    So today, September 16th, is the 12th anniversary of Robert Jordan's passing. And although I didn't read the series until after his death, I think there is a great deal to be said to that man's writing ability, and to his impact on the world of the fantasy genre.

      What an awesome guy!! I’m middway through the wheel of time right now, and let me say, there is no other author like him! I’m sad that he’s gone, but his impact on the fantasy genre, and Earth as a whole, will last for at least a few more Ages.

    I honestly don't think that the agelessness is super necessary to portray Aes Sedai accurately, they could just have it so that "Oh, Aes Sedai usually look younger than they are"

    "I'm sorry, but I can't tell you that you're wrong" James said, letting his head hang downward. "If I'd known what she was planning, I would have tried to sway her mind." "If this is anyone's fault, it's mine."

    James' eyes widened in sudden understanding. "Do you remember last night, when I talked about the Nightwatcher's Boons and Banes?" He asked. "Well," he continued, "Cassie came to me last night, and asked the Nightwatcher for the power of a full Willshaper." He shuddered. "I had no power in the ordeal, and the Nightwatcher seems quite infuriated by the proposition- but it's part of her duty to grant boons." He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "No, it shouldn't work this way, but I don't know how to reverse it."

    James noticed the obvious panic in Shana's voice, and looked at her, concerned. "What is it Shana?" he asked, with an edge to his voice.

    This actually exists for Mistborn! The Mistborn Adventure Game is a game in the vein of D&D, by Crafty Games. They have stuff for both Era 1 and Era 2

    So, I wouldn't necessarily say that this character's luck 'fails', rather that the character's luck puts them where they need to be, but not where they want to be.

    So, If you've ever read The Wheel of Time, there's a character in there (Whom I shall not name, to avoid spoilers) who develops luck based abilities. The way Jordan wrote the story caused this character's luck to always aid in overall character development, but still land the character in tricky situations quite a bit. I think this was a great direction to take these powers, because it doesn't always get the character out of issues, but rather, gets them into issues which to be frank, they'd rather not be in.

    Well, I am now officially, a college student.

    So, as of Monday, I may be slightly less active, so as to keep up with classes. I'll try to keep up on my RP obligations though, so fear not^_^.
