I fell this too. A person can only dogde the bullet so many times, eventually somebody will have sucess and kill her. I think that she are in deep problem because she are telling important things too fast, in the same chapter she booked Shallan and Adolin and talked meters of the surgebinder process, and worse she gived a guide book to radiant powers to Shallan, too much in to little time =(

I like Rothfuss like any other men, and I believe that he is very good in his style, but after Martin I kind afraid to commit to any author that have long book production length It's is very anoying wait 4/5 year for a sequence. In this Brandon it's one of the best. The man are write machine. Second I think that Brandon are much more cinematografic his fight sequence are like good movies, and his books are full of emotion. I'm not stoic but I can't remember recently any other book that made raise from my chair like WOK do it in the Tower Battle. That was awesome I still got goosebumps every time I read that scene, what I wouldn't do get that part of the book turned in a movie or animation =) Like this probably

Yeah about that think like this, the Alenthi society, a very Militar Nation, discover that the parshman are potential bringers of the Apocalipse and that only way that their can survive it's send they away, what they will do ? Send away Thousands or millions of enemies that are still docile but hat later could turn violent ? Two thing I'm very eager to see. Amaram and Kaladin first meeting. And sly and Puppy spen first meeting. If Amaram look at Kaladin and his blood don't freeze I'm be damned. But I guess that the third ideal of the radiants are "I will keep the promises that are made" This gonna be his conflict this book. Do what he must even if he are afraid. In Allomancy you need snap to begin use you genetic allomantic powers in the Surgebinding you must "snap" as a pre-requisite to the process begin. I understand tha argument about Amaram doing what was necessary, and that he aren't evil, and he only did something evil on need, but this is enough to justify what he did ? I mean there is a highway with 6 fast track to hell paved only with good intetions, it's is easy to justify everthing if you put a "great need" or the "colective good" as ultimate goal, but history is full of "good intentions" with very hard consequences. To me is simple he must aswer for what he did, that is that, after that he could prove all his good intention doing what is right in the right way, not liying, killing and make of the life of others miserable. =)

I think only the "minor spren" are trapped. Even The fabrials that replicate Surge powers must trap non-sentient spren. For example if one wanted replicate the Windrunners powers you wouldn't trap a Honor spren but bindsprens and gravityspren, spren that for what we know know don't have much in terms of personality and are direct related with that power. Side note - Following this logic i believe that to make soulcaster you don't need trap a liespren but trap a much more common spren the "creation spren". well that would be my guess.

Nice books, first one was the better one i really liked some themes like that the "old wolrd" are a modern society with fire weapons and nuclear energy. Liked the magic system too, and the paintedman are a nice character. But man i think that Brett put to much sex without reason in the books, one of the main themes look like to be who will "end up" with who. The climax of the last book also are let down to me. Overall i liked and really hope that in the next book are more "easy" to read. =)

Tal are herald of War Alenthekar are the Kingdom that supposed to maintain the war arts, that could be connected. Kurkistan my best guess would be 10 or 11(With the lost city that, for my soul, I can't spell) because there are 10 silver Kingdom, and because 10 are the number in Roshar New pet theory which Herald as sent to a Dawncity whose "theme" combined with the given herald. Make sense send one to which city them could unify all Kingdom to the fight. We have the herald of dreams and lucky, someone remember if other herald "themes" appeared in the book ?

So the Heralds are summoned to Alenthekar Capital, with a reason or the place that Tal appeared are random.

So the only viable option is to know where you can anchor you ship to let Roshar natural formation break the storm. To me the best equipament that a ship could have are a very good map a with safe locations on the coast and a stormwarden list of future storms to prevent be catch in one. Second best =)

Knowing Dalinar as a "Man of extremes" i kind believe that him asked to the nightwatcher to easy the pain he felt after his wife died and both the Boom and Curse are that he forgot his wife, he no longer suffer but now he can't remember a thing. Bonus point in Irony if he loved his wife more than Navani and know he can't even remember that. Triple points if he latter remember that see the mistake that he made. But a believe thatwe only will have the aswer to that question in Book 5 where he will have his flashbacks. PS: Side note by WOB Renarim have a spren and we know by Lift example that the Nightwatcher can give surge/spren related boons, so maybe the Renarim blood weakness his spren and the curse are all related, after all Dalinar asked himself what especially Renarin would think about this.

Some already proposed this (and that Elhokar drawed the gems himself given the fact that apparently he see Liesprens,and soulcasting is more associeted with broken gems than any other surge that already appeared) but you take on this is very good. By what we gather in the book the are several limitations of what you can soulcast, see Kaladin comment about Stone barracks, also soulcast is a Holy Affair done mostly in secret, maybe the Ardentia have restriction of what they will do with their soulcaster. Last, it was said that soul cast larger structures are much harder than small ones, soulcast a whole brigde out of thin air could be to much. Just my oppinon tought.
