They're certainly somewhat meant to be layered on top of each other, with the protagonists of each trilogy being folk-hero-ish sometimes, or even straight up Christ-like figures. This will also continue into Era 3 and presumably 4 as well, since in 3, Wax and Wayne will have a comic book series about their exploits.

For the reasons that I don't believe we could do the setting and character/casting justice through liveaction, I'd say animation.

Out of curiosity, while we're on the subject of power advancement, can Malu swear his Second Oath? Seems like he'd be very in line with being able to do that, with the whole "use his knowledge to help people" thing that's pretty much a staple of Truthwatchers, from what I understand. Also, it's not a very big oath. No Blade, no Plate, just another advancement. What do y'all think?
