You can't reallly just bond a spren. Randland all the way. Although I'd want to be a ta'veren in a way similar to Mat. But, I'd take what I could get.
-
Aben had picked up a few things from his room. He was now wearing a coat in a similar style to Radyn's, though it was a dark green, rather than white, and was unadorned. He'd also found his favorite pipe and a pouch of tabacco in one of the pockets. He smiled to himself as he sat down. After getting some whiskey, he leaned back in his chair and removed the pipe. It was carved with swirling, mistlike designs that suggested a pack of wolves running. Aben thumbed the bowl full of tabacco and lit it with match. "Gotta love matches." he mused, pipe stem between his teeth, "Usually, I end up lighting it with a burning twig." he finished, then blew a smoke ring.
-
Aben closed his eyes, inhaling deeply through his nose. "Let's see. Anxiety, a smidge of boredom and some fear. But he doesn't feel tired. I'll go with that." he twirled the cigarette in his fingers, studying the burning tip, "Personally, I prefer smoking a pipe, but I take what I can get."
-
"Only one problem. Can't guess emotions on myself. I mean, I could, but it's harder. Pick someone else... say that guy slumped in the chair." Aben finally took a draw from the cigarette.
-
Narrator Dapper sighed at the lack of quotation occuring in the resturant.
-
"It wasn't anything. I justed wanted to see if I could tell what emotions you were Soothing." Aben gave a wolflish grin, "Like I said, it was nothing."

Aben shrugged, but took a cigarette. "I've never been one for following rules. Symptom of the profession, I guess."
-
"I have a pretty good idea of where to look. You see, my father was a Terrisman." Radyn said, scratching the back of his neck. ~~~ Aben stepped up to the window, staring into the night. "You're going out dancing?" he inquired, "Mind if I join you?"
-
Aben sighed, snaking his head. “Oh, and no, I haven’t heard of them. Radyn and I, we’re not from around here.” he grinned at Nerin, “Never been to Elendel, actually. I can’t speak for Radyn, though.” Radyn took his hand off of his sword and shrugged, “My parents are from here, though we never traveled here. That’s why I’m here, actually. To look for family.”

Enough double posting! Your ignorance has infuriated me. The rules specifically state: Do not double post unless you need to add something important to the thread. You can edit posts to add other content.

But it's actually in the Alleyverse subforum...

Aben sighed, but continued to watch, facinated.
-
"They're very zealous. If you can get them to follow you, they'll be totally loyal." Radyn smiled, "Unless they figure out they've been tricked. Then they will hunt you with as much zeal as they followed you before."
-
"Hum?" Radyn looked up, "Oh yes. The Children of the Light. They enjoy hunting down magic users. And then tourturing them. Not fun, I can tell you that." Radyn shook his head. ~~~ Aben preformed Folding The Fan with perfect precision, sliding his blade back into the sheath. He crossed his arms, that horrible sent still bothering him.

"Never been one for drama myself. My friend here," he gestured to Radyn, who looked suitibly dramatic in his long, hooded white coat, "His whole organization has a flare for the dramatic!"
-
Aben's smile widened, "You know, people are always asking what's wrong with me. Why do I have golden eyes? How can I tell their emotions? How did I end up like this? Well I can assure you, nothing is wrong with me. I'm not sure if anything is wrong with you either. Besides, that smell, of course. That and your overdramatic attitude."
-
Doc jumped, startled. He almost recognized this scene. Suddenly, it clicked. A spanrial report from an enclave in Colorado. It had discribed an event eerily similar to this. "Oh no. Please don't make me witness this!" he cried, "This is what she can do! This is her power!"

Aben hopped nimbly to his feet, faling into stance as he drew his Power-wrought sword with a ring. He took a deep breath, preparing himself for fight. The void came quickly to him, and with it clarity. He smiled, the expression not reaching his eyes. Then the smell hit him. Blood and metal. It was horrible. "Bloody and bloody ashes," he sword "What is wrong with you?" ~~~ Radyn sheathed his knife and nodded to those still at the bar. A large man in a duster had a hand on his gun, and was eying the situation. "Guess I'll go see what I can do, then. Radyn muttered to no one in particular, before stepping smoothly over to Aben, hand on his sword.
-
Aben shrugged, but sat down. He carefully removed the sheath strapped across his back and set it beside him. His golden eyes flashed as he met Nerin's gaze. "Thought it might be interesting to see if I..." he trailed off, realizing he'd said too much.
