The Duel Of Ages
LopenTheTwoArmedHerdazian replied to LopenTheTwoArmedHerdazian's topic in The Alleyverse
(Interesting point, but I don’t think it would work as it would only be viewed by Edo as an attack, and therefore absorbed). As he assumed stormform the man smiled. ’SUCH A BLUNDER SOMETIMES IT MAKES ME WONDER WHY I EVEN BRING THE THUNDER!’ Lopen screamed, using his lightning to power the electromagnet in his pocket to deflect the pointless attempts at vengeance that Nohadon called an attack. Meanwhile the shield now only had a radius of 50 cm, and a height of 3m. Before long it would start crushing bones. He’d need to get off world soon to avoid the singularity. -

Now after all of Nohadon’s Investiture had been sucked dry the man revealed something he had been working on for weeks. He quickly started modifying an Aon Edo to enclose around Nohadon, the inside of the shield functioning like the outside of a normal Aon Edo. -

The Aon was very interesting, but the problem was its programming was ineffective. Lopen grabbed a cookie from his belt, the spike piercing it the love child of Forgery and Hemallurgy. It was one of the simplest Soulspikes he had ever created. It simply made sure that his parents had never called him Lopen, but went for their other choice. He quickly consumed the cookie, and the Aon stopped in midair looking confused, before vanishing. -

That’s where you’re wrong @Nohadon. It was never the gun,’ Lopen remarked with a sad smile gracing his face as the type 4 Awakened bullets embedded themselves in Nohadon and started sucking him dry of all Investiture. ‘It’s an old theory that the DA came up with around a hundred years after both these magic systems were discovered by us. Due to the massive amount of Investiture you have, it would take some time for a regular type 4 Awakened object to do this, but as these bullets were programmed specifically to do this, it should take under 5 minutes. My armorer came up with a way to help me with this when I told her of my invention. The bullet has a special device attached to the bottom that embeds itself further into the body and lodges itself within the body, making it improbable for a doctor to take out in the needed time.’ There was a flaw to this invention though, and although his voice exuded confidence, his anxiety was more ferocious than ever before. -

'I guess I'll have to give you another game later Ares. Your positional chess needs some work. For now, I need to show Nohadon the power of a master of the ways of the alley.' He whipped out the revolvers with the sandalwood grips from his sides, a red glow emanating from the chamber. Mac gave him a wink at the sight of this, realising that Lopen's experiments with mixing AonDor and Awakening had been successful. Lopen had made a sane Nightblood for the modern gentleman, and he was going to put the skills he acquired in Gilead to good use. He was still in middair when the sound of two simultaneous shots split the air, some confused looking birds trying to understand where the voice they heard was coming from chirped in vain. The only two people who could stop that bullet were Mac and Voidus, due to the precise nature of its command. 'Seek and kill Nohadon. Leech on him till a husk of his former self exhales its final breath within 5 minutes of being hit.' Of course in his native tongue it was much shorter, but that was long dead, so why waste its beauty on this cruel world? His armorer had done wonders with these new bullets. He should give her a substansial Rayse (pun shamelessly intended). -

Although I cannot speak for all of us, I believe most DA members would love the concept of doing more scientific work, but between selling cookies, killing luddites, and trying to advance both cosmere and extracosmerical science, we already have barely enough time to create absurd theories and spread the truth. But if you would like we could provide your team with some labs and funding in exchange for joining us? We’d love to have you on board. -

“Mac, I’m going to try something to break your Aon Eio shields. Don’t worry, not gonna harm your guests." As a look of concentration washed over him he carved out the modifiers he had been practicing for months with his special Aon. No one could recreate this, as the lab experiment that led him to discover this flaw of Aon Edo had never been recreated. And lo and behold, the shields fell. "Might want to put up some stronger defences Mac." -

"Mac, you storming son of a gunslinger, you just built a pavilion at the centre of all universes! Your guests are going to trample the alleyverse if you don't dispatch them! But good to have you here gancho... Did you get the refreshments I asked for?" -
As he emerges from thin air, Lopen finishes his cookie. “Aon Tia is lovely this time of year. The instantaneous travel by no scenery is always a pleasure.” The Selian landscape had always intrigued Lopen, the lack of rock buds in favour of these green and red plants fascinating him, but sadly it had to go. He started rapidly carving out Aon Ehe on the fabric of reality, modifying it in ways that Elantrians would only be able to in a few thousand years, making sure that all that was left was a flat field. But that didn’t happen. To his surprise, the roses were untouched, and the faint bronze pulses that he thought he was imagining grew stronger. He had never felt such a strange pulse. It vaguely reminded him of Soothing, but so much more powerful. Even after he flared copper he could still feel their effect, their power being second only to that of a shard. And in the middle there rose an obsidian spike, a dark tower, reaching into eternity. “Rusts, forgot that Sel contained End-world. Guess we’ll have to be careful not to wipe out all universes.” He started remembering how before he was brought to Roshar, he had died. He was a happy man in his past life, dying while fighting with his friend against the onslaught of the army of the minion of the Crimson King. He went by Cuthbert back then. He remembered how after the battle a man who looked eerily like Wit told him that he had a role to play in another body, a role in the game played between parts of a god. And then he died, and was reborn without memories of his past, which he only regained now. He picked up a long revolver with sandalwood grips, as well as its pair. A tear trickled down his face, and he removed all but five of his abilities. He now had Aon Dor, was of the Tenth Heightening, and had the Surge of Gravitation (and with it the healing of a Surgebinder). And since @Nohadon was running late he started carving some Aons on his special bullets, which he then put inside a special aluminium casing.

The Slice: HUGE OPENING SALE

Lopen sat there, drinking. Archer was dead. A positive development, but nothing unforeseen. This shard did not like anti hemallurgy slander. But no matter what vitriolic bile he spewed, he was still a Worldhopper. He walked up to him, closed his eyes, and checked the document all worldhoppers kept in a secret pocket in the right side of their shirt. The instructions read: 'I am dead. Not that unexpected if you think about it. I appoint @Mistspren as my successor, and would like him to not lash out in hate. I've been pondering the scaling down of tensions with the DA. Just kidding. Rip them to shreds boys. I'd like no Investiture placed in my body post mortem, and would like to be buried in the Kandra homeland. And I would like someone to tell that rusting cremling Lopen that giving my dog enough Breaths to reach the Tenth Heightening was not a funny prank.' Lopen wiped a slight tear that slowly was rising up to his eyelashes from that Lashing that he left on. "That was a good one." As he left Scadrial ready to enact the man's final will, he started modifying his Aonic weapons. "A storm is coming, and this one won't even help me regrow a limb. Storming man pulled a Kelsier with that note." -

I’ll create the RP thread when @Nohadon gives the go ahead. -
I was down there the other day and I saw a life sized cookie dough chasmfiend, with a gemheart made of spikes. I talked to the baking department about it, they said they knew nothing about it, so I went back to shipping. Turns out that on lower priority orders they mess about with the cookies. I wanted to find out more, but @ElephantEarwax decided to Invest some Breaths in his cookie order for safekeeping, so I Aon Tia'd the Braize out of there. A hemallurgically enabled class IV awakened cookie dough chasmfiend is not something I'd like to get in the way of.

"Mac! I wasnt expecting you before the research on Threnody was done! The food here seems amazing, but they’re completely ignoring my request for an artisan spike. You coming to the cookiepizza party in alley 763 later today? The pepperoni was made with premium spiked pork." The Herdazian pulled a beautiful creation out of thin air, something that looked like a cookie with pizza toppings on top. "Dick van Spike will be there." -

As Lopen walked past this quaint little place he marveled at the nice dimension work, as his stomach rumbled at the familiar smell of desserty deliciousness with a pinch of metal. "This is nice little gancho." The spren over his shoulder looked at him with a question in its eyes. "Of course not! These people seem to be doing truly good work, advancing science and satisfying taste buds. But perhaps we should ask them if they would be interested in a merger..." He looked distracted while modifying the Aon Tia to return to his laboratory. "Let’s worry about that allomantic dragon Radiant that escaped from my type IV awakened cage." He waved the Aon Tia out of the air. "Little gancho, how’d you like to pay your cousins a visit? If you spren are anything like us Herdazians, I’d love to meet them." As soon as he finished this sentence he transitioned to Shadesmar, the only things remaining to hint of his presence in Elendel being some cookie crumbs and a few new DA subjects recruits. He was later spotted haggling for a popcorn making fabrial with a few unhappy looking spren.
