  2. One hour left for votes and actions!
  3. The names will appear as they voted in the thread and the numbers will be adjusted to match the end result. EDIT: Additionally, rollover may be slow tonight. I started getting sick last night and now my brain is in a fog.
  4. I can't remember if I responded to this yet. But no, it cannot be used to cast a no-vote, as that is instead its consequence.
  5. Day One: The Call I hear him. In my dreams, in that quiet time between moments, in the dark of night amidst the shades, I hear him. I must go to him. Awaken him. Return the god to this world of death so that he may reign. He calls, and I hear him. Day one begins! Everyone should have received their GM PM. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. Don't forget to read your roles, abilities and items carefully *looking at you, Araris...* This turn will end Wednesday, April 26 at 8:30 p.m. PDT / Thursday, April 25 at 1:30 p.m. AEST. 6. Oh, sign-ups are closed. I'm working on getting the roles and such distributed. The first turn should be up in an hour or so.
  7. I will gladly take you as a player! Please ping me if you're ever confused or want clarification.
  8. Hello! I may delay the close of signups. This game should ideally run with at least 10-12 players.
  9. It would mean the latter. If you take an action that may have an insanity consequence, you will have that consequence chance rolled whether or not you've previously been insane.
  10. When I ventured to the edges of civilization, I had been told the only dangers were the shades and the people. Certainly, those are enough in their own right, but you can learn how to handle them. Follow the Simple Rules, they had said. Do not kindle a flame. Do not shed the blood of another. Do not run during the night. It requires nothing more than being careful. Even the people are easy to manage with enough practice. What they never said was that shades were not the only reason there were no predators in the Forest of Hell. No. Something much darker, much older, lives in the mists. And it must be awakened. I must awaken it... “Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.” Welcome to Long Game 94: The Call of the Forests of Hell! This is a rerun of LG60/LG76, which I have dubbed Threnody Lite. The game is set on Threnody with influences from H.P. Lovecraft's Call of Cthulhu. This game has similar insanity and shade mechanics as before, but a lot of the roles and other actions have been reduced, which should make it easier for everyone. @StrikerEZ will be the IM. You can find the rules here or below. Premise: Horrors lurk in the Forests of Hell. Threnody is not a kind world. As a homesteader, you have chosen to face the cruelty of the world head-on. The Simple Rules have saved you more times than you can say. But shades aren’t the only horror in those dark forests. Something older, something much darker sleeps. Strange artifacts hint at this creature’s existence, and its current state—dead yet dreaming. It waits for when its followers will call it forth, out of its house at R’lyeh to once again dominate the world. Followers driven insane by their desperate need to wake the one they call Cthulhu. General Rules: PMs are closed Players can take one action during each Day and Night turn (unless otherwise stated) Day turns will be 48 hours long; Night turns will be 24 hours long There is a one-vote minimum for the exe Tied votes will be decided at random Players who do not post at least once every two turns will be replaced or removed Elim kills, crossbow kills, and Shade attacks will not be differentiated; Survivals are not announced Alignments: Roles: Abilities: Actions: Items: Other Rules: Order of Actions: This sign-ups will end Monday, April 24 at 8:30 p.m. PDT / Tuesday, April 25 at 1:30 AEST. The game will begin shortly after. Player List: Rule Clarifications: Quick Links:
  11. It is standard for things to be decided mostly by RNG, but for balance, things are usually adjusted. Such as if RNG had given the elims Cord, Lopen and Huio, that would have been extremely unbalanced in favor of the elims. Even simply giving them Cord is a bit of an imbalance because with the village blindness, even having Lopen and Huio isn't really enough to counter two nightly kills in such a small game. My request to Cord is to hit Ash tonight. That may lead to some IKYKs since it's not really known if Cord actually attacked or was blocked. I think there's a good possibility that Cord wasn't blocked last night and held off on their action because the player list is already small. Also, I don't think Ash and TJ have to necessarily be on opposite teams, especially with those vote patterns.
  12. I'm definitely still leaning towards an Ash/Wiz team. If nothing else, I do believe Ash as Lopen makes most sense as an elim. Yes, yes, I know I just said not to clear or accuse based on role alone, but it's a few things in combination with the role. One thing I've seen again and again is a tendency for elims to vote on their teammates, but never actually stay there. Wiz had done this a couple of times in D1 and D2 (the most common place for this type of elim activity). I'm willing to throw TJ into this group conditionally for the same reasons, however some of his jumping appears to have been from self-preservation votes.
  13. Araris Valerian (2): Telrao, The Known Novel The Known Novel (3): Araris Valerian, JNV, Ashbringer TheAlpha929 (1): The Wandering Wizard JNV (1): The Alpha929 The Wandering Wizard (1): Elandera I've done some more reviewing, and I still get bad vibes from Wizard's voting patterns.
  14. Well, I now realize I had some fundamental misconceptions of the rules and timing. Specifically, Huio. Ash I'm going to go sit in the box of shame for a minute before I start throwing votes around again.
  15. Because my gut read is on Wizard specifically. I knew about Ash's Lopen claim. My statement you quoted was intended more as postulation than fact/perceived fact. It was the counter possibility to Araris' statement. In a game where roles are NAI, it is important not to clear or accuse based solely on the role. Wizard's vote seems more suspicious, and if he is elim, Ash!Lopen is more likely to be elim. Hence why I am voting Wiz.
  16. Keep in mind, I have not looked closely at timing and step-by-step vote counts for D1 circumstances. Hear me out, though. Lopen is elim. Elim!Lopen would be a great (but not always reliable) counter to v!Cord, as well as other village roles. Again, I need to look at the status of votes at that time, but the first Wiz vote looks like distancing, followed by moving away once the train grows. I could be wildly off base if my timing assumptions are wrong. Once I get on desktop, I'll be able to break it down and get a better idea.
  17. One final announcement (hopefully)! Please welcome @StrikerEZ as SE's newest moderator! We are excited to have him join us after so many years of being part of this community.
  18. Hello players! It's me again. I'm sure you love seeing my gold text, so here is some more for your enjoyment. As a reminder to all players, your actions and your votes are your own. No player should be pressured into making a choice they would not have made on their own just because someone else told them they should. Players hoping to achieve certain outcomes need to be clear to make it a request as to avoid mayoring. Additionally, going against someone's request is not alone cause for removal/exing. Thank you all. You may now return to your regularly scheduled shenanigans.
  19. Hello players! While seeing such active engagement is awesome, there have been a lot of concerns over the sheer volume of posts and pages in this game. I ask that you please keep posts game-relevant and purposeful. Of course, we still want you to have fun, but it's important to balance that with keeping the game accessible to those who have busier schedules.
  20. Hello players! Go read the rules. Copy/pasting from your GM PM, any docs you can access, and any other PM is explicitly forbidden in the rules of SE. It is even more important in a blackout format to not share the exact wording of your role. You can summarize (or even lie). But you are not allowed to use direct wording.
