I was doing some research and finded this topic in the StormBlessed Forum: Now this make sense. To me the Knights Radiants Orders aren't only about fighting, they also should have served like, "Watcher against the Desolations" and have a Order that spreaded information fo sure would help the fight against the voidbringers. This is so true that Nohadon in one of Dalinar's vision said that the the humans allways forgot the danger of the Desolation and for greed them would in-fight, what caused great damage when the desolations arrived. So the Wolrdsinger primary work between Desolation would help the nations, by mutual understanding, not fight among themselves making easy to them fight together in the desolations This order could use the "travel" surge to help them in this task =) Crackpot Theory? EDIT - Is really hard to me express myself in english, so let me clarify a bit. I'm not saying that the Heralds commanded the Radiants or anything. To me they are much more influencied by the "Way of Kings" and the ideals present in the book. Nohadon understood that without preparation the Humankind are in serius danger. And a Order that worked to spread information and/or help the nations to respect which other, sure fit in the concept of "Not warrior Orders" that was aluded in this interview below. =)

Chicago Steelheart #2 - Preliminary Questions
Natans replied to Argent's topic in Events and Signings
If you can Ask him: - If the surges Granted by Honor are allways related with the concept of a "Sky God" (Electromagnetic force, Atmospheric pressure Gavity, etc) and Cultivation with the concept of a "Earth God" (Growth, etc) - If the Brightcallers and the Worldsingers are Radiants orders. - If Eletromagnetic Forces and Strong/Weak Atomics forces are really surges. Or ask him yours question that look good to =) -
Sorry for the double post but I would like to propose something. I was doing some research and finded this topic in the StormBlessed Forum "On p 768 (US hardcover), Sigzil states I spread knowledge of cultures, peoples, thoughts, and dreams. I bring peace through understanding. It is the holy charge my order received from the Heralds themselves. As the Radiants are the only groups that I have heard of that have received orders directly from the Heralds, this would make Worldsingers Radiants as well." Now this make sense. To me the Knights Radiants Orders aren't only about fighting, they also should have served like, "Wacther against the Desolation" and have a order that spreaded information fo sure would help the fight against the voidbringers. This is so true that Nohadon in one of Dalinar's vision said that the the humand allways forgot the danger of the Desolation and for greed them would in-fight, what caused great danger when the desolations arrived. So the Wolrdsinger primary work between Desolation would help the natitions ,by mutual understanding, not fight among themselves making easy to them figth togetherin he desolation This order could use the "travel" surge to help them in this task =) Crackpot Theory?

Ok after I readed this I remembered this interview. Will The Way of Kings series be based on one of the worlds and magic systems you have already created or are you inventing a totally new one for this series? It will be new. There are going to be a lot of different types of magic in the world (I see there's a question below asking about that, so I'll answer more there.) But there will be two main magic systems for the first book. The first will deal with the manipulation of fundamental forces. (Gravity, Strong/weak atomic forces, Electromagnetic force, that sort of thing.) The second will be a transformation based magic system, whereby people can transform objects into one of the world's ten elements. So if you put the Skybreakers wih the Electromagnetic force and the atmospheric pressure surges you possibelly would get a "Skybreaker". Nice Catch friend fit perfectly. I like very such the Sky God & Earth God division that you proposed, is very classical the "romance" between this forces and we know that Cultivation had a thing with Honor, that would fit like glove and explain a lot. By the way, anybody have a guess what could be strong/weak Atomic force ? I would relate this was a Honor surge in the place of the "heat" surge, The dustbringers could be the order that used this surge to make things go PUF! Or we could have the "Nuclear Badass's" order =)

I agree Upper side Honor, lower side Culivation, Skybreakears and "Emerald" order share a surge from Honor and one from Cultivation. Gravity and atmospheric pressureare Honor surges, after all his alias is "Stormfather" Growth are for sure Cultivation. Friction ? Never heard about.

Nightblood is off maybe some another Awakened Blade (how knows maybe one that aren't psyco)

I agree that half of the spreens are of cultivation and half are of honor, and say more the surges must follow the same logic(5 cultivation and 5 honor) Transformation for sure are a cultivation's surge (fit very well in the nature of her shard). About the Brightcallers, I'm not 100% sure if they are a order, but the name fit in the context so =)

Just an observation. I noticed that all orders names revealed share a "theme" with other order. Windrunners and Skybreaker - Air Lightweavers and Brightcallers - Light Stonewards and Dustbringers - Earth Another set of coincidences. The Windrunners and the Skybreaker, by the word of god, share one surge (gravity or atmospheric pressure I bet in the second). The stonewards, that I believe is the order of Talanel also shares a surge with the order of Kalak. Kalak in the prelude of all order cited only the "Dustbringers" and the Soulcasting properties of the gem associeted with his order is metal. So in a long shot a guess that his order is the dustbringers, and rock(Talanel) and metal(Kalek) share the same theme. Shallan and Jasnah orders share the transformation surge so they are neighborhood orders. Some people believe that Shallan order are the lightweavers, and for sure when Jasnah uses he soulcast power in distant targets she cast rays to "make contact" with victim, cast rays for sure can be interpreted as a Brightcaller so I guess that Jasnah order is the Brightcallers. If I'm correct we have 3 groups of 2 orders that share a surge and a theme. And a I say more, i guess that one surge come from honor and the other comes from cultivation, what make the oathpact nothing more that the agreement between honor and cultivationto give form to the magic sytemof roshar =) Crackpot theory, I know, but to me make sense. Sorry for my musings =)

Chasmfiends and the ecological impact of five years of hunting
Natans replied to Gloom's topic in Stormlight Archive
I allways was under the impression that, killing the clamsfiends was a good thing because, i think that in the future they could be "changed" by odium into a "voidbringer kind o being", so kill them now in save the trouble in the future . OR The clasmfiend are of cultivation (the rare spren that appear when you tkae out the gemheart is a clue) and the wolrd is in deep trouble if they are killer =) How knows Mr. Sanderson was the little habit of flip the table unespected =)- 19 replies

Kalladin wood weapon against a Sharplate or Clasmfiend ?
Natans replied to Natans's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree with this line of thought. And a say more, maybe there is only 100 or so spreen of every order. If you believe that some kinds of spreens(honor, truth) are splinters or being of great investidure from the honor shard is possible that there is a limited number of spreens given the fact the the shard power isn't inifinite, so honor would have to limit number of nahel spreen that he could create because, otherwise he would spent too much of his investidure. XXXX- Spoiler - XXXX If you look to the Seons, of Elantris, that are in fact spinter of devotion is possible to notice that this kind of investidure being isn't very frequent. -
Kalladin wood weapon against a Sharplate or Clasmfiend ?
Natans replied to Natans's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think that a Thounsand Radiant is the total number with the same number of blades and plates because of the symbology with the number 10, and because in the vision where Dalinar was saved by that two radiants, the windrunner said that Dalinar should try be a radinat but he couldn't promise an place in one of the orders,(because of the numeric limit I think) =) -
Kalladin wood weapon against a Sharplate or Clasmfiend ?
Natans replied to Natans's topic in Stormlight Archive
I was think along of secret imprisionament. If nobody knows that the strange shardbear how crashed the the front gate of Kholimar is a Herald nobody will care, or do anything, what would fit just right with a secret evil named organazation like the Ghostbloods =) Of course is impossible to know what will really happens, but I'm with the impression that Taln will gonna suffer a good deal before he can convince everyone that he is a Herald =) -
Kalladin wood weapon against a Sharplate or Clasmfiend ?
Natans replied to Natans's topic in Stormlight Archive
That will depend of who found him. If the ghostbloods or another organazation that knows that the true desolation is coming find him and take him way he could, very well, be put in some kind of prison to futher their agenda, how knows what kind of information he can be forced to give. I thnk that almost none of the major player are showed and this is a great oportunity to show how are the imediate antagonist of the serie. =) -

Ok, A little context is needed here beforewe can jump to conclusion that Jasnah is some kind of rutless killer. Given the Taravagian exemple her sister-in-law can be some kind of psycho that Jasnah thinks that can put in risk her familty so the master spy act. And in the case of the 4 bandits in the book one, I really think that she must have some kind of major trauma (my guess is that she was raXXd) and like Kalladin she was great bias againt this kind of person, aka Bandits. All in all I'm with her in the case, if you are ready to draw your sword be ready to be cut down by someone with a bigger sword, or like we say "se você não sabe brincar então não desca para o playground" In the end I don't think the Jasnah is Evil, just a little similar with Kelsier in some aspects =)
