This is the reason in my mind, and from what I remember, it was heavily implied. Justice for the wronged is another very human concept on a galactic scale, as well as helping those in bad situations (I mean, look at the blind and deaf corpse they found from a long time ago who lived to be a pretty good age through care from his tribe), especially people and things that have been treated badly. This includes inanimate and non-sentient beings, so it's no stretch to imagine the outrage once the world learned about entire portions of populations being locked up would lead to a large war of species.
-
That might have just been that one portion, I don't remember.

So, since Roshar as an entire continent is moving as a result of the crem deposits and erosion from the highstorms, what happens to Shinovar? Will it just cease to be there at some point since they're dependent on the soil that is irreplaceable by current Rosharan standards (I think) or become an island, left behind by the rest of the crem-based land? Side note: did the big guy account for the potential of Shinovar to exist, or did that screw something up with his plan?
-
I think the highstorm has always been as powerful as it currently is, though not exactly the same, considering Adonalsium made everything in that system (including the main continent) a very specific way. Plus it's like...all rock. Did they ever have more wood? Trees as we know it wouldn't be able to grow between the winds, debris, and lack of soil everywhere except Shinovar.

That still doesn't make me feel any better. Brandon's gonna pull some shenanigans.

I don't like the sound of that.

That is Hoid, I believe.

Worldsingers and other things

He's the second oldest currently living being, with only Frost being older. I believe both are correct and it's just a matter of Scadrial vs Roshar, plus the Worldbringers having Feruchemy would be a necessary distinction. -
I'd probably smack around the Originators some, get them to pay more attention to other areas of Scadrial and to focus the future on technological advancement to avoid certain issues.
-
I don't think that would work.

Frank Herbert and Brandon Sanderson are massively different authors. Sanderson likes to root his stuff more and delve into the minute details (or he leaves stuff unsolved for good reason, like teasing something) so we'll probably eventually get more details on the fungus and stuff. They are orbiting a star, though. They can't see it because of the debris everywhere (hence the glowlights underneath the debris that mimic the light of their star) but there is a star.

That was news to me too, but I couldn't find anything about who gave it to them beyond that it was probably Preservation.
-
Comparable, maybe not, but Moash is most certainly a foil character to Kaladin.

Liquid maybe, gas probably not for the same issue as sprenbows. Too many loosely connected things for a spren to be able to divide themselves into it. It wouldn't be very effective either way.
-
Report them and someone will come along and handle it.
-
I agree with them not being in pain based on the way windspren act around Kaladin when he's getting close to his armor. It's like they're happy to be there, completely voluntarily surrounding a chosen person and it's not too much of a stretch to imagine those that are permanently Plate are happy just to be so useful and wanted.

7.2 earthquake is a force to be reckoned with. My thoughts are with you and everyone else affected by this. Good luck.
-
Imagine a Shardwhip. That'd be a lot more feasible than a giant wire because the force on a wire that long would be difficult to handle to say the least. Even a spren equivalent to a steel whip might not be feasible, though, because they can get a little wonky sometimes, but could be a good weapon for certain orders.

Yeah, I don't think Kaladin would give in at all. He's feels guilty not because of what he's done but that he hasn't done enough, and that's the line between someone who would fall to Odium or resist in my mind.

I'd imagine it would at least take a significantly larger strain to break a perfect gem, if it were possible at all. I agree that it probably isn't based on the lack of imperfections, though.

Yeah, they redid Gnommish for this entirely, according to Colfer's Twitter. I'm sad too. It's not Eternity Code. I think that's the troll thing from the first book, right in the beginning. The explosion is probably either the Concusser or the gas tank explosion.

Hi I'm a random person who will not give their personal name out.

Don't eat the cookie. They are, by the most literal definition, spiked. If you've read Mistborn all the way through, you know what I'm talking about. If not, suffice it to say they're dangerous. -
Yeah, there's going to be some form of shenanigan that happens and the Champion fight will (for whatever reason) not free Odium as he wants. My money is on Cultivation messing with things again.

Probably part of the "really cool things" involve Hemalurgy and hacking your way into other magic systems. Though since Preservation is essentially the opposite of Ruin, and atium makes you an effective killer (read: Ruiner), wouldn't the condensed version of Preservation do something like turn you into an effective Preserver, maybe showing the thing you could do to generate maximum stability?

Nearly being the key word.
