  1. Alask nodded wordlessly, looking at the other bits and bobs of the laboratory. “So, What makes you think you can do the things the DA hasn’t yet?” He asked Sebrial. @Ark1002
  2. “I’ll get onto it,” Max said. “Ideally the war never happens at all. Both the Keepers and Diagramists are allies, hopefully we can make a compromise between them.” Like how Max had made a compromise between Devaan and Althea. “If everything goes well, there will be no need for a war, but it breaks loose anyway the Canton will be prepared and ready. We might even have to get some more evacuation centres up.” He saw Devaan grimace at the talk of war and Max had to wonder if that was because of Hellbent, or other reasons. Max hadn’t seen much impact of the Seven Day War on Devaan, though he did sometimes have fleeting memories following it. With Mara, scared of the Monster. It had been years since he’d realised the Monster had just been a drunken Devaan. And now, was there still trauma? “So, ideally no war,” Max repeated. He felt Althea wrap his arm around her and he leaned into it as well. She seemed happy for the time being, and that counted as a success.
  3. “I’m sure the family of the dead cares,” Alask said, peering down at the larkin’s in a cage. “And I doubt the knowledge of what happens when you transfuse Hemalurgic blood with animals is going to come in handy any time soon.”
  4. “I might be,” Rob said, taking a bite of his spaghetti. “Who are you planning to go with?”
  5. Hearing the announcement, Alask turned to Sebrial sharply. “So you do experiments? What about rhe failed ones? And why would anyone volunteer for this? What if their life is permanently ruined because of it?”
  6. Rob shook his head. “It probably would end up very awkward, with them politely rejecting me.” Leona sat down, and asked how their day was. “Good,” Rob said. “I got to spar.”
  7. “I don’t have anyone to go with,” Rob said. As usual. “But it’s fine. Maybe I can sneak in.” When Flid was going to get spaghetti for Rob he leaned in. “Flid apologised,” he whispered to them. “Isn’t that nice?”
  8. “Dancing is like expressing your emotion,” Rob said. “So as you can tell I would be quite good at it.”
  9. Rob looked to Flid. He was apologising? “Ok. Forgiven. The food smells nice.”
  10. Rob nodded, and after a while he walked in as well, taking a seat on one of the chairs. Ben and Shana were talking about prom, so Rob guessed maybe James wasn’t Ben’s boyfriend. But he had been wrong before, so he waited. “The food smells nice,” he said.
  11. “Don’t hold back at all,” he said. “My second ideal was to stand where others fall. I guess that’ll really be putting it to the test, won’t it?” He stood up. “Where did Flid say the food was.”
  12. “Yeah, everything’s going fine mostly. We had a new batch of operatives coming in, and they’ve been incredibly helpful. Still, there isn’t much use for Canton operations nowadays. Maybe after what happened with your death, tying up loose ends, but not anymore.” He looked out the window, narrowed his eyes. “Yet. With what’s been happening so far, it’s possible we’ll have more operations take place. I some of our scout teams on watch.” He lessened his Rioting in response to Devaan, at least on Devaan. Althea didn’t seem to mind and he smiled at her.
  13. “That’s good, you don’t have difficulty actually using your surges, it’s just control,” Rob said. “Some people actually need training to use their surges with power, because they’re naturally weak.” He hummed for a minute. “And you shouldn’t worry so much about us. Me, at least, others can speak for themselves, but we all have stormlight healing. So we could all heal from any mistakes you make. I don’t know, I’m not good at comforting people. I tend to just tell them to get over it and then leave.”
  14. “I don’t know how he’d escape prison if he was that second one. Maybe some powerful friends.”
  15. Wilhelm raised both eyebrows and sat up. He hadn’t expected her to actually go for it. “I am,” he said.
  16. “I think you know how to use your surges,” Rob said, sitting down on a lawn chair. “But you don’t want to hurt people. With division alone, I’m sure you could vaporise me, and others. And I’m sure against a Voidbringer you’d do that. But with friends, I guess it’s harder to go full out.”
  17. “I guess he could,” Alask said, looking up the elevator. The last time he’d been in one it hadn’t ended up good. “Though I guess with a name like ‘Mastermind’, there’s not a whole not of guessing what his powers are.”
  18. Max sighed in relief. It seemed they’d come to a conclusion. Regardless, he kept up his Rioting of calmness. He didn’t want to take any chances. “So,” he said, wondering how to smoothly change the topic. “I told Silph about that black book you wanted me to find.”
  19. Wilhelm looked towards the skinny woman again. “So, will you do it?” He asked. “If we are to look out the door, one of us has to be the Vütenhaller again, the rat that tests the ice. And I am not keen to fall through the water.”
  20. You can always join the Right Hand Regime! We’re happy to accept new right-hand members!
  21. Rob thought for a moment. “They went through all that effort to make something, I think we should eat.” He said. “We can call it a half-time break.” He looked towards Shana, who had sharp blades of grass poking out of her. “Are you okay?”
  22. Death was not in the slightest a pleasant process. Csilen was finding out rebirth wasn’t the best either. There was a tearing sensation, like Csilen was being stretched to infinity. He lolled back his head and screamed. He felt himself in three different places. Stretched between the realms, but something else pulling on him, not letting go. Csilen could have given up, he could have given in to the agony but he gritted his teeth and he stayed there, he stayed in that pain, that sensation. Still pain. How long had it been? Not long enough, but it seemed Csilen could never get used to the agony, it enveloped him like a storm and he screamed more. Csilen laid in that tortured state for far longer than he’d preferred. He’d been here so long, he’d felt this pain for eternity and beyond. Was it ever going to end, would this infestation of pure pain, agony and sorrow ever reach its conclusion or wouldn’t Csilen remain in this screaming hell for the rest off tortured existe- Csilen was reborn.
  23. Something happened.
