Anniversary Game 8 / AN11: Back to Beginnings
Coral Swan replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I do like revisiting Gorilla as a counter train, too. Meerkat’s point about them viewing the thread/retracting is valid, and everything else I’ve mentioned before on them still stands as well. Praise the Ja! -

^^^^^^^^ xD It’s cool. I think it’s amazing my random PtJ helped with this even if it was not in the way I first assumed it did… *applause* Praise the Ja! Edit: Meerkat. Forgot to do that :P. @Elbereth Praise the Ja! -

That is what Falcon is saying It was, see one of El's tags. (Chance this is a joke from your end, in that case ignore this ) xD stop being helpful it's distracting I definitely need to recheck this and will certainly need to reread the thread with this new perspective but my initial reaction was thinking this reflected positively on Chameleon. Since just about everyone had the opposite thought I'm probably wrong here. In what? They are openwolfing, so I believe them too? Me being evil works just fine :P. Praise the Ja! -

Ooo good catch. Confirms my assumption anyway (hi hyena ) but it is nice to know. That's fine, I didn't do anything on purpose :P. I mean, this is fair from your PoV. From mine it's just funny. I didn't fool Meerkat in PMs, Meerkat fooled themselves. Apparently my last-minute 'Praise the Ja!' at the end of N2 spooked them into thinking I had scanned them once they saw the Tineye message today, and that in turn spooked the gut-reaction claim. Meanwhile there's me who just thought it'd be funny to have Su get the last word... Meerkat PMd me trying to figure out how I knew to scan them, and I responded because I was confused. Because I didn't scan them :P. That likely won't make... a lot of sense to you because Meerkat still coulda faked confusion at that point. My only argument to that is this would be a heck of a weird lie to make ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Alternatively Meerkat could have just assumed they were dead anyway and wanted to bring me down with them, but I think it makes sense that they just kinda posted without thinking. ...But it's an elim anyway? So what's the problem? Lol Edit: Oh that was furthering your post right before it. Ok. I read them out of order :P. Praise the Ja! -

Other misc things: Only one Tineye message technically implies 3 Mistborn that all rolled Tin independent of each other N1 which is such a small likelihood that it can't be true (and PMs are open). So from N1 we have Octo (who may or may not have sent that message, we'll see next cycle depending on if we get one in that style again), the Mistborn claim, and two more. One of which is Tineye because PMs are open and the other who is also likely a Tineye because probability but could also be Mistborn. I said 'other misc things' but I meant 'other misc thing', apparently. Praise the Ja! -

They also just slipped to me in PMs, thinking I was the Seeker/Tineye or whatever (which I'm not). A villager wouldn't fake an elim slip in a one-on-one PM. Or ever. One of El's tags says that both kills hit Octo. Praise the Ja! -

Salmon Meerkat. To be clear. I am going to have quite the analysis ahead of me. So much PMs and long posts. Someone has to do it, and we need something to talk about this turn... would like some help though multiple opinions on this would be nice because man I never would have caught Meerkat :P. (Right, to avoid confusion, I'm not the Tineye or Seeker there but whoever it is sure is having fun pretending they're me) Really rethinking this game now ~Anyway, sad that the inactivity filter killed our extra life. Of all the roles to get one-shot. I guess that's the trade off for the red check? :P. Will have to decide if that makes Alb more or less likely to be evil, later. Because. The fact that Meerkat responded the way that they did makes me think that it's legitimate. Praise the Ja! -

Those are also the same points I brought up last cycle after I voted you, to which you had a different reaction. Lowkey reading this as e/e but I’m not going to put a lot of stock into that read because of its weak nature. I’m not especially reading Penguin as village unlike apparently most of the thread so I think this is something in the realm of possibility. For what it’s worth, I am currently (and unexpectedly) in a different time zone than I was in for D1/N1. Praise the Ja! -

I see, that makes sense. I still think it's funny that I have no recollection of mirroring Octo's vote pattern, but obviously that means nothing to you. Praise the Ja! -

And there's no manip besides the expected one from Iguana. Guess the elims didn't feel like messing with it (assuming the elims have manip, which I think is pretty fair to guess) and considering how crazy EoD was I don't think it's outlandish to say that reflects good on Octopus and maybe Flamingo and Albatross. They're the ones who would have been up as secondary trains with ~an hour left and it was pretty close; I think an elim would have manipped away. That being said, depending on how close our hypothetical Spiked manipper was watching at EoD they could have had it set and cancelled it last-minute. That's the thing about speculation; it's a rabbit-hole that only goes deeper the more you think about it. What do you all think is the most likely option? Praise the Ja! -

Why am I not surprised. Twice that's happened now .-. I guess the difference this time is I turned around on Iguana instead of trusting them from the beginning, like I did Croc. Will analyze the votes on Iguana because there is definitely something useful there. I appreciate the pun tribute to Iguana in the PM reminder (and in the writeup), thanks GMs But @Elbereth @Fifth Scholar could you add the VC? As I say this you're probably editing it in, sorry to ping you :P. Praise the Ja! -

I mean, sure. And I can say I don't agree with your reasons for voting Iguana, and we're going in circles so I'll just agree with you I'm aware of that, and also completely disregarding that. Tbh I don't remember even interacting with Octo at all so it's funny that you're hedging your vote on preflipping me I'm so confused Praise the Ja? -

You somehow missed the post where I voted Gorilla and the one after, which were like the two main ones I was talking about. Gorilla posted: And I replied And then further elaborated: That help? That was at the beginning of the cycle. Now it is the end of the cycle. I don't have the same opinion. Octopus. Will go back to Flamingo happily but I don't want Iguana or Albatross to die. Too late. @Emerald Falcon Iguana claiming there makes perfect sense to me for either alignment. It's real close, more people have shown interest in voting them, and they don't want to die. Do you mean this one? With that post in mind I comfortably read Heron as Null+. (I don't know if 'moved up' for you means more village or more elim, lol). Beagle is a Do Not Kill for two reasons; first, I give them a point for being the first to call me out for voting a Null D1, as opposed to all the people who just followed that. I also liked their long post from the start of the cycle. I haven't figured out what I feel about their latest vote, and that's fine since the Do Not Kill was just for today. Scorpion's placement there is mainly that I don't see what we'd get out of their flip at the moment, and that I gut read them as village. Axl I also pretty strongly read as village (I could find a post or two of theirs of why but don't really have that kind of time.) Elephant's single post felt villagery to me and there obviously isn't anything we could go off of after their flip. Again, that tier list wasn't a reads list though reads did (obviously) impact it. The paragraph under the spoiler box of you explaining my question makes sense, thanks. Don't agree, but thanks anyway I definitely have explained it and I don't particularly want to find and link the posts where I did. They're the posts I voted Gorilla both cycles and the ones surrounding those, pages 2-3 this turn and idk D1, I'm sure you can find it. They're there. Have you said why exactly you suspect Iguana? ^I can second this lol How do you feel about the Flamingo/Alb trains? Praise the Ja! -

I’ve actually read the posts on this page now, look at me :D. (Edit: smh of course this is on a new page.) I don’t like how fast the Iguana votes piled up. Hyena’s post looks to me like it has a slight case of confirmation bias; it’s well constructed but I think if they can write Gorilla off for playstyle they definitely could see Iguana’s behavior as playstyle as well- especially since Iguana has explained their playstyle and Gorilla hasn’t. @Charcoal Hyena, you responded to my Gorilla vote last cycle, what do you think of my reasoning for my Gorilla vote this cycle? Beagle’s vote is hard to read as anything but a pile-on to me but I do have them as Null+/Light village from earlier so I dunno. And I do like Iguana’s post just now, in the same way I liked Alb’s from earlier. Gorilla, Flamingo. Not because Gorilla isn’t the person I want to exe the most, but because Flamingo is the the person I want to exe the most out of the available options. If everyone wants to switch to Gorilla I’ll join you :P. I wouldn’t be opposed to Octo either, definitely prefer them over Iguana at this point. Praise the Ja! -

You’d have to ask the people actually voting them, but I personally think their voting pattern has been weird and I generally get a negative gut from their posts (with the exception of their first post). I’ve explained why I trust Alb probably twice; I’d go to page two to find that Praise the Ja! -

thank u In all honesty I barely skimmed the recent posts- as I bluetexted yesterday I suddenly got a lot less time to do the game. Sorry. Iguana is fine. I’m staying on Gorilla for now because that is where I feel most comfortable. I’m kind of tempted to vote Flamingo in the interest of further saving Alb though. Praise the Ja! -

That’s just me and Su (and Zebra). Go to the coppermind and search ‘Jaism’, or read the cosmetic role list El provided on the first post of the game. Alternatively you can ask Su but I’d advise against that unless you legitimately want to be converted. (Not that he’s succeed in converting you if you didn’t want to be, just that you won’t be able to handle him if you ask without wanting to be.) Rest if your post looks good I think I would ascribe zero percent probability to this tbh, regardless of Meerkat’s alignment I find it funny how you’re the second person to theorize me/Gorilla as both elims. That makes zero sense to me. I guess technically you never said that you think we’re teammates, so you could view it as how I view you and Gorilla. Praise the Ja! -

It's understandable, but it's also a convenient thing for elims to do and confbaising reads and reasoning into existence isn't a good look regardless. You are... awfully flip-floppy on me, my friend What differentiates them for me is Vulture's playstyle being NAI, and to put Vulture on the same level as Meerkat and Hyena (who I village read not for effort but for reasons beyond that) would just be an effort clear and I don't want to make just an effort clear. Yes, that is what it's saying, and yes, that is a large list, but that's why the bottom half is two categories and not one. And it includes the inactives, who I doubt anyone would actively be upset if one died though they'd also be no one's first choice. I appreciate you complimenting my strategizing skills, but no, I didn't think far enough ahead to try to produce a list that would make the thread uncoordinated. I'm aware that my list isn't going to dictate the flow of the thread, I fail to see how it could be destructively 'uncoordinated'. It's my subjective opinion mostly fueled by how my gut reacts to imagining their death and nothing else. Ah there it is lol Take out the inactives in my list and you have a pool of 7. Perfect, according to your guidelines. Something unexpected just came up, very fast. My activity will probably drop over the next few days but I'll still be able to play. Praise the Ja!
