Hi! Welcome to the 17th Shard! Who is your favorite supporting character from the cosmere? What are you looking to do on the website? do you just want to ask some questions and get some answers? or do you want a more in-depth experience? There are many opportunities to join RP games, and other fun areas! There's meme pages, and other small games played over Chat! My personal favorite is Sanderson Elimination, which you can read more about in my signature below!

I think one thing to remember, is that the typical role distribution may need to be changed, because on a one night, or two night version, in order for elims and villagers to have close to a 50/50 chance of winning, the role distribution may need to change.
-
I like that. I personally think that the option 1 is the best for that style, then you can mix different styles. It could be like a mini tournament, where each cycle is a new mini game, and players gain points based on their role for that game. It might need an extra GM or M or IM to help regulate everything. Nice! Welcome to the Shard! Watch out for spiked baked goods, and enjoy yourself! We have forums for almost any interest! RP, Memes, Meta discussion, Theories, Non-Sanderson work, and my personal favorite, Sanderson Elimination, which is a subcategory of RP, where we play mafia style games over the internet! So have you listened to all of his cosmere works so far? Who's your favorite character?

I'm interested. And if you base it on Mistborn, the sample game I created could be one of the cycles. Mine could act as a part of a larger game, or a standalone.
-
Yes, there is a link to them here: Sanderson Elimination They are just one of the topics on the forum. They are all done over text, so they aren't as fast-paced and tense as the real party game, but you are able to do lot's of analysis and it's super fun.

Welcome to the Shard! What's your favorite Cosmere series? And who is your favorite supporting character in that series? There are plenty of topics for discussion, or if you want to get more involved, there are also RP topics, memes, Mafia-style elimination games and more! I myself am a huge fan of the Sanderson Elimination, and if you have enough extra time, you could come over and watch a game, or join us!

I was thinking like 24-48 hours to put in actions, just so everyone has time to do so, then 48-72 to discuss, once again, so everyone has time to discuss, then respond if they want. It would be a role madness, role claim madness and role change madness style game.

So, I've created a rough draft version of a One Night or 1C (one cycle) game, as I referenced in my previous post. This is what I have, I think it would be fun to try it as an experiment, and if it's fun, it could maybe be implemented as a new game-style. Would anyone be willing to provide feedback on the game, or have any questions? Because the game is a little bit different style, from my experience in live face to face versions, a better balance in this game is between 25 and 35% elim.

I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but there is a version of werewolf, called One Night, where you only play a one night version of the game. Are there any One-cycle versions of SE out there? If not, I would be willing to create some game mechanics for one, and post it here for feedback, as a new style of game. There is also a character that I find extremely fun, and it's called the Tanner. The Tanner's whole goal is to be the one to be lynched at the end of the night. if he is lynched, then he wins, and everyone else loses. Would there be a way to adapt a character like that into the continuous games, like "If [Hoid] is killed, then he fulfills his Win con, and sets off a timer/bomb that marks a definite end of game (for example: 3 cycles later) In order for any other teams to win, they must fulfill their wincon by that time." I think it could be fun, because then you can make very powerful characters, that would usually throw off the balance, but they would have to be more cautious to use any kill powers, because killing off the wrong guy can destroy your team

This will be my first QF game, so I think it'll be fun. Sign me up as Artin Aldenadel, a Cadmium Compounder, who is from Elendel, but through a freak electrical accident, accidentally time traveled back to the time of the Final Empire.

Sorry for doing a new post, but I feel like the topic is significantly different, and I'm not going to be able to contribute for much longer this cycle, and I wanted to get people to have a discussion. I've analyzed D1, and part of N1 again, with Len being Elim in mind. In my opinion Bugsy actually did a good job at pinning Len early on in their argument, causing Len to grasp for straws, (which is funny, because I literally grasped for @Straw that cycle Then I let go.) During his time Grasping for straws, I noticed two people in particular who joined the conversation, to try to "de-escalate" it for lack of a better term. The first is Fifth Scholar, who did so, then near the end of the cycle retracted a vote from Devotary to put an extra layer of cement on Araris. Fifth scholar tended to side with Bugsy in the argument. Which in my opinion would be a good strategy for an Elim, Side with the Bugsy, but try to get bugsy to leave Len alone, so he can go under the radar. The second person that caught my eye was Randuir. I like to think I've been working with Randuir most of the game, but in SE, you can never trust even your closest colleagues. So I tried to pay attention to him as well. Randuir slowly ended up mostly agreeing with Fifth Scholar. Then, after doing that, he tried to change the topic to a lynch. Against me of all people!! He later explained why he did that without any request to do so. That seems very typical of Rand, but I also do remember reading a couple of times that Rand is a difficult player to read. SO... I came to the conclusion that either @Fifth Scholar is Elim, or @randuir is Elim. I want to start a discussion, so I am going to place a vote on Rand for now. (Rand, depending on how the discussion goes, and if I have time to get back on, I will remove that vote. I would like to continue to work together, but I just want to get some discussion going hopefully.) Edit: I know that this analysis is much shorter than my other analyses. But I don't have a whole lot of time this time around, sorry about that for those who were looking forward to my next long post.

Welcome to the Shard! What forums have been your favorite to follow and watch since you've had your account?

I think I will refrain from voting this cycle, because I haven't looked back at anyone's interactions with Elenion yet to suspect anyone else, and I don't think I will have time to do so. I will try to though. So I might vote, but don't count on it. Also, I am going to be inactive this weekend. Weekends are generally more difficult for me, but this weekend I will be out of town. So expect very few posts from me. I will try to at least keep up on reading all the posts though.

True, We do have a lot more information. I think the Elims decided to kill El, thinking that she would have saved Len. So then it would have been one Elim saved, and upped the odds of winning for the elims. After Len was saved, they probably wanted El dead because that means she can't save any villagers. Fortunately for us, unfortunately for the Elims, and (kind of) fortunately for El, it looks like her plan was to wait until she had 2 miracle pills, so she could use one for herself, if needed, and one for someone else. Apparently the Elims don't like the Idea of a Neutral player helping the village wincon. Edit: 100th Post! That's something worth living for!

Val already claimed man in Black, so Sart can't be. I forgot that Val had done that already during my analysis, so it's flawed.

A few Nursery rhymes to put little Alvron to sleep. Humperdink Humperdink! The Squid and his Ink! He will now moderate This game that is great! Miracle Max Avoided the Axe He didn't step on the Road That the Elims did Explode As you wish, Buttercup I'm sorry we broke up When I came back, too late You'd been lynched as your fate I was once Man in Black Now I'm Regular Jack My love has been killed And I have fallen ill. Oh Gilder, Oh Gilder I'll say that you killed her I'll be stronger than ever Us Elims are clever. ---------------------------------------------- I have realized a mistake I made in my analysis of Sart, due to a PM I had with someone. So I said that I suspected that Sart could be the man in black, but Now I remember that val already claimed such a role. I still think Sart is village, but instead of leaning moderate to strong village with him, I now only lean slightly village.

I did a quick look at Eternum, and you do bring up a good point, but I don't think the Elim team would have the same make the mistake of having someone vote on the Lynchee two turns in a row. It makes that person immediately look suspicious. I could be wrong though. I have actually wanted to look at Sart, partly because he also voted on Len(Oh wait, so did I, I had better analyze myself, so that I can make sure I'm not an Elim), and partly because he is not getting much analysis for the most part. But for now, I will focus on Sart. I like what I did with my analysis of Elenion, so I will put the actual analysis in a spoiler for length, then put a summary at the end. As I performed my analysis, I went through C1, and I was convinced Sart was Elim. But as I continued, I got partway throuch C2, and decided to look back at C1 with clearer hindsight, and decided that he could be either, and by the End of C2, I am actually leaning village with him, with my suspected role for him in the above spoiler. I was convinced early on that by the end of this, I would be placing my Day vote on Sart, But now I'll have to reconsider. I will wait until tomorrow to analyze my new suspected Elim though. In all seriousness, This is my favorite analysis that I've performed this game so far. I really think I am close with this one. I sure hope I am now wrong! Edit: @Snipexe, You have been vocally suspicious of Sart, Albeit in poem, What do you feel about my analysis? Edit #2: @Sart I want to make sure that you see this post as well, so that you can respond your thoughts to it.

The villagers are losing bed, Which is really really sad. The village has lost at least now, The elims are hiding and we don't know how. We'll soon reach LyLo at this rate of attrition It's even worse because I don't have a suspicion. The good news now is that night is upon us. We can open new PMs so we have more to discuss.

So, I noticed the same thing when I was doing my analysis of Elenion. So I thought back to my first games, when I did something, I wanted people to talk about it, even if it was small. So My immediate reaction was to think that they might be the man in black. But Val just said this: That seems as clear of a role-claim as I've seen. (It rivals Kidpen's from his first game, which was also my first game) But Val even provided evidence, which makes it very likely that she's telling the truth So that made me start thinking that Mr. Doctor could possible be Elim trying to just find out the reasoning behind the shot. maybe behind the death of a teammate. But Mr. Doctor, even though it's his first game seems smarter than making a move like that. My vote is currently on Elenion, because I have a slight elim read on him, by reading the posts. But my gut is telling me to go with Bugsy or Doctor. Hopefully my analysis of Bugsy will end with time for me to explore Mr. Doctor as well.

Mid-Range Game 29: A Midsummer Night with No Moon
CadCom replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I found this game fun! So as you all know, I was the Ciridae. And, as many of you can expect, I just got lucky D1 with choosing the lynch target. I didn't really suspect Elandera based off any post, but my Gut read told me to choose him. Also I put that order in about 13 hours before rollover, and the D1 lynch changed a lot after that, so really, it just was complete luck. Other than that, I didn't really have a whole lot of a good idea what was going on, and I partially blame that to not knowing the real story, and being a bit busy. I hope everyone I was able to associate with enjoyed the insight that I was able to give them.- 406 replies
