    The Haunt smiled, circling LauerlaI, though no one could see it. “Well, curiosity is good.” Mystery meant they paid more attention to him. “But there are some things which cannot be explained.” Someone seemed to stare right at him, however. The Haunt stopped right in his tracks. A horneater. Who could see him? The Haunt floated forward, close to him. “You can see me,” he whispered. To the horneater, he appeared as a lean man dressed in coats and scarves. A narrow face currently locked in surprise. “Oh, Harmony,” —— Alask saw how Lena stopped, and just stood there, looking at her hands. “Uh...” Alask began, keeping his voice low. “Do you still steal?     “Oh, no, I don’t need anything,” he said to Lena, then leaned forward in a whisper. “I can control it — him, now. Sort of.” “I remember her,” Shez whispered to Alask. “She... poisoned me.” Poisoned us, Alask reminded him. And it was for a good purpose. You were going to kill everyone on that plane. “Is she dangerous?” Yes, but to us, right now. *** The Haunt hovered, attracting more dust to its outline. Slowly, it began gliding over the tops of the heads of others, slowly listening, observing. Suddenly, the dust disapated, like whatever keeping it in place had left. A moment later, a chill came through the air, and a hushed whisper was heard in Laurelai’s and Lita’s ears. “Well, I must say I love the attention.” @Sorana @Voidus @ZincAboutIt

    “Yes,” Lusk interrupted. Nothing is perfect. If you really wanted to make this foolproof, we’d waste so much of our economy on each spiking, and even then it would be taken advantage of. You can’t stop these things. We’ll just have to see what loopholes people take, and close them off when it happens, instead of trying to think of every contingency.” Lusk sat down.

    “Oh, it’ll be over soon, one way or another,” Wilhelm muttered, and then walked to the doorman, and smiled at him in his best not-creepy face, but with an eyepatch, crooked yellow teeth, and blood around your mouth there was so much you could do. “Hullo, we were wondering where the doctor is? And that little squeal I heard? Is that another one of your fancy ettmetals?” The inventions these maskless came up with still astounded him. Of course, Wilhelm didn’t have a mask either, after it was taken away.

    Wilhelm sighed. This man was like the Wolf, who thought he was strong but hunted the weak rabbits. But weak prey was always easier. Wilhelm didn’t say anything. Nature would take its course. And by Harmony, he really needed to stop thinking of ‘prey’ and ‘predator’.

    Rob looked to Andrew and walked over. He put a hand on his shoulder and took the knife from the table, washing it. As he finished, he took a slice or the pizza and walked back to the couch. 8:05. Homework time. Slowly he began pondering the question his Philosophy teacher had gave him. If you could sacrifice yourself to save 15 people, but one of them was your worst enemy, would you do it?

    “Philosophy stuff,” Rob said, looking at his watch. “But it isn’t exactly 8:05 yet so I won’t do it.” He always followed the schedule. “That film sounds good,” he said, though he’d say that about anything. “But, if we watched World’s Strongest Buildings I think it would be better.”

    Wilhelm looked up at the posh lady. With the fancy clothes and posture. “Well, if the ice is thick, the rat survives,” he said. “And the doctor seemed very confident in that fact.” Besides, even if it died, the rat always made a good... meal? Why would he think that? He swallowed. He needed to get rid of these thoughts.

    “It doesn’t seem anyone has any questions about the Ghostbloods,” Lusk said. “Good enough.” —:— Wes crept back. It seemed he was back out of control. No longer representative (Lusk had even taken back the little badge Wes had got), no longer important. Sighing he adjusted his glasses with the Bendalloy reinforcing. And wrapping his cloak over himself again, he walked away, to his Ghostblood dorm.

    “We could be the Vütenhaller,” Wilhelm said, using a South Scadrian word. It didn’t seem to translate. “Uh, it means the rat you set free on the ice, to see if it is thin. And if it is, the rat falls.” He brought a hand up and lightly touched his eyepatch.

    “I like to think that the Beyond, or whatever you called it, is a place where we can meet everyone who’s died as well,” Max said, nodding in appreciation at Devaan for helping him set the table. “It would be sure more comfortable knowing once you died you could meet your loved ones, up there, and that you weren’t just reduced to your parts.”

    Hello! You said “all these actions are failing against them” I don’t really know what actions you’re referring too, except for my PM that I was targeted and no other information can be received, which is one action. Isn’t Bierst the one who can’t be targeted by anything except the lynch? I was targeted by vote manipulation in the Road-Guest lynch, remember?

    “Thanks,” Max said. “With our positions, it would be important to keep anyone who lives here safe. And agreed with Thea, if you ever need to come here, we’d be happy to let you stay.” He looked at Thea, who’s finished cooking the dinner. “Sure,” he said, going over to a cabinet and taking out three plates, and stacking three decorated glass cups on top of them. “So,” he said, placing the things down. “How’s it like being dead for a while?” He asked Devaan. He walked over and began setting the table. “Is there really some light? Do you meet your relatives?”

    Alask nodded, and then remembered he had his own information. Her son. Back outside Alleyzon, where she’d shown him the photograph. And then it made sense. It was like a mutually assured destruction if one told the other’s secret. She spoke about some guy who’d gotten himself killed by making her year horrible. “Did you...” he gestured his hands vaguely to imitate drinking something. “You know?” Poison him?

    Wilhelm perked up at the sound of something. A little rumble, and some falling. And then the feeble sound of someone whimpering. He crept forward. Weakest prey were always easier. He stepped to the foot of the stairs and saw with great disappointment it was the skinny lady. He frowned. Then the frown turned surprised. What was he thinking? Do just eat someone? No! He had gotten over that, and now he would relapse just because he had the opportunity. The starkness of his thoughts, how clearly he was thinking he’d eat disturbed him greatly. The only reason he hadn’t let himself go was simply because the one who fell wouldn’t have been a great meal anyway. And that scared him. “Come on, get up,” he said to the woman, crouching down, but not offering a hand. “If you stay down they’ll think you’re weak. Easy prey.”

    Alask turned and saw Lena waving at him, asking if he was alright. “Oh, yeah, definitely,” he said, his foot moving back only slightly. Had it been a year since he had last met her? On their heist, when she’d given him that paralytic along with his share of the money. A full year. He smiled thinly. “It seems like there’s a lot of reunions going on, don’t you think?” With a couple words, she would be able to reveal him as a Shade. And if that didn’t already scare what friends he had off, he was sure the criminal area around the Forge would be in glee to hear the identity of the Shade terrorising them. Alask sipped some water and tried a smile. Lena smiled too, bunt Alask had experience with that, when she became cold and the smile dropped. “How’ve you been this past year?”

    “Someone will figure it out,” Rob said. “There’s enough smart people around, we’re just lucky they’re being called conspiracy theorists for now.” He sighed and turned to Doc. “How was your day, Doc?”

    Rob watched ahead, observing the television. “A missing person’s case has been founded for 4 adults. They were all last seen exiting their homes earlier today and haven’t been seen since. In other news, in a false alarm police were apparently called to a local parkland area, where witnesses said they saw ‘red lightning’. Electricians in the area confirm no such occurrence is possible with the local electric grid. Simon Neandyke, our reporter, says that these types of false alarms need to be minimised, so the police can focus on more pressing issues, like the 4 missing adults.” Rob switched the television off and stood up. “We really need to cover our tracks better,” he said.

    “Galvris!” Alask exclaimed, looking to Nekorb as well. “I have to say, it’s great meeting you again, but, there’s bad news.” “After the Union meeting Laonin dissapeared. And now, there’s only Amon and me to run the Forge and even now we’re slipping by. Sure, we fixed buildings but our territory of safety is shrinking. New gangs are coming.” He put a hand to his head. “Some teenagers wanted to continue his work, made a deal with me and Amon but who knows if they kept it.” [-] The Haunt flew over the heads at the welcoming party, hovering, quiet. Dust began to float upwards and upwards, curling around his invisible figure to make a visible outline. Like a Mist Spirit made of dust, floating above the crowd, hovering there.

    Rob entered. And since Itiah didn’t want to godmod he left it vague whether Andrew entered too. Rob stepped forward and saw a new person in the house. He also saw Doc going to order pizza. “If I got to decide, I’d probably have Margherita,” he said. The same he’d had for 16 years. Walking to the TV he turned it on. “Let’s see the news.”

    Max heard Althea talk, and was glad she didn’t seem to have the same uncomfort she’d had earlier with emotions around Devaan. Smiling he wrapped one arm around her. “Whatever she chooses, I’ll be supportive,” he said earnestly. He paused when Devaan spoke about being caught up in a guild, rejecting loved ones. He remembered Mara, how he’d spent time at the Ghostbloods instead of with her, trying to be like his idol. “I think we’ve all had experiences with that,” he said.
