    Lol Shallah-Kaladin-Syl Threasome? I woudn't dare discord but, personally I allways thinked that Kaladin had someone in the Amaram army that helped him to not "burn away" when Tien died, and I'm a sucker to historys of someone helping you when you are in down in the pit, So I bevieve in Tarah-Kaladin And if i'm correct now that Amaram are going to Shattered Plains I think that Kaladin will met someone from his dear past =)

    WOW! You must have all the Renarin quotes cataloged, I readed WOK four or so times and didn't catch this "Brothermance" quotes before. Nice =) Nothing against anyone here (I allready ultrapassed my downvote limit from a day) But I really didn't get how or why Renarin or Adolin could turn "anti-hero". C'mon both are more in the path to radiantness than anything. Renarin is calm and smart and Adolin, with the Dalinar's Vision conflict, really man up in a good way in the last book. I could bet that both will turn out to be Radiants soon than later. =)

    *Cofcof* Miss FeatherWriter I really liked your shipping Renarin post's, But I think that by the nature of this discussion, you inadvertedly may have planted the seed of a very dangerous thing, AKA "The Shiping War". I see that many are creating they own times like JasAdin and such. So in the event of the flame wars errupt. I will hold you accountable by this grievous crime.=) PS: Sorry for the musings I had to much coffee today =)

    Free Upvote because a really like your drawings =) I don't know if I agree with Renarin confident argument. When he was talking with Dalinar ( The "I will not be the first son a of a great warrior that was no talent to batle") I was under impression that he was a bit insecure and/or bitter. But how know. if he show some promisse with his shine new shardplate maybe you guys are right, but now is hard to me do believe so.

    - The parshendi killed Gavilar becasue "The evil sphere of doom" was a corruped spren that could create a "voidbringer parshendi form". And Surgebinders will have no more than 3 powers, and specifically windrunners will only be able to infuse and perform the 3 lashings as defined in the Ars Arcanum of tWoK. Agree Windrunnners have a "Force Push" ability. Disagree The Stonewards have a communication ability (I believe the female knight exercises it in the Starfalls vision, but I don't know if that will ever be confirmed). Disagree There are 10 different types of spren that give the ability to Surgebind and they are all Splinters. Agree Stormriding: is not a regular power of Surgebinding. It's a side-effect of either being a Surgebinder or a Radiant. Disagree Riding the storm is the Windrunner special ability. No other Radiants will be able to do it. Agree Szeth is in possession of an Honorblade. Agree Shardblades are corrupted by Odium. Disagree Shallan's brother (Nan Heleran?) was the Shardbearer who attacked Amaram back in Alethkar.     I was under the impression that not all gemhearts are emeralds. We only have the description of kind of gem gained in the kings hunt, and by the context I pretty sure that the emerald wasn't the only kind of gem that could be gained. So if I'm right and, let's say, only 1/10 (there is 10 gems) of the gemhearts are esmeralds by your calculation (25 gems month) the parshendi would get 2 or 3 esmeralds to use to soul cast they food. An again by yours counts that would be barely sufficient to feed all the parshendis =) Edit: Ninja'd very hard

    I really like this convesation so let me in with my vague ideas and re-re-used post =) "I THINK" (ME, MYSELF ) that Roshar's magic sytems basically work in this way: Surgebinding The sprens, in a rough way, are atracked by certain virtues and when they find someone that REALLY live they lives by this virtues they make a bond (nahel bond) with this person, that ultimately give that person a specific set of surgebind powers (that I like to call "cognitive ideas of forces" like gravity and transformation). In a cosmere aproach I would think that when the spren bond with a person they turn in a kind of escape valve/hack of the cognitive realm. The spren make possible to a person have acess to certain forces(surges - cognitive ideas of forces) in a similar way that a Elantrian have acess to the "cognitive ideas" in their world when they draw Aon to create a certain effect. I think that the sprens rewrite the SDNA of the user to make him able to have acess to the congnitve realm in some predefined way. Think in this way, a spren is like a len("focus") that when a person cast a light("investidude"-stormlight) create a specific spectrum of light (effect-surge-(cognitive ideas of forces). The "intent" is the desire of the user to use his power. I think that In Elantris something similar occur, but the difference is that there the raw investidure(energy) is all trapped inside of the cognitive world creating pressure, what make easy to full the "cognitive ideas" with energy "investidure". An aon works like a valve, how when you open, release "the cognitive idea of a force" defined by the kind o valve used(Aon), in broad way, this is very similar to a surge the difference is that a spren give you acess to a only a few fixed "cognitive ideas of forces" and which person can only "bond" with only a spren so there is a limit what a person can do. A Elantrian can use every aon so in this aspect they have acess do much more "cognitive ideas of forces" to create different effects. Two very similar magic sytems but with different aspects=) The fabrials The spren ("focus") is trapped in a gem, and when you give stormlight ("investidure") to it you create a effect defined by the kind of spren you trapped. The "intent" here is the the metal frame in the Fabrial that create a pattern in the light cast by the gem. WoR Spoilers Spoiler The Parshendi forms Here a spreen bond with a parshendi. I think that the parshendis could have some kind of gemheart(physical or cognitive I don't know), and by bonding with a spreen ("focus") in a highstorm ("investidure") they can change forms by trapping the sprens (cognitive idea) inside them. PS: Another thing to me is that the highstorm are in reality a BIG HOLE in the physical world thar leaks the investidure present in the cognitive world directly in form of energy in Roshar. Together with this hole come the sprens "cognitive being" that are kind of sucked in the physical world. What made this hole, Honor death. Before him die only a small part of investidure that are used by him and cultivation existed(fewer spren existed), after him the physical and cognitive wolrds lost the equilibrium what created more sprens(splinters) and the highstorms( Investidure without intent of a person do control)

    I don't know if Sly hate the "blade" itself or what the blade represent. Sly don't like pain and sufferring (she said to Kaladin that be part of a battle deeply disturbed her, don't remember the exact quote) and a shardblade is the maximum representation of grief. If you think about every blade must be tainted by the death of hundreds or thousands, to a pacifist have to deal with something like this would very disturbing. When Kaladin rejected the blade, she saw in him something that she thinked herself. This could be something like when you met a person that have the same tastes that you have. Or could be a primal instinct of survival, because she "feel" that a blade could kill her even with her fragmented memory =)

    They allways could call Esme Bianco to play a "courtesan" and fill the quote I would be happy with anything, I even liked Sword of Truth serie, with all cheesiness included =) But give the nature and legth of the books I think that only a anime could, in a not astronomical budget, show all the awesomeness of the books. (let's be frank Kaladin brigde 4 rescue in the midle of a battle would be the nightmare of any producer). For now I would be happy with ARC copy of the book two =)

So the effect would be defined by the light pattern casted by the frame and the kind o spren you trapped. Example: A fire spren could be trapped to give constant heat or a great bust of heat and the Stormlight would be consumed in differents velocities. Another example, I think that some soulcaster can use all essences because they are made with the "complet frame", and some can only use a few esences because they use a "simple frame".

    I thought this too, but the Starfalls female Stoneward killed this theory to me =) And in the "Day of Recreance Vision" I think that there are both female and male radiants of the stonewards and windrunners orders.     To early to shipping. But I like the Shallarin idea. Sanderson likes to make the "underdog" shine and Renarin for sure will have his moment of glory, how knows maybe is Shallan that make him "take a level in badass" nothing like have a love crush to make a man out of a boy =)
