  1. I have, in fact, misunderstood. I maintain that hunting elims is overall the better strategy, but I'm not like actively opposed to hunting the kandra in that case.
  2. Oh hey good job everyone. 2/? done. I'm back now. Quick thought, I don't think kandra hunting would be super productive. If we lynch the kandra someone else just becomes the kandra, yes? And the kandra is defeated anyways if we kill all the elims. Even if we did find the kandra and decided to keep them alive or something, they could just kill themself and we'd be back to where we started, right? Or have I misunderstood something?
  3. Happy birthday @WeiryWriter!
  4. Oh just saw your post above. Ok. That seems like a reasonable and villagery reason to vote on XP. This, however, seems a bit off. I shall investigate more to determine the Vibes.
  5. I'm vibing with ash so no. On the other hand, where did the XP lynch come from? That seems moderately unsavory to me.
  6. So uh. I may have made a huge mistake. My dad informed me a couple hours ago that we're going on a work trip, to a place I won't have any service. I realize this puts me as overall not that great of a pinch hitter, but if I'm lucky I'll be able to comment right after rollover tomorrow and then be back halfway through the day. If I'm unlucky I'll be unable to see the shard well before rollover and I'll get back well after rollover the following day. I'll try as hard as I can to make the first scenario the thing that happens. I really am sorry about this, sometimes my schedule does things that I couldn't have predicted.
  7. Pyro it's just the vibes. I don't know what else you want out of me pyro. Are the vibes not enough for you? Actually though, I feel like this game has reached a point of complexity that any attempt on my part to go by actual evidence is doomed to failure, or at least doomed to have 50% or less odds. Even in the last couple games I've played where it was significantly less complex, my attempts to think through things and second guess my gut feelings have led to me not lynching a single elim. So this time I'm changing things up. It's all about the vibes now pyro.
  8. Yes. 1. the vibes. 2. there is no two it's just the vibes. Feel free to let me know if you need any clarification. (I'm probably gonna change later. But also maybe not. Who knows.)
  9. Soooo here's the deal. This game seems to unfortunately have been turned into a mess of excessively complicated plots, plans, and conspiracies. So I'm just gonna ignore it and vote on whoever has the worst vibes. I'm not entirely sure at the moment who that is, but Karnage doesn't have the best vibes, certainly.
  10. Ayyyy how's it going. Time to actually read the rules. And the thread too, if I feel like it. But definitely the rules at least.
  11. *hides like a dozen posts until I'm the winner* haha just kidding that would be super annoying
  12. Kidpen said good job and was incredibly proud of everyone who had contributed up to this point. "We should like make a list of every poster and @ them. haha, just kidding, that would be supper annoying" he said.
  13. Wow seriously? I honestly thought Drake was basically an outed elim there. Guess not! GG to the elim team. I don't think I ever would have lynched Elbereth, but maybe I would have lynched Zillah, and very maybe I would've lynched Sart. Archivist I didn't really have an opinion on so that wasn't gonna happen unless someone started it. Thanks straw for running this game! I had a lot of fun with it despite not voting on am elim a single time the entire game. Except for when I voted on zillah that one time I guess.
  14. Alright. Drake Marshall. I've been confident about every lynch and gotten then all wrong, so now let's try a lynch I'm not as confident about.
  15. Wow, no. Full disclosure I don't think I could point at a single other one of Karnage's posts. Like at all. I have no memory of any of them and will be looking back to find them. However, this posts feels like it's screaming elim in my face. Not in any way I can explain, that's just the vibe I'm getting. Maybe it's just cause Karnage is a new player, but I dont think so. Karnage, if you are village, sorry! Sometimes the way new players talk feels elimy to me, either because they're not used to the meta or I'm not used to their meta. I'll be prepared to change my vote in the morning assuming I don't wake up *too* late so don't take my vote as set in stone. Feeling a wee bit wary of Sart as well. Also concerned Drake may be pocketing me but I'm like 83% sure that's just paranoia.
  16. *cracks knuckles* Alright. Here's what you gotta do. You absolutely have to choose the dwarf race and the druid background. This might seem like the wrong move because Dwarves get a slight penalty on persuasion when not trying to persuade other Dwarves, but the important thing with that is that slight bonus you get while you are talking to other Dwarves. This means that as soon as you can get to the stronghold of Quatach-Ichl you can convince Grakhuil to teach you to read people better, opening up a number of new conversation options. This lets you persuade your way through several quests that were kind of supposed to be combat only. Now, you might be wondering why I said to choose the druid background. Well, although most of the druid traits are completely useless in terms of persuasion, at around level 55 you get a virtue that lets you persuade animals! You know how you said you can't persuade your way through a pack of wolves? Well not anymore! Although, like, I say persuade but it's really more of a calm down power. This does mean that if you feel like doing a persuasion only run you'll have to grind a ton before even leaving the first town, but it is possible! Really you should be pumping up that persuasion anyways to make sure you don't get stuck somewhere. As a closing thought, I know nothing about this game and came up with this off the top of my head, read Brandon Sanderson.
  17. See but this feels good! Man, I am really not doing very well this game and based on my track record you're probably village. So, sorry! Not a ton I can do about it now though, there's about 12 minutes left if I've counted correctly.
  18. Wait I'm actually awake before the cycle ends? And... unfortunately nothing has happened. I'm actually maybe a little bit more OK with lynching Elkanah if anything? These last few posts have given me a gut elim read. But now I'm second guessing myself, so idk. I definitely still think Elkanah is the best option.
  19. I don't like any of the lynches here. Elkanah has felt relatively neutral and zillah feels village. That being said between the two of them I prefer Elkanah and I want to make sure a tie doesn't happen. Plus, like, I really feel like Elkanah hasn't made many AI posts and that feels like it might be deliberate? Edit: also it's a little annoying br died because my gut is screaming at me to vote for her but I can't because she's dead and was good. So I guess my gut can't always be trusted.
  20. I'd like to point out the tag that says 2 more shades. Other than that I'll post my thoughts in a couple hours. Edit: oh I was mixing up shades with elims. My bad.
  21. I think his reaction in this cycle is pretty villagery. I've never seen him react like that while an elim. That may just be that I haven't seen him as elim enough though and it's partially a gut read which is why I am sort of reserving judgement until the mist flip.
  22. Alright I reread the thread and honestly it just made me even more solidified on Mist. Mist voted last on Striker and it felt quite a bit like protecting a teammate, so currently I think Mist and TGK are teammates together. Conversely, if Mist flips village, I'd honestly mostly consider TGK as a heavy village read. Regardless I think lynching Mist is our best option right now.
  23. Alright, Mist, similar reasons as last cycle. That being saidz I do have growing suspicions ok both BR and TGK, and I'm planning to relook at the series of events last cycle to figure out where/if elims were on the Striker lynch.
  24. Collected all the posts related to Rae. Nothing new, just thought it might be helpful. To get all the buildup out of the way, Mist. I feel like Mist's original vote on Fura was pretty reasonable, and as I said a self vote under different circumstances would get an instant vote from me. What I definitely don't think was super reasonable was the vote on my that came relatively late in the cycle and was just sheeping (I feel like that's a pretty normal word to use) fura. Pretty weak evidence but I want to vote on someone up for the lynch and everyone else seems villagery or neuteral to me. Also can I just say that I kind of hate the logic of people being an elim because their trying to look like they're contributing without contributing? I get that applied to me constantly and I don't think it's at all a valid approach. Especially, in this case, because the votee has only one real post.
  25. Oh shoot, the cycle is over already? Well that's inconvenient. In hindsight I probably should've done the math and figured out it would be ending this morning but for some reason I assumed that I would have a couple hours today to post. Alright, well. That was overall an excellent lynch, considering nobody knew what was going on. @Mist *of the Shard not if the shard. Because on the bottom of the shard (or in any thread) you can see who has been online and also on anyone's profile you can see how long ago they were online. This could potentially be used for proving identity, especially if two people are online at once and nobody else is. It's not perfect but it could help. Thing is that I don't like it and I think using outside sources (outside the doc, I mean) to prove identity is against the point of it, so I'm against that. I'm actually here early this time so I'll post a vote earlier. Or, well, at all. The only issue with that is that after that first post anybody could take those words and use them to imitate you.
