  1. He use it a lot, I re-read Dalinar chapters recently, look in the tower battle, or in the vision where Dalinar save the little girl.
  2. Weiry Writer with space ?
  3. The shardblade must be a secret for everyone, because don't make sense that she with a blade that is worthly, basically anything, would propose try steal a soulcast to pay their debts, when they could sell the blade saying that the blade was a secret family heirlom, or even use the blade to gain status, after all anyone that have a blade are basically in the upper class of society. What can complicate the things is if the blade also come from the ghostbloods, but if is the blade come from them i don't think that Shallan know this, she looks know almost nothing about them, even the fact that her father, (and maybe her big bother) are members of that organization. And another thing. I don't think that Shallan is so indefese like she looks, to me she must have some martial training. (Well she is the best candidate for a female radiant warrior, and would be nice see her with a blade and plate kicking some chull in the next books, like a secret shardplate user)

  5. Kaladin use of the dead parshendi "armors" aren't so bad was killing some thugs. For example, in my country both are crimes, for the first you could get 1 to 3 years, for the second 12 to 30 years, great diference. And like here i think everywhere the second is much more worse than the first. Said this, what Kaladin did was completly necessary for him and brigde 4 survive. When you have two ideal that conflict ( respect of the dead and life) it's necessary to weight both for the most important be preserved. What Kaladin did, to me, was a perfect moral justification given the situation where he was put.
  6. Tips?
  7. Well was some here already know 17th Shard forum celebrate the "Ookla the mokovial" holiday, where all fellas Shardies are invited to change their user names in homage to the birthday of Ookla the Mok (Dear Mr. Peter Ahlstrom, Brandon's assistant). And as like every good Holiday we need some traditions to celebrate this date. Said this I propose a little game =) Without cheating, and only looking at the avatar pic, you must say the original user name of the person that posted before you without ANY MISTAKE, until someone answer correctly. So anyone care to try a hand and show how well you know your Shardie friends =) PS: More info about this holiday in this topic http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/4684-happy-ookla-the-mokovial-with-more-2013-in-it/
  8. Played XCOM EU and like very much. It's such a shame that we don't have many games in this style, some of the best game that i have played are TRPG, like FFT, or Ogre tactics. So, by any chance, you champs had any indication of games like this to a friend with the same taste?
  9. About Jasnah breaking the first ideal, I think that if her order have a a secondary ideal like "Do not let the evil take hold" or something in this line she would be fine. Another thing even life before death is a relative thing. The radiant don't seek take life but they can when that are the only way. We don't know what are the ideals of every order, and as she pointed moral is a relative thing, and likewise the others ideals can be. Maybe by killing that thugs she was indeed acting in accordance with the ideals of her order. And, to me she didn't done anything wrong, my humanitary heart don't fell anything when a murder/thief are killed when they are just about to mug/kill/rxxxp "indefese" women, but hey this is just me.
  10. Happy birthday. Mr. Peter. Have a long and good life. Ok I'm in =) There is anything else that you must know too celebrate this important date ?
  11. Well, if the expousure are severe the problem are that the gold compounder would leak radiation everywhere for a time, not a nice way to make friends =)
  12. Exact. Sanderson always pull that kind of thing. The fact is that even after a whole book I didn't even know if the enemy is really the enemy, and to me that speak volumes about the depth of this books =)
  13. I agree in part, but she liked her brother and the true could very well be "improved". Said that I don't really believe that Shallan would fall for that, and Amaram would be aware os Shallan because he would know that her brother are with the ghostbloods, and, of course, wouldn't share his dirty litle secret with the enemy, but even soo, if Shallan discovery the true she could very well be misguided to believe in Kaladin guilt and take action. Just saying, not that i really believe. But i would like see some developemt about this little theory here about he shardbear that Kal killed. LOL
  14. Well if Kaladin killed Shallan brother, that will put a very hard barrier in Kaladin path, because he would basically gain the hate of a pontential future Knight Radian, and If Shallan don't understond the reason for Kaladin kill her brother, she could easily try some kind of revenge against him, that could create a very complex situation in the Kholin family. Let's say, if Amaram know that that Kaladin killed Shallan brother, she could use that to influence Shallan in some way. Shallan could give her proximity with Jasnah, like we say in my country, "make his skull" to her, and Dalinar would be in a bad position because he kind trust Kaladin and for sure trust Jasnah, and Jasnah mistrusting Kaladin would force Dalinar force to take sides. Adolin are at odd with Kaladin because Kal put him down, very harsly for a darkeye in the tower, and he could dislike Kaladin taking side with Jasnah And Kaladin hate almost all lighteyes, if someone plot against him he could act against that person. In the end, would gonna depend how the characters interact with which other, if Sanderson follow the example of Jordan, and none of their main charecters really talk which other this could very well turn very bad. Me like =) PS: Man the face that Amaram will make when he heard about Kaladin and his deeds and see him will made this book. I can almost see. Kaladin -"Hi Amaram, nice plate that you have there, carry to say how do you get it ?" Amaram turn and see Kaladin with his uniform of Captain in Dalinar army and say "................. F@#k" The little pleasures of life =)
  15. I really can't make my mind about the parshendi. They are the odd ones, or the parshmen are? Why only them remember the forms? They originated from a faction that fighted with the Radiants against the voidbringers, or are the descedents of the voidbringer that survided. I can easily see the parshemen revolt if, out nothing, they bond voidbringer spren. But what about the parshendi, they don't wnet return of their old gods, soo they are "good" guys. I have a hunch that shen is gonna help a lot understand this mess, but know this to me are one of the big mysterys of the book =)
  16. I know, I wasn't trying to defend a theory(yet), Jez order is associated with Leading, Protecting, and associated the honor spren. Every order was multiple aspects, Leading and protecting are their virtues. Honor is stonglly associated with this order, so like I said I'm waiting to see what piece fit in the frame, for now only a idle thought =) Soulcast change, but to a common person, change something out of thin air, looks very close to add something out of nothing. Like i said this could be a case of decline of knowledge, I don't know yet after I read WOR how knows maybe I will have enough data =) And one upvote for the Fullmetal reference, boy a like this one.
  17. I believe that the way of kings is bonded the sprens to the 40 ideal, but I think like Honor said, that this is diferent from the oathpact two similar things but diferents origins =)
  18. I was joking around when I posted this =) But, Szeth, the mercant, the term truthless be reserved to the most horrible kind of person, all indicate that, at least, be honest is the principal focus in their society, as in the Alenthi be "honorable" take a major role in their culture( the alenthi codes of war, the fact that all lighteyes are expected to be honorable, etc.) Another thing being HONEST are a virtue associeted with one of the orders that can soulcast. The title the one that add is suspicius to me. Why the one that add? Maybe a reference to the obvius nature of the soulcaster, and before every one begin, I'm not saying that today they can soulcast, but, is possible that the term originate from there (Sanderson love play with the theme of decline of knowledge) I have a pet theory that which one of the ten silver kingdom are the emboidement of one divine aspect. Alenthi = Honor, Shinovar = Honest, Reshi = Wise, careful, etc. But I'm waiting to futher information that prove my point, because I think that i passed my limit of "no fundamented theories" this year. Just Saying;)
  19. Second that ! (If only I knew how do it =))
  20. I like this theory =) Take this upvote with my regards. And I would like to add another tidbit that maybe would help reforce your theory. Idon't know if you are 100% correct, but I think that you are in the right direction,
  21. ...Cofcof... She is a lighteye, I can't really tell you way but she is suspicius Gloom dear friend, Adolin courted more women in this book that I can remember (five or six). I don't desire that he suffer, but to him receive a little bit of his own poison is gonna be good, there is nothing a like smart&beutiful woman to make a man idiot, how knows maybe he could emerge a better man after being made a fool =) (And let's be honest he get bored of a woman then he ignore or make stupid mistakes that infuriate her, not a very gallant knight in my book)
  22. Hello. I gonna add a new one. - Moash is a bastard son of a lighteye or he is a darkeye born of two lighteyes. - Agree
  23. I don't trust Dalan, to me she is a spy (Sadeas?) or have a secret agenda. Adolin will gonna suffer in the hand of this one, not that he don't deserve a little bit of payback for all his womanizer ways, after all some days you hunt some days you are hunted
