  1. even better, to clear the terminal you should use the form feed character '\f' 0x0D
  2. 7 books into Malazan, enjoying it immensely. And I convinced my mum to try Rothfuss, she's enjoying it so far, just started WMF
  3. Welcome to our corner of the internet Elfindance, be prepared for madness... though not from me, of course, for I am perfectly sane!
  4. Hey there Windrunner, you shouldn't worry about your response time, we're all to busy reading (or theorising, in Eric's case) to mind A Shadowmarch reread is on my todo list, probably after I've finished Malazan (in under a month >.> lol), Tad's other stories are great too. I hope you get into WoT since I enjoyed it soooo much, though it's been eclipsed a little since starting Brandon and Rothfuss (and now, as I said, Malazan...which fills my quota for big books XD). Joe
  5. and the up-and-coming/next year's release The Rithmatist (Scribbler) Welcome zyklon. I agree that he's one of the best ever (and would hazard to suggest that most of the other members agree too ) Joe

  10. yes, they need your email address so they can email you the link to sign-up/attach your Google account to G+. And they do send out the invites rather quickly, so there's no worries about getting lost in the system. You'll have to give one of us your email address.
  11. Well hello there I'm the resident wikiscientist... which means I basically maintain all the custom stuff on the Coppermind that makes it easier and nicer to read/edit. When I find myself a copy of Liar I'll be sure not to tell any of you guys lol Not that it'll ever happen XD You certainly are a long-standing fan *jealous*
  12. aha!, the effects of Elantris on the Dor and thus Shadesmar, ooooooh
  13. and does their (taken) breath dissipate?
  14. So you think they are pulses from the Origin that expand out around the whole world? the problem there is that the contraction after the equator to the antiOrigin would lead to backlash, I'd hate to live there lol... and Shinovar will cause refraction?
  15. thanks for that *hack* lol
  16. indeed, tis a mystery
  17. hah, weird...congrats to you two I guess
  18. Hello there nice to see you Joe
  19. Wooohooooo
  20. Well usually, planets are formed by rotating debris from the star formation. The star's rotation is similar to the orbit rotation. The planet's rotation (which defines the pole names), generates the magnetic field which would cause magnetic north to be the same direction (minus the random pole swaps that happen). But since they've been round quite a while I'm sure they'd have either realised that magnetic pole can swap, else it hasn't and still points to the real north. It's also true that we might be overthinking this kinda thing

  22. As in the spell checker built into your browser? You should be able to right click on it and say 'add to dictionary'. I don't see one on the post box so I'm sorry if I'm talking about the wrong thing.
  23. maybe the inner Aon Aon's bounds lay the Shaod's effects, the outer lays the reach of Aonic effect...
  24. Interesting observations, I'll take a look when I get a chance. Thanks and welcome, you should go introduce yourself .
