  1. Interesting to note that a person totally in the physical realm can see the cognitive... Makes you wonder how the 3 realms work together positionwise...
  2. mistminutes? Is that how fast Vin kills spies in the mist? In that event I think you need to extent the offer by a few thousand...
  3. Eh, doesn't quite ring well with me. Maybe it's the simultaneous mentions of both a prophecy and a farm, but something about that line just doesn't appeal :/
  4. Returning to the last page, it seems the Shin know an awful lot about the voidbringers that they shouldn't. Who taught them all that? Theory: The Shin are housing either Heralds or some Shardic site of importance that has led to them knowing stuff. Slightly less exciting, a Worldsinger could have told them...
  5. Is it possible that a forger messed up Shadesmar? That would certainly be.....interesting. Regardless, all the excess and pressurized energy left over from the two dead shards likely makes things difficult, and the blinding idea adds into the nicely as well.
  6. I would like to announcereply: The thrill of figuring out the answer is unequalled, and is scientifically shown to be the same reaction that gives us a sense of humor. Making a new and unexpected connection makes the brain happy.
  7. "The announcer" That sounds disturbingly similar to the Terris religion's figure. Ten bucks says this announcer is real and tied into why seeing future is forbidden.
  8. I would like to anounce that perching on two stacked chairs is more stable than one, and I no longer sit normally. Perching is the new sitting as far as I am concerned...
  9. Or maybe you'd....Shiv...him.
  10. /me pales * That would be exactly the kind of plot twist I should have expected. Poor Denna...
  11. I would like to announce that it is December 6th, and it is still warm and snow-free to the point of me wearing shorts.
  12. Another great point. Once pulled over by Oddium, things and people are very hard to reclaim. I can see this being dangerous to a shard, turning all of its hard-spent investure against it...
  13. Use allomancy to move the clock's hands Push on all emotions at once Use iron for jumping on the trampoline Create disabled corpses and awaken them, just cuz
  14. You could try to fake it with tomato sauce... I will so start a business...
  15. Give the man a prize. Another thing to remember is this: Ruin couldn't move. It's likely the Hoid didn't find Ruin as dangerous for the simle reason that Ruin wasn't going anywhere. He and Preservation were both reduced to nothing, and their intents prevented them from leaving so long as the other existed. By simple nature of his intent, Ruin was stuck, and inhibitation not shared by Odium.
  16. The secret to worldhopping revealed. One problem though: When you soulcast, your body doesn't move. With the above, all you'd do is stick you mind on another planet...
  17. Win. While we all debate melting gold, good ol Dyring here just stores heat. I love it! On a side-note, I doubt TLR had a backup. It doens't sound lik ehim.
  18. I would like to announce that Stormlight 2 is at 17%
  19. I, like Wayne, managed to buy a ward against logic from a traveling fortune-teller. I can now add 2 and 2 and get fish.
  20. It's from pre-Raod books, so I doubt that's the case. As to inverted Aons, that theory works too. Possibly a combo of the two. On a related note, I wonder what would happen if you ran into a splinter while waltzing through Shadesmar. Probably nothing good.
  21. The origin of the white dance. In N Out discussion:
  22. It's quite likely that Odium, like all shards, is bound by rules. I like the "Honor is forcing his intent on Odium" theory, but there could very well be other things at play here too.
  23. I couldn't help but notice something on my second Elantris readthrough. The Elantrian books Roaden studies mention the the Dor seeks only to escape, and that there is immense pressure in its realm, forcing it outward. We know the Cognitive and Spiritual relams are very closely linked, so it makes sense that that immense pressure would have an effect on the Shadesmar. Maybe worldhoppers just get ejected back out (And like the travel Aon, who knows to where?), or maybe something else. Either way, I think the Dor and how it relates to Aona's shattering is crucial to understanding Sel's cognitive realm.
  24. Odium is currently the most powerful of all the shards we know since he hasn't invested himself in anything. It's quite likely he could collide with any shard and kill them like that, then scatter the bits and pieces left over once he's finished. If he can get the two shards to kill each other it's all the better.
