  1. I suppose that it also depends on your definition of a good adaptation. Plenty of adaptations get the story/plot down, but miss the spirit of the book entirely. Ex: some of the earlier Gatsby adaptations. Also, @Johhny_Eastland, I wouldn't say that most book films are bad, per say. LOTR was fairly good, as were the HP films.
  2. @Firerust, you've done it again! Seriously, I spent so much time on this game in my youth. Seeing it Cosmere-ifyed is really cool. Also, fully support the Urithiru Comet Observatory. What if the Toad Brigade were members of the in-world 17th Shard? After all they're always hopping round the various galaxies, much akin to the 17th Shard. Also, slightly related, Navi is Link's spren. "Hey! Listen! Say the Words!"
  3. I do think it would look ridiculous in anything outside a highly stylized animated show/film. The very stylized nature of BioChroma itself is well suited to animation.
  4. Honestly, as long as it's a good adaptation, doesn't really matter what form it takes. (honestly, Warbreaker is the only Cosmere book that I have specific hopes for, adaptation wise) (also, I just started taking an Adaptation class, where I should learn more about the process of transferring stories through vastly different mediums. I'll pop back in if anything there is particularly relevant to the plight of the Cosmere.)
  5. Were you responding to me? If so, I will admit to not being very knowledgeable about the genre. I don't watch anime primarily because it has never really appealed to me, quite honestly.
  6. While it's unlikely to happen, I really think Warbreaker would work 2D animated. Breath, the vibrant colors, and the general exaggerated visual flare of Awakening, even the somewhat visual exaggerations of the Returned's physical appearance would fit a stylistic animated show/film. (think 2d Clone Wars, although I grew up on the 3d Clone Wars). On the anime issue, there are times where it works. I;e Avatar:TLA or the Netflix Voltron reboot. However, there are times where it doesn't work. Equally worth noting, is the general stigma surrounding anime, which might keep the general public from accepting it. (note that I don't necessarily think that that stigma is a good thing, and I have nothing against those who enjoy anime)
  7. *car salesman slaps Ghostbloods* These bad boys can fit so much useful information
  8. Well someone likes to live dangerously.
  9. Hi, I'm Wyndlerunner. I used to lie awake nights, contemplating the mysteries of the Cosmere, I got no sleep, so I was too tired to read during the day. Then, I discovered Arcanum. It helped me alleviate my insatiable curiosity, and helped me get my life back together. I would recommend Arcanum to anyone suffering from Sandersitis. (If you are currently using Arcanum and have not improved, ask your book vendor about our extra strength treatment: Arcanum Unbounded)
  10. I like that questioner.
  11. Lightsong comes, and none of your financial indiscretions shall escape his mighty gaze!
  12. Totally get the spoiler trolling thing. When @Box Turtle was reading WoR for the first time this summer, she was expressing her desire to shank Sadeas to me. I said "yeah, you kinda just want to stab him through the eye, right?" and had no idea that I had spoiled Sadeas' death for her.
  13. I think I've at least teared up in every Sanderson book that I've read. the man is a god when it comes to emotions. The Fires of Heaven (the docks. Nuff said) Harry Potter and the half-blood prince (I have a soft spot for mentor characters) The Return of the King (Poor Frodo) I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones that come to mind first)
  14. Going to have to agree with this statement. I second this motion!
  15. Kalak's phantoms is my new favorite crossover
  16. I'm tempted to buy a 2nd copy, this is such a good deal
  17. @Firerust, so that's where that came from... My profile pic is generic. Provided to me by the Shardic Overlords
  18. This is true. Sticks have a strong sense of Identity, so therefore It's safe to assume that it would stick (pun intended) to its personal code. An attribute that a proto Skybreaker would find appealing I'm sure.
  19. Well, he knows that Szeth following his "Magic Rock" is not a good idea, so I guess he might be smarter than we give him credit for.
