  1. Different opinions than I'm used to seeing, yes. But this is coming from the guy who stated 5 elim reads and voted 0, so who even knows at this point xD Fair enough. And for the benefit of everyone else, I'll mention here that the PM Chameleon just sent me I believe comes from a village mindset (this no doubt adds to Meerkat's paranoia that Chameleon and I are e/e, which I honestly just find hilarious). I'm moving off of Chameleon for that reason, and onto Gorilla for their opportunistic vote just now. I'm aware that puts me as the leading train but I'm alright with that seeing how fluid the count has been, and considering those who are voting me. Best new pfp tbh Praise the Ja! Edit: @Turquoise Gorilla Any comments on the irony of voting me when you say I'm a null for you, but most people's reason for voting me is that I voted a null read? Yes, I know the scenarios aren't the same but I still thought it was funny. Praise the Ja!
  2. I typically don't like to suspect people for having a different opinion than I do. In this case, it's just a... lot of differing opinions together that all seem to be you trying to justify your vote on me when you initially just piggybacked off what other people said. I'll be afk for an hour or so but will be back to answer any further interrogations put forth Praise the Ja!
  3. Nah let's go on Chameleon Let's be clear, this has nothing to do with the discussion I had with Chameleon about me holding my ground. I was happy to hold my ground in the safety of Dingo, but I'm happier on a suspect I have clearer reasoning for. Confidence was restored, you could say, by their recent posts. Praise the Ja!
  4. That's an unfair generalization to elims, I think They're more than capable of coming up with decent reasoning, otherwise they wouldn't win games. And villagers are more than capable of coming up with faulty reasoning, otherwise they wouldn't lose games :P. Praise the Ja!
  5. I praise the Ja regardless of the content of the sentence before it. [Meaning I stick the phrase at the end of every post, and so when I edited it, the edit became the last thing I typed in that post, and so it needed a new PtJ. Truly had nothing to do with your post, I'm aware of your position on me.] Praise the Ja!
  6. Ha, I thought you were going to say that you thought I stuck my teammates lower and didn't want to kill them. You instead said the opposite, which makes much less sense to me as a reason. If I were an elim I wouldn't be worried about that, it'd be my goal. Elims wants to end up voting villagers, just as long as there's a reason them to do so. I'm sure you agree that there was enough of my own reasoning to vote Hyena or Gorilla when I made that list, but I didn't want to. Whereas an elim putting teammates as elim reads makes sense in the case of not voting elim reads, but you can't claim that as reasoning since I thought of it. Edit: Ninja'd by Meerkat who said that much more eloquently than I did. Praise the Ja! It's not that I don't suspect Dingo. It's a bit of an issue in how I marked my tiers; Null can be spilt into Null+, True Null, and Null-, and Dingo is definitely in a solid Null- for me. That was a bit of a trick question from me because in my mind, a hot take immediately withdrawn because it's put under fire is suspicious. I was decently sure that opinion was held by just about everybody so I figured you'd answer opposite the way you did. And the bolded section I just have no clue what it means Praise the Ja!
  7. Because I, as an elim, would take the time to craft a completely made-up reads list and not bother to actually stay true to it because obviously no one would think anything of me not voting someone I marked as Spiked! Makes sense to me Or maybe I made a list and then didn't feel good about it, posted it anyway, and voted elsewhere. Would you read me as more villagery if I had folded under pressure and relented to the people calling me out? Praise the Ja!
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe you've mentioned any suspicions on me before? Or in this post? What about me are you suspicious of? Voting me creates a fun mindgame because if the votes stay as they are right now until EoD, I'll vote you in self pres so that you have to vote Gorilla in self pres. Though the chance of the votes staying as they are is minimal. This paragraph gives me bad vibes in the sense of saying a lot but ultimately saying very little, though I am biased due to the red name in the middle. Praise the Ja!
  9. For what it's worth, at the time of writing that I assumed Seeker to be an alignment scanner only. Pays to read the rules, go figure. (Not that I didn't, but I just went 'Tyrian, okay, I know that' and didn't give most of the roles a second glance from what I assumed they were.) I think I explained this later- I didn't trust the read my gut was giving nor the reasons my head came up to justify it. I think my view on Hyena now is similar to yours when you said "Reevaluate frequently, gut village". Their most recent posts give me far more of that than their first and I don't have them as 'Spiked' anymore. Getting further in your post I see you've gotten to that explanation. Agree to disagree, then. I fully understand how you look at that the way you do, but for me it boiled down to not trusting myself enough to commit, sort of like you said. It's not that I mind specifically being tied to Hyena, Gorilla, Chameleon, etc's flips, it's that I don't know if I want to see their flips in the first place. It's me taking the easy out by voting a Null. Having reread some of the posts I'm definitely more fine with voting a more prominent player, but my opinion remains largely the same. And I don't And it has been discussed to the death, and I don't want to rehash that discussion, but I will say that I don't find it useless for the same reasons Meerkat gave for looking at the peripherals. Sticking with my guns here. Praise the Ja!
  10. Su sniffed at the remark, but it had some truth to it. The truth was just severely misused. "I assure you, I am plenty well rested myself, praise the Ja." he said condescendingly. "If I can find enough time to sleep in between my priority of glorifying the Ja- praise the Ja- than you certainly can as well." If the count stays as close as it is for the next 10-11 hours it's likely I'll switch to Gorilla, Zebra, or Lion. I'm fine with any of those three, in that order. It depends on what the count is beforehand. I'd stay on Dingo in a 2-3 tie between Lion and Gorilla, but if it's between Gorilla and Axolotl I'd move to Gorilla. Those, of course, are random examples but I'm sure you get what I mean It's probably a bit of a controversial stance, but I'm staying where I feel the best staying unless someone I actively don't want to die has a chance of doing so. If it's still with Chameleon... I dunno. I need to figure out where I stand on them in reation to everyone else. What's that supposed to mean? Praise the Ja!
  11. Because absolutely everything about their posts scream village to me Their early reads were oddly specific for an elim to make, in my opinion, and their approach to solving (the + - reads list in particular) tonal feels very solid to me. Praise the Ja!
  12. Ah, I can sympathize with the gut problem. My head just doesn't sync with it; when I trust it, it's wrong, and when I don't, it's right. I guess that's why they're different. Understood, I respect your incorrect read And our slightly differing opinions. Praise the Ja!
  13. Never before in the history of the cosmere had an opinion changed as quickly as Su's did regarding the zealot before him. His blood boiled at the sound of someone chanting for the Ja's downfall, for calling the Ja evil. The Ja was eternal! The Ja could not and would not be brought down! The Ja was truth, light, clarity, purpose! Su took a breath to stop himself from lashing out, despite the steam pouring from his ears. He would show that the Ja brought piece of mind and control over one's emotions. But it was hard. Oh, it was so, so, hard. But even the deserving deserved a second chance. "Friend." Su forced himself to say, the lie scorching his tongue as it left. "By the Ja, I grant you a chance at forgiveness; praise the Ja." The calm tone which he forced himself to use was truly a chore. "In this the Ja will forgive you, and you can still be saved." I like and appreciate this, a lot. Though I think the part about you starting the post prior to learning your alignment is NAI. Wonder if we've played before. Time will tell! This does make more sense with a further explanation of the yellow. Don't be, it's my own interpretation of it. One I'm rethinking (as if I wasn't already, ha); this response has been very well put-together Praise the Ja!
  14. Su grinned. This one, they had a chance at exaltation. "Praise the Ja!" ~ Flamingo's post puts them solidly in Light Village for me. Their tone and level of commitment to their vote both seem pure. I haven't received any PMs If the Ja wills it, I suppose... sent a few though. Not enough. Praise the Ja!
  15. That's why I'm voting for a more Null read. I want to feel like I'm killing someone for a not made-up reason and mostly still don't feel good enough about my elim reads. It's like- "I read this semi-active person as elim, but not enough to kill them (yet), so I'll vote for someone less active with almost as much reason for me to kill them." Does that make more sense? It is odd, I'll give you that. But odd ≠ elim. Ja rules all! Praise the Ja! Su lifted his head towards the painful noise of blasphemy. "Who is this Trell who dares defy the Ja, the one true god, the divine, esteemed, Ja?" Su questioned. "PRAISE THE JA!" he screeched, for impact. It's definitely not out of reason. I plan to ISO them shortly (and the whole thread, really. I skimmed a bit while I made my reads list but mostly to confirm my memory concerning the inactives) and I'll let you know what I decide. I don't know whether I feel stronger about Hyena or Gorilla, since some of my worries about my perception of Hyena vanished once I made my own list. I could try to explain why, but frankly it'd be difficult, and that's not me trying to get out of reasoning. Praise the Ja!
  16. Reads (no particular order within any list): Village: Crocodile, Albatross Light Village: Meerkat, Penguin, Octopus, Ostrich, Scorpion Null: Everyone who hasn't posted (see below), Axolotl, Lion, Falcon, Dingo, Vulture, Beagle Light Spiked: Zebra, Iguana, Chameleon Spiked: Hyena, Gorilla People who haven't posted: Mouse, Dragonfly, Heron, Elephant, Toucan, Rhinoceros, Flamingo. It'd be great to hear from all of you. If you've posted, my apologies, but I don't remember. I don't feel great about my Hyena, Chameleon, Iguana, Scorpion, or Penguin reads but other than that I think it's about where I stand. Obviously I don't think the team is Zebra/Iguana/Chameleon/Hyena/Gorilla (I think there's 6 anyway) but that's just how D1 goes. Too many nulls and inactives to tell anything definite. I do actually think I feel the best today about killing someone in my Null category, which seems counterintuitive but there's something about anon games (*cough* lack of meta *cough*) that makes it especially difficult to pin down reads. (*cough* Praise the Ja *cough*) I'd like to develop them more before I kill someone who posts. I'm fine with any of my bottom five dying but I myself will likely vote one of my Nulls. The village and light village categories are of course off the table. That being said, I also don't want my vote to be uselessly on someone who hasn't posted at all. Out of the ones who have posted, Lion, Falcon and Beagle effectively haven't, so that leaves Axolotl (who out of the remaining Nulls I like the best due to their vote), Vulture, who seems to have a legitimate reason for their absence, and Dingo who as far as we've heard hasn't, and who posted thoughts that just mirrored thoughts already posted. Vote, as always, subject to change at EoD (love you GMs) but as of now that's where I feel best voting. Zebra also falls into the same category as Dingo but we're Jaist buddies so /shrug :D. Praise the Ja!
  17. May the Ja prove it so. Because I don't like how I settled on the read enough to actually want Hyena dead. I don't necessarily want Vulture dead either, but on D1 there's two kinds of votes. (Actually more than that, but you get what I mean.) I imagine it's similar to your read of the Iguana post you quoted there- not enough to vote here right now, but definitely something to note and watch. My lack of elim reads is silly since I criticized Hyena for the exact same thing, and that's partially why I don't really trust my e!Hyena read and why I want to reread. I didn't take that into account since I didn't see Penguin's vote until after I had already decided not to vote for Hyena, because of how I was reading/replying to the thread. I did vote Vulture to add pressure, so that was in response to the vote they already had. Praise the Ja!
  18. Su sniffed. Some clearly had a laxer opinion on the appropriate devoutness Ja- "Praise the Ja!", he blurted, drawing a few stares- deserved. But then again, as Su looked around at the other non-Jaist Tyrian folk, he supposed that his drunk friend was the only other person with a chance to be saved. "Praise the Ja!" Su exclaimed, overcome with emotion. "For the Ja is known unto me, and the Ja is great! Oh, may the Ja grant me many more days so I may worship the Ja once more!" The glances Su received from the others had no influence on him. He knew they only stared in their ignorance. By praising the Ja, perhaps they would see the light. Hmm, alright. I supposed I asked for that. I mean, mathematically speaking if you pick someone at random and claim, they are more likely to be village. (Don't do this. It's a terrible idea.) It's always fascinating to me to see who defers to the color versus the animal when naming players... is this just a fancy way of saying I'm a null read for you? Praise the Ja!
  19. Fifth-style multiquote time! Promise I'm not evil :eyes: Checks for white text It saved your font this time. Praise the Ja! I mean, yeah, and I think whether it's 5, 6, or 7 will become clearer as people start dying. We can develop better guesses once we see what roles are out there since we can make deductions on what roles would counter or go alongside those. So yes, it's important to have a consensus on when exlo is but we definitely don't need to come to that consensus today. And in the end, knowing it's exlo doesn't really change any of our behaviors since we're all just trying to find elims every day. ...True, I had forgotten. That's funny. I like this read. You have earned one whole (1) Village Point! I do want to village read you for this whole sequence seeing as I nearly voted Iguana myself (but thought better of it) so I understand where you're coming from and sympathize with trying to spark discussion. However this exact thing happened with Tuatara last anon game (not the AG) and they were elim so I'm hesitant to chalk it up right away. Often more capable; may the Ja help us all. In my opinion, if you think you would have done something exactly the same as someone else did it that's enough of a reason for a D1 village read. Considering you mentioned them in multiple times in your reads of other players I think it's weird you don't have a read on them. I hate that I read your post as elim because of the way it was constructed, but here we are. I'm not a fan of the single elim read you have either, it seems rather weak. Normally when making a huge list like that there's more than one red name on it- and yes, I know that we're barely 12 hours into D1 but that alone might be the reason for my read of your post. Now to decide whether to village read you for having the exact thoughts as me. I did just say that this should be grounds for a D1 village read, but then again I wasn't going to vote Hyena right now. I'd actually ascribe a non-committal tone to a villager this early (unless an elim is putting teammates low down the list, and Hyena had nearly no one low down the list). That is technically defending Hyena, but I didn't get the same vibe from their post. ~ Like the amount of content from the night. Right now I'd say my strongest village reads are Crocodile and Iguana, and my strongest elim read is Hyena. I could probably make a list akin to Hyena's if people wanted, and maybe I should anyway since it'd help me figure out where I stand myself. Though I'll join Meerkat on Amber Vulture right now. Praise the Ja!
  20. To be honest, this is my favorite take on the elim numbers so far. Best if we don't get hung up on finding an exact answer until we've killed them all >:) Gave me a chuckle. Good post. And a rocking pfp! (The puns are in full force in the thread tonight...) Good job, non-community member! Praise the Ja!
  21. ...This took me far too long to understand. By the Ja. I understand, and agree with the distribution you present in general, because as you said, it's standard. I'd be surprised if the elims all have roles, to be honest, but who knows. The elims do I guess. I toyed with voting Iguana in my first post as well but ultimately dismissed it seeing that they'd obviously done their homework in a way that wouldn't have been possible to do in the amount of time they hypothetically get their Spiked role PM. So I'm immediately both skeptical and understanding of this. I suspect Chameleon village-slipped by calling the Seeker a powerful role (since it is most definitely a powerful role to the village) though they easily could have stuck that in as an elim, knowingly. Occam's Razor suggests it was just the wording they typed, and my own experience tells me that including Seeker in that list would be natural for a villager or a spiked. Hmm. My quoting ruined your fancy text. Sorry about that. I find it interesting that you assume 7; that seems high to me. I'm in the camp of guessing 6 as a comfortable estimate. It's also interesting you don't just assume what you find to be most likely. I do like the rest of your distribution thoughts though and in this case 'interesting' does not mean 'elimmy' By the Ja, every time I finish a response someone else says something and I need to add to this ever-growing post... keep it up though, love to see it! I definitely don't think they have a Coinshot though they could have a Mistborn. If your assumption is correct, (that being 6 elims if one of them is a power role and 7 if one of them isn't) then I'd far sooner guess they have a Thug over a Mistborn/Coinshot Praise the Ja!
  22. Su ignored the rumors of the advancing Koloss. Regardless of the fate the Ja had in mind for everyone else- "Praise the Ja!" he whispered, compelled beyond choice. Su normally lost his train of thought when he did this, but for the Ja it was worth it. Where was he... oh yes. Regardless of the fate the Ja had in mind for everyone else, Su felt assured by the knowledge that his devotion to the Ja would be enough to save him. "Praise the Ja." Still, he felt it was his duty as a townsfolk to give the Ja's two cents on this whole deal, so he sat himself up from his meditation corner and strode into the sun, praising the Ja the whole way. Hey, hey! Liking my new avatar, very nice. Agree with the assumption of 5-6 Spiked. I don't agree with the assumption that the roles present here are similar/the same to LG74, however; Kasimir was in a specific GMing mood with that distribution (not a bad thing) and the excessive Smokers were likely unique to that game. It is worth noting that Iguana cited the Smokers as the thing to go, however that would open up spots for other roles which would then affect the roles already present, etc, etc, so I don't see the distro being role-for-role identical by any means. Then again, Iguana just said 'largely similar' and there are after all only like six roles so maybe this whole discussion is pointless :D. I'm expecting one (1) village Seeker. Again, I don't really see a reason that our GMs would pick Kas' most recent Tyrian distro as the one to mirror as opposed to the OG ones, if they're mirroring one at all. Then again I don't know what the distros for those early early games were. Praise the Ja!
  23. I am just reading them as i see it. You could have conveyed the same tone while still pressuring them or explaining why you were confused.
  24. Different posts have different levels of ping for me. I don't care that yoube chosen to "dismiss" the allegations against you by saying it is your "formality", because there are plenty of ways you could have maintained that formality while still caring. "Consider me....confused" is a post that is made because you felt obligated to make it, and not just rp. It felt not only forced, but in the end indifferent. I'm sticking with this one. My votes are neither random nor chaotic. Dingo was to see what happened, and then i moved to rhino, my top suspicion. In my "posts of note" you should see my questioning of the Albatross read, so not voting there shouldn't be a surprise for me.
