  1. Rob helped her out of the liquid as solidified once she was out. When she apologised for scratching his face, he shook his head, lightly tapping a spot above his cheek where she’d scratched. It sill burned. “It’s fine,” he said. “Fear makes people do dangerous things. Not their fault.”
  2. “You get what you want, all right,” The Haunt said. It had been centuries since he’d thought back on that day. “But sometimes the blessing of a boon far outweighs the risk of a curse. As far as I’ve heard, anyway. And I’ve heard a lot.”
  3. Rob nodded, and raised his hand again up in the air, bringing his opened palm to the ground. Immediately the stone space around Shana rippled to liquid, Rob outstretched his hand. “If you need help getting out.”
  4. All agreed with Kidpen.
  5. I repeat this proposal: I propose that the point system ‘Eggs’ should be referred to as ‘O Great One, Leader of Us All’

  8. Rob looked at Shana. “And now I’ll get you out of the ground. But I promise I’ll go slow when I liquefy it.”
  9. Wilhelm sighed, and patted the man on the shoulder. He would’ve made a great meal - ah, no! Why would Wilhelm think that? The doorman was a doorman, nothing appetising or to be gained from by eating. He was a human. They all were. “It’s okay,” Wilhelm said in his standard accent. “You do not know the answers, that is to be expected. But do you know when the doctor will be back?”
  10. Rob looked to Shana, and sat next to her, cross-legged. “No. You would break out using Division then. And then Doc would have to come down and fix the stones, which would be an inconvenience.” He looked closer when he saw she was crying. Rob understood sadness. He’d felt it on occassion. Never showed it. He guessed it must have been his father’s drills: men didn’t cry. It had been so long he’d almost felt disconnected from the emotion itself. Slowly he rested a hand on the stone near Shana. “I didn’t know you were afraid of water,” he said.
  11. Aluminium? I could see that working. That’s cool. It could be an Epic power or Nightwatcher boon
  12. Alask laughed quietly, nervously. He out a hand to his forehead. “Maybe we should talk about both this some other place?”
  13. The scratches made long, red marks down Rob’s and abruptly he thumped the liquid, instantly making it solid again, trapping him and Shana in its stone grasp. He took a moment, breathing, his face burned like hell but his face remained cold, showing his pain was bad. The pain flared and Rob clenched his teeth and then it slowly subsided. Reaching over he tried to control how much he liquified, only making the area he was in liquid. Slowly he crawled out of the ground and made it solid again. He sat down. “That was good,” he said, hiding any tremble that might have slipped through.
  14. Alask smiled to unsuccessfully hide his nervousness. “Um, yeah,” he said.
  15. “Oh, huh,” Alask didn’t consider Nekorb overhearing. “My spren.” “I am not a spren.”
  16. Alask looked uncomfortable for a second. “He doesn’t like the question,” he said quietly. “He says whenever someone breaks a Rule - you know, shed blood, kindle flame, run at night, he feels angry. Like when you feel so angry you could kill someone. More than that, apparently. And so to him the death is justified.”
  17. The kick landed and Rob took a steadying breath grabbing into her leg and trying to flip her over before slipping and landing on his back painfully. “Philosophy’s getting tougher,” he absent-mindedly noted, thumping the ground and liquefying the area around him, including where he was now. Slowly he began to sink, and he reached out for Shana’s leg, and tried to pull her in with him.
  18. Alask nodded, Shez could listen himself. He paused for a moment, tilted his head slightly. “He’s confused why you’d thank him. He says...” he paused again, to let Shez speak to him again. “He says it’s like thanking someone for breathing. Killing is what he does.” He smiled apologetically at Lena. “Sorry. Maybe it wasn’t like how you expected him to be like.”
  19. Rob saw Shana move to the side and walked that way, until he tripped over the sudden looseness of his shoes and barely dodged landing in the liquid stone. Solidifying it, he turned and used tension on the ripped piece of sleeve he held, hardening it to almost rock-strength and throwing it to her like a knife.
  20. “It’s like talking to a spren, kind of.” “I am not a spren,” “He’s smarter than he was before, I mean, you can talk to him if you want. I can relay his messages?”
  21. Rob inhales some stormlight and strode forward taking the blow without dodge. It burned, but he didn’t show it on his face. Stomping on the ground he tried turning the ground in front of him liquid, and ripped a part of his sleeve off.
  22. “Uh...” Wes trailed off. “Maybe we can talk somewhere more private?” He scribbled down a location on a napkin.
  23. Alask let a tiny, nervous laugh. “She seems fun.” “Well, us, maybe Nekorb, and anyone else we can pick up. A guy called Amon, too,” he said. “And those two teenagers spreading those green posters, though they’re doing their own thing.” “And, well, incapacitation is better than death, I guess?” He said, then tried switching to a different topic. “So, do you still tell stories?”
  24. Lusk lowered his hand. “Anyway, it seems this discussion has shifted to laws. There is a problem,” “The law which you said no being should take undue advantage of one with less Investiture... what does that mean? What is less and more? Is a Coinshot and Augur equal because they’re both Mistings. Or is it based on use? Use of what? Combat or otherwise? “And what does ‘take advantage’ mean? Are you saying Emotional Allomancers can’t use their abilities. What about Connector and Spinner Ferrings?”
  25. Althea paused and touched Max’s shin lightly. She seemed worried about something? Max felt a bit guilty, he was enjoying Devaan’s visit and meanwhile she was worrying. “How did whoever sent that note know you were here?” Max asked, taking a bite of the lasagna. It was pretty good, it reminded Max of when he and Mara had snuck out once to eat at a inn instead of at the training grounds. Mara. Max sighed.
