  1. Would that be equivalent to a PG-13 over here across the pond?
  2. I was actually talking more along the lines of TV-14? TV-MA? What should I expect on that front
  3. Oh my gosh that is a Watership Down reference!
  4. Okay, on New Spring, My advice is after Fires of Heaven or Knife of Dreams. It's a pretty quick read compared to the rest of the series.
  5. Has anyone actually watched it yet? Amazon's rating system is weird, and I want to know what level of content to expect if I do watch it (Which is highly likely because I read and loved the book)
  6. Once you finish adding all the orders in there, I could see this working really well, and now I wanna homebrew a Roshar setting for a D&D campaign...
  7. That should work, how does one join?
  8. "My surges are just plain weird" James added in, "They're the same surges, but they manifest in different ways." He stood up and shook Jason's hand, "I don't believe we've officially met" He said, "I'm James Freeman."
  9. I agree with you here. However, I approach this as a matter of preference- If it's gonna be a visual medium, then it has got to be fully visual, none of this inbetween graphic novel stuff.
  10. I am now Jaddeth's Reagent on Earth. You have my permission to kneel;)

  11. I actually meant the time commitment actually RPing, like how much time per day can I expect to need to write?
  12. Well, there just so happens to be that very thing on this very thread. (tis about Syl, though)
  13. I would love to join this RP, 'specially since my good friend, @Firerust is involved, but I just want to know what sort of time commitment I'd be getting into if I wanted to join...
  14. Well, putting aside my mild book OCD about reading series out of order, I would suggest either just plain googling 'Stormlight Archive Yeddaw fanart' or just letting your son's creative juices flow, and have him draw the city as he envisions. As for other options, I think the Roshar world map could be pretty useful, along with maybe some Highstorm/Everstorm fan art, as that's a pretty ubiquitous part of Rosharan ecology and environment Hope this helps! (at least it wil end up better than the one other SA school project I've seen where only one of the 3 key quotes it used was actually from SA)
  15. "I suppose She doesn't have much experience dealing with spren of such a level as ours" James mused, "I mean, The Nightwatcher physically protected me from Sha-thoexis' blows"
  16. Do you wanna build a snowman?
  17. James perked up immediately, "Carrot Cake?" he said with eager eyes paralleled only by children on Christmas morning. "I will take some, please." Turning back to Draug and Doc, he responded, "I think The Nightwatcher interfered somehow."
  18. James shuddered, listening to Doc and Draug's conversation. "Somehow, I could recognize what she was, even in my dream." James chimed in, "Is that normal, Draug?"
  19. I love Rand- Just a beautiful transformative arc, and his interactions with LTT are some of the most interesting I've read Egwene- I really relate to Egwene a lot, and I find her arc as Amyrlin to be one of the most fun to read even in the slump Mat- Who doesn't love Mat? No seriously, who doesn't? Nynaeve- As a sort of elder sibling figure/guardian, I really relate to her motives in joining the Ta'veren and Eggy on their journey. Also, her and Lan's relationship is so gosh dang healthy. Aviendha- All the Aiel are super interesting, and Avi is just kind of a bean. Perrin- Perrin is the kind of person I would look up to IRL, He's just so committed to his moral code, and that's something I share with him. Moiraine- I have a thing for mentor characters. I hate Cadsuane- To quote Brandon himself "Cadsuane, you're not my real mom. I want my real mom back, and her name is Moiraine" The Shaido Aiel- couldn't they have just been done after Dumai's Wells Liandrin- She's so obviously Black Ajah from the moment you meet her, and I really hate her for being the cause of Egwene's tenure as a Damane Gawyn- Randland's number 1 Emo, who makes rash unplanned decisions
  20. What I am about to write here has been brewing in my head for some time now, and while it may be controversial, I feel that I must put this out there:

I hate fan entitlement. In fact I absolutely despise this idea that fans of any given thing "Deserve" any given thing (except of course things like, GRRM and Pat Rothfuss actually finishing their series sometime this century). For instance, using an example that may be dear to most of us here on the Shard: The Lost Metal, and Children of the Nameless. Brandon had mentioned several times wanting to write TLM during late 2018 (after Starsight). However, as we now are aware, this didn't happen- because Brandon had accepted an opportunity to write a novella for Magic: The Gathering. Post its release I began noticing reactions of disappointment that Brandon had written this instead of TLM (A reaction I marginally agree with). Disappointment is a perfectly valid reaction, and I have no problem with being disappointed in something. However, it was when these reactions became viscerally more extreme that I began to have a problem in this specific example. Phrases like "A betrayal of the fans" began to be thrown around, along with the implication that Brandon had committed some sort of cardinal sin in accepting an offer to write lore for something he loves. This is where I feel like disappointment becomes something infinitely more irrational; when we get to this point where we feel that Brandon pushing back a Mistborn book is some kind of denial of our birthright (hehe, see what I did there?) Now, I want TLM as much as the next fellow, but in no way is Brandon writing a Free  novella some sort of slight against us. And this is not the only fandom I've seen this whining (it is what it is, no use sugarcoating it), and entitled accusations in. (Star Wars fandom, anyone?) I don't think it's OK, or even warranted to be throwing out these kinds of accusations. I mean at least our favorite author actually writes!

Thank you for coming to my TED Rant, Disagree with me all you may, (Or ya know, agree), but my opinion on this matter is pretty much final.
