Jamie raised an eyebrow, "You mean, like a doctor... I'm not sure that's a good idea." ~~~ Doc shrugged, thinking back. "I grew up here, but I moved away to go to Caltech on a scholarship. After that, I ended up homeless in Portland for maybe a few years. I swore the First Ideal a few weeks before I came back here."

"Rumors, mostly." Doc admitted, "I can't say how much is true."

"No. I don't recognize it. That's what threw me off."

Aben sighed, but began to speak, "You might want to sit down," he said slowly, "This is a bit... odd." he paused for a moment, then began, "I'm what's called a Wolfbrother. I have the senses, and sometimes the instincts of a wolf, along with... other things. Now, Radyn and I, we come from somewhere, far, far away from here. Another land, with other magics besides your Metallic Arts." Aben rubbed his eyes, continuing, "Whatever that smell was, it was evil."

"He smelled," Aben paused, "I know this sounds weird, but he smelled like blood. And metal. But it was wrong somehow." Aben shook his head.

"Sure, sure." Jamie nodded happily, "It was fine after I shot myself." she smiled at him, before stepping towards Cassie. "Hey..." she muttered, "I thought... maybe we could go riding later today?"

Doc shrugged, "I'm not sure. I was about to go downstairs and check." he said, edging around Draug and heading for the stairs. He quickly made his way down them and into the living room. "Everyone get up ok?" he asked. ~~~ Jamie finished looking through her phone. She'd sent a few messages back to the others in DC, telling them that she was ok and not to come after her just yet. Nodding to herself, Jamie left her phone and got ready. Around five minutes later, she stepped into the living room, fiddling with a pair of aviator glasses.

Doc shooed Cassie out of his room and got ready for the day. Some time later, he stepped out of his room, trying to brush his hair with one hand and put on his coat with the other. The brush ripped through his hair with a yank and he winced. He was so distracted that he almost crashed into Draug. "Were you coming to see me?" he asked awkwardly, finally managing to get his coat on.

Jamie reached into her pocket and removed her phone, which had caused a dent in her leg while she slept. After pressing the power button a few times, she realized it was dead. "Oh." she muttered, "I'm an idiot." she pulled her bag over, rummaging around for the cable. After locating it and the adatpter, she scrambled over to a wall outlet and plugged her phone in.

Aben leaned against the bar, trying to see if there was anything good behind it. After staring at the bottles for a second, he decided to wait on a drink. Instead, the thumbed some more tabacco into his pipe and began blowing smoke rings.
