land in a state of undeath as one of the Empty Drawers... Twitter.

  8. Lets see how well this works. I'm not even sure if General Discussion is the right place, but if it isn't I can move my own thread. So nyah. Not like we have a games thread anyway... When someone else made a post about forum games, I thought it'd be a good idea to come up with some that are Brandon-inspired. As we all know, Brandon Sanderson is known for his clever and innovative magic systems, from Oculation in the Alcatraz books to the numerous systems within The Stormlight Archive. This gave me an idea. The idea is simple, even if the execution might not be. The first person (which would be me) posts a word or an idea, and the next poster has to create a magic system based around that idea. For example: Poster #1: Refrigerator Magnetic Poetry Poster #2: Spells are cast through assembling the correct incantation with magnetic poetry tiles. These tiles are placed on a portable metal clipboard of some kind, which direct the magic like a wand. Only heavier. Yes, that example was lame. These systems do not need to be complex in any way - you can post a few lines or an entire paragraph if you wish. It's all up to you. After you've posted, leave something for next person to make a system off of. Try and be clever or funny, and remember, it doesn't even have to be logical - nobody will judge you on how good it is. Well, we probably will, but it's all in good fun. And who knows, maybe this will spark an idea for an aspiring writer out there As first poster, I have no magic system to create. However, I do get to start things off, and the next poster has to create a magic system based off of: Those Crusty Things You Find In The Corners of Your Eyes When You Wake Up.
  9. I'm gonna jump the gun and say "no" on that last one for the moment. However, you'd likely have to check with The Lord Ruler to get a definitive answer. In regards to other forum games, I am not against them at all. Three word story is a fun one, as is neverending story. I'm thinking an association game that ties into the books somehow, like a character naming game, where one has to post with a character's name that begins with the last letter of the name of the previous character posted. Ooh, I just had an idea...
  10. I'm gonna change mine. While the talent for hurting oneself by accident is a great one, I believe my true Smedryness is actually manifest through my talent of acting upon really stupid ideas when I get bored. As this often leads to hurting myself, I'm certain now that I have discovered my true talent.
  11. I'm 65% sure this guy is a spambot. If he's not, then I offer him my sincere apologies. Yeah, I'm quite certain as well. To what purpose, I don't know - it doesn't seem to be selling anything or linking to anything. If this person is, indeed, a real person, then I apologize - and tell them to make a post referencing Brandon Sanderson and/or one of the books, or Kar will bring the BanAxe down on his spambot head.
  12. Let me get this straight. Inkwing.com, THE Inkwing.com, is having a contest, in which you can win one of the many fine shirts of Inkwing.com? Amazing! And all you have to do is link to Inkwing.com? Nothing else, just post a link to www.inkwing.com? And every link to the site (inkwing.com, right? ) counts as a single entry for this contest on inkwing.com? It's so easy! Easy as remembering www.inkwing.com! xD [/shameless]
  13. Ah, someone else who makes that typo. I swear, the keys are so close together...
  14. Read the first one. Took 200 pages for anything to happen that I really cared about, and then a bit longer to get to any character I could care about. The end was greatly unsatisfying as well. It was hardly an endorsement for me to pick up the second, although I do have it and will eventually read it. I've been devouring anything by Jim Butcher lately. I finished all the current Dresden books, and I've almost finished Codex Alera. I dread when I do because then I have to wait until later this month for anything new.
  15. Sazed is not the Seventeenth Shard. There were sixteen. Ruin was one, and Preservatin was one. They both died. 16 - 2 = 14. However, Sazed holds both Ruin and Preservation. Two shards, still separate, except being held by one person. That makes sixteen. He is not a new shard, he's two old ones. Second (because the previous part was First), what little we know about the 17th is from the Letter Epigraphs, in which they were mentioned. What was mentioned of them did not sound like Sazed. And if it was Sazed, I doubt he would call himself "The Seventeenth Shard." Third, Sazed is not the Seventeenth Shard. Because, as shown below in the epigraph from chapter 26, the Seventeenth Shard is referred to in the pural. Boldness added by me. Therefore, you are wrong. The closest you are to being right is that Sazed could be a PART of Seventeenth Shard, but I doubt this as well.
  16. In truth, there are ten shards because it didn't look good with more than that. The original idea was for sixteen, with the shard itself being the 17th. Maybe someday I'll redesign it to make sixteen pieces work. For now, though, it's good.
  17. Ye have the support of the Pirate Monkey Clan! Shiro must be eliminated!

  19. With my hair, I often get customers at the store refer to me as "her" or "she" or "miss" until I turn around. And even then, some very young kids ask, quite loudly, "Is that a girl?" I guess I'm just too pretty...
  20. I probably can't afford to go. Would love to, though. Do you know the exact date?
  21. Awww... I was planning to make those...
