Jezrein aka Ahu is currently living in Kholinar as a street beggar for many many years now.. the scene where dalinar meets him itself suggests that dalinar has met him a few times before.. I think they became , just for those occasions, drinking buddies.. lol.. Kholins often give out food to the beggars and Ahu comes to the palace often for those free meals.. I guess heralds need to eat may be.. or he likes to pretend.. During prologue of twok, Ahu/Jezrien was there too and he had met szeth.. told him look at my statue..

I really don’t see what could be seen wrong in a person trying to make physically handicapped people like him into his squires in the hope that they might heal themselves.. The fact that he lost his arm and was able to heal it because he had never accepted the loss, seems perfectly normal to me. We don’t know how long he was one armed. And I think people who develop a handicap later and are not born with it, always have difficulty adjusting and accepting the loss. But I like the idea that the one armed soldiers become his apprentices but not all of them are able to grow back their lost limbs.. I don’t particularly like his humour either.. I am often left bemused by his humour but I still do not dislike him and find myself intrigued by his over the top antics..

I think you are right in that blades should be more common than plate.. Is it not true that even in Alethkar, during the duels there were more people who had blades alone than plates? I don’t remember now.. Besides it makes sense that they are seen as equally rare in Alethkar because they have more shards than anyone else.. but in other nations, it may very well be possible that plates are much rarer.. I guess that would explain the research of jah keved into developing fabrial halfplates.. It is also possible that some organisations like the shin or Skybreakers went around collecting and hiding the Shardblades because we know that there should be so many more blades than actually are. But that same people paid more attention to Capturing the blades Instead of plates because the blades are more dangerous weapons in the hands of men. If it is Skybreakers, then it is also possible that highspren asked them to collect and hide shardblades out of respect to their fallen brethren spren....but did not care that much for Collection of shardplates

But I don’t think that any metal detector if invented in Mistborn era 3 or 4 is going to use non- magical means of detecting metals at all..

I think it is more because we see him from kaladin's perspective and Lopen has not got as much pov chapters as lift or wayne.. Totally agreed @Obnoxiousspren I had felt that there is some depth to him after all when i read this scene.. I would not be surprised if by SA4 lopen is running around having one-armed soldiers as his potential squires.. I think that there is depth to him which he tries to hide behind all the jokes.. Also, I would like to point out that Kaladin had entrusted Elhokar, King of Alethkar to Lopen, that shows the level of trust Kaladin puts in him..

Same here, SA is my favourite of all of Brandon’s works.. I love kaladin, he is just good a character and his story so beautifully written in twok.. Dalinar is second and stuff that he pulls out from time to time is just amazing to read.. Wit well.. I love that he is so loved but still is so mysterious.. we don’t even know if what he wants is something good or bad for humankind but we still like him..

My favourite character is kaladin because of course he is the stormblessed bridgeboy!!! after that comes Dalinar- because he does these amazing things when he is really pushed In a corner by someone I just love reading about such moments, Adolin - because he is a really genuinely nice person and an excellent judge of character, which is something I highly respect in people irl too, Jasnah - again I like that she is almost always right and tries to do the right thing the pragmatic thing but has a heart of gold too, Teft and rock - because their trio with kaladin was just awesome to read about in twok.. next would come Renarin - I always knew that he is someone who is going to be important later in the series, I mean when someone like Hoid tells you “ he is more strong than you give him credit for” well you pay attention! wit - because he is wit and lift - because she changed my mind about her when I terras the Edgedancer then the rest of bridge 4 including the newbies I thought I was the only one.. I really liked Skar, something about his pov just struck with me..
