I also really like that how dalinar has been very concerned throughout twok about Alethkar and how they have left it vulnerable! He even says that all the shardbearers are at the shattered plains leaving Alethkar indefensible. And he constantly expresses his desire to go back and rule their nation as it is meant to be ruled. It is really weird that king just left his country for 6 years and left ruling to Aesudan who is as inexperienced in matters of ruling as Elhokar !! while reading OB I was so sure that they will save Kholinar! But on a reread of the series, I realised that actually Alethkar’s fall was foreshadowed all over the way of kings!! It is not a surprise at all.

We do not really know who are these cytonics that use ftl communications and control the drones. Spensa has not seen them on the starsight. Her assumption was that they are somewhere remote and they are controlling these test drones etc. and I also wonder that cytonics are very rare! On starsight also they had Probably no other cytonic than brade and Spensa on the Transit ship also which had hyperdrive it was made clear that there are two of them onboard. But no more! So who are these cytonics using FTL commns? It is actually a very good question! Are they Some alien species? I think given that the number of drones are not more than 100/150 in any battle with detritus, I think that is the number of these cytonics. But they could be humans too right? Some humans who live on some remote prison planet who have succumbed to aliens and their propaganda and are actively helping them control other rowdy humans on other prisons!! Consodering that we have not yet seen or met them, I think we will be surprised!

i always thought that it was one of those alien superiority cytonics who use FTL communication to control the drones, who were also able to control Chaser. They made him see that his planet has lost and all his friends and all humans have been killed. And in his mind, he was killing aliens. They try to do the same to spensa too, but she is protected because m-bot can scramble their signals and prevent Spensa brain hi-jack.

I disagree. It is not a case of lack of empathy at all. They have a narrow convenient view of what it is called to be aggression. Moreover, the whole arc of mourimour is about how we should respect the differences in people and accept them for who they are! How can we decide who deserves to live or not? The very reason in defending Elysium why Jason went against the superiority is that he realised that it is not that these alien races have no dissent. It is just that they have very successfully curved the dissent. That is hardly the same thing!

I think I agree, he held the shard fully but the shard and it’s power was diffused all over Scadrial in the form of mists and therefore he did not have access to the full power of the shard.

I like your theory, I think it is possible. The only thing is if you are right then using slugs as hyper drives should prove even more dangerous than humans because then we are literally torturing the babies of delvers to protect ourselves from delvers!

Same here @Knight of Iron RoW is the first time I have got the chance to reread all the earlier books, form my own theories, participate in others theories here on the shard. I have lived every bit of it and most importantly I think this process helps me understand the books in a way I would not have if I had all 10 available with me in one go.

Wow.. book 4 we are going to get a foundational scene conceived from the very beginning! And this book is also about the very first radiant order Brandon created Could the two be related? I think the big scene in this book could be willshaper order related!!

I am not saying that she is hearing the delvers, I am saying that she is hearing the same hum from mbot as she does from the stars I.e. the eyes and now we know they are called delvers. I am wondering how connected the delvers are with all this. Cytonic abilities are related to nowhere and cytonics ability to tap into the nowhere. Delvers permanently reside in the nowhere. They are cytonic themselves, delver appeared instantaneously and travelled at FTL speed to starsight and then vanished in a moment back to nowhere. If mbot is using cytonics somehow for speedy calculations, his cpu could be something that was derived from delvers. I have read the threads suggesting this and I like this too but I have only one problem. If delvers were evolved from AI then someone somewhere had first made them! They should have already an understanding that life exists in the universe and that life is sentient. It should not have come as such a surprise to the delver in the book to realise the same!

Exactly I agree. And hence I think that their entire system is broken! Their way of looking at what can be considered aggressive is broken. The superiority is focusing on outwardly expressions of speech and display of emotions as the sole criterion for what is aggressive and what is not! But it is a very narrow way of looking at it! A person can be capable of controlling his facial expressions and speech with practice or due to social conditioning but there actions and their motivations could still be very aggressive! That is where Winzik falls for me and I am saying that he is as aggressive, rash and destructive in his actions as they blame humans to be! So, not only Winzik but the whole superiority as far as their whole belief system of aggression is bad or it goes away once primary intelligence is attained is a fraud!
