  1. Teft killed him
  2. I maybe be wrong. But Teft said that which order had different ideals based in the "Way of Kings" that had 40 parables. So 10 order x 4 unique ideals( the fist one are shared among all) = 40 ideals. One ideal for parable. This make sense given the fact that Nohadon wrote the book was a guide book for the KR. What is futher confirmed given the fact that Gavilar was "studying" the book to understand what are the "Most important words that a man can say" AKA the 40 (plus one) Ideals. But upvotes for you, I liked your thoughts about the matter they make sense =)
  3. Ok, now I'm sold DARKNESS was a former Herald =) Blackie, Drunk fool, and Vandal. Three very diferent kinds of madness, make perfect sense. Poor Taln, I dread to think how much mental damaged you are, after you last vacation in damnation. I gonna dig In BS site to see what I can find, maybe there is futher evidence in the old posts =) PS: I really liked to see how much Sanderson matured as writer from the time when he wrote this to day. If you think about, if he keep getting better, by the time he publish the last SA book he gonna write the best fantasy book in history =)
  4. Given the nature of Vorin culture they probably must have some kind Common Law system, and if so make sense that the Women acts like laywers. Upvote for you name_here =) I had forget this one about High Judges, and given the fact they take very serious duel, I think that indeed the "Law study" must be a feminine art, after all to apply the rules you must be able to read it LOL =) So in the military the commanders rule the cases, Amaram making Kaladin a slave prove this. And in the civil, a highjudge maybe apply the law. Another thought, Kaladin's father tried to use the law to beat Roshone. So if Roshone "broked" the law they would need call a highjudges to rule the case ? If so indeed almost all the power in Vorin Culture is in the hands of the women.
  5. Now a silly doubt. The Law professions (judge, lawyer, etc) are a masculine or feminine art ? Commerce and physical labor are a masculine. Art and science are femine. But I think that law professions could be masculine or feminine, I can see both genders was lawyers, judges. (The women because of study, and the men because of the power that in entitled). Any thoughts ?
  6. True, but for what we know now, there is litle space to say that the Heralds gonna redeem themselves. Now they are pictured as traitors and deserts, maybe you are right and there is a motive(what I think that isn't the case for jez and kelek), but even in this is the case what they had done cannot be put as a good or normal thing. Because Isn't normal let everyone suffer so you escape, this is a really selfish thing. They could have at least tried tell the true look for a alternative, a replacement like you sugested but Jez said that they would simplely let everyone think that they won. not a nice thing in my book =) In my country someone that desert in the face of the enemy receive was punishiment death(the one case where such punishiment is used), and the Heralds deserted when all the wolrd needed them, so the damnation looks the right place to them go =)
  7. Upvote for you. I agree we are only human. But in fiction and an reality there are people how do what is right because someone was to do it. Call me a fool but, This idea present in the book, of self-sacrifice and moral duty, is one of the High point to me. The Heralds do the exact oposite of what was expected of them, they betrayed a friend to suffer what they didn't wanna suffer. And the consequence of they acts are disastrous.
  8. I begrudge(nice word this one) =) The Heralds betrayed the trust of a friend in the most evil way and breaked a oath that could possible have helped cause the death of their god, and other gods, and who knows how many humans in many shards are affected, by letting Odium gain space in roshar. Honor said that their war in Roshar could affect the very pillar of stars (or something by this effect) needless to say that keeping the oathpact are of extreme importance. Jez said that them, by free will, choiced they fate and then deserted, Taln keeped his oath by free will and for sure he is paying for the their betray, (no amount of guilt if there is any) will clean this. In my opinion their treason is the thing that caused most damage in the cosmere. Jez said that better one man suffer then 10, but he forgot that is better to that 10 suffer then billions die =) PS: I really hate traitors =)
  9. I only thing that I think would motive The heralds, (the ones that aren't psyco or droolling) is the fear to die again and go to damnation, like they dreaded enough to betray a friend to almost eternal suffering. Jez even thinked that if Taln are trapped that would be enough to prevent the Everstorm. Great friend this one , "Hey Taln go to damnation and stay there alone with fire, hooks forever, so we nine can hang out in Roshar" In my book all nine are in the same level of selfishness that Sadeas or Amaram, doing what is good to them and letting everyone to deal it with the problems. Even Black, if he is how many say, motives look to me a selfish excuse, he doing what he is doing just because he is afraid that the last desolation occur. And to prevent that he trod upon anyone in his path, instead of do what he had to.
  10. What are one more a sin to a lost soul ? The heralds already made poor Taln eat the bread that the devil stepped on for 4500 years!!!!! If there is enough humanity in all the heralds together to fill a cup I would be suprised. Quoting Kaladin there is no great sin to betray out bother-in-arms =)
  11. Palindrome you joke with me =) I understand this as much do you understand what is a "Mesóclise" in my language =) (Falar-te-ia mais se não fosse incortês empregar meu idioma natal neste fórum) But thanks to try teach this ileterate fool, that here speak with you, a little bit kind sir. In your homage I, henceforth promise allways write Urithiru correctly. =) By the way a floating city that would be nice. But if it was indeed a floating city, the center of the Shattering Plains woundn't be a mountain or something ? A city(large rock) woundn't disintegrate if falled from the sky from a not orbital height, or would ?
  12. And there goes my Ilusions =) Down to theoryland I go to understand what happened in Sel. Tks WW =)
  13. If Taln can infuse he allways could do the "make my eyes shine with a light color" trick and convice the people that at least he was some powers that are associeted with Heralds and/or Radiants, what for sure would help prove his point. In true I'm more worried by the opossite. There is some organizations that are well aware of the eminent desolation, and to capture and/or kill a potential herald could be very useful, so if Taln let his guard down he could end in another "dammation" even before he could help the humans protect the wolrd against the EverStorm.
  14. Well, there is plenty of what you say in many animes but, not all animes are so "over the top". Cowboy Bebop is a classic exemple. There is Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and many other that are more "realistic".
  15. And there goes another happy sharder =) Is so nice when we help which other. Upvotes to Kurkistan keeper of oaths(and bets) =)
  16. Indeed. I allways thinked that Honor death caused the shattering. Like when in Elantris, the death of Devotion caused(probally) the clasm that messed with the Aons. At least to me make more sense given the fact that the city that was destroyed(urithahru...... insert_correct _name) could be the the font of the parshendi weapons, what place the shattering in a "not so far" past. If the shattering occured because of the "Adonalsium death" tha Shattered Plains woudn't have weapons with the herald's faces, because the heralds are created by Honor who only "borned" after the "Adonalsium death". =)
  17. One doubt, what is the big deal with upvotes anyway ? This is a thing you can give losing nothing, and apparently receive one make the person happy, so maybe the people could be more "open handed" and spread happiness =) LoL
  18. Don't fancy yourself to much I'm easy target, because of my almost complete innabilty to elaborate in words what I think in this language But take this upvote with my cumpriments anyway because I liked your snarkyness There is already a "gay" person ( I don't like this word very much) in the book in the brigde 4 crew. I know that to some people think that gay character are "unusual", but I agree with this interview of Mr.Sanderson, the sexuality of a person/character don't change almost anything in the plot, so no big here
  19. I must disagree: 1- When he was a boy he was a crush for Laral 2- In Amaram amry there is Tarah ( I could bet taht in this pond there is fish) 3- He blushed when the looked to the expoded safe hand of the courtesean in Sadeas army. Maybe he hadn't many chances to look for this kind of thing but now, in this new position this could change fast. Nothing to say. I gonna wait and see =)
  20. o.O Wicked?! I mean very bad I would hate that something like this ocurred. *Point do Rand* The fault is all his =)
  21. There is only two quotes the good one is this: "What would have happened to him, if Tarah hadn't coaxed him out of his single-minded dedication? Would he have burned himself out, as she'd claimed" Sure Miss Aetea, I think that Miss FeatherWriter, could share with you, there is about 30 (blahhh) "attractive bridgemen", more than enough to two people.
  22. Outnumbered and outgunned. I give up =) Nay. Just joking. We don't know what happened Dear Aetae, don't be too haste to julge, maybe some frying pan was involved =) And miss FeatherWriter, I let you keep the "attractive Bridgemen" they have no use to me, because I don't like tanned muscular men O.o So let be said that I'm a merceful person =) (I must learn keep my tongue in the mount =) )
  23. Just kidding Madam, but best safe than sorry when playing with fire . And like Sadeas is allways good to have someone to blame from the big mistakes(that's you, sorry =P). That said, I new here and everything thata say, for sure, is just my impressions but the sharders are a nice enough folk =) o.O Now a can !!! LOL And How heartless of your part, the "Underdog turn Big Gun and romance a previously forbbiden person" is always fun
  24. That would be serius wicked I like it =)
