Mid-Range Game 30/Anonymous Game 2: - Scadrian Black Ops
Coral Swan replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Welp, that's a big punch. You know what, I'm feeling a Weasel vote, I'll dig through their posts later and see if there's anything more to it. Numbered because whew there's a lot to go through here, I guess. And numbered with Roman Numerals because I want to look sophisticated and intellectual, I guess. (I), what's up guys I'm also thinking of throwing a vote on Dragonfly so let's add that to people to go through. (II) I missed this sentence when deleting stuff from the post and don't wanna change all the other numbers so this is staying. (III), I don't think this can really be said when we don't have all of the information so can't conclusively say what things are like on the other side of 'the fence', where their description for their alignment is probably pretty weird and specific but they just so happen to be coloured green because I don't know yet, maybe their's an alignment scanner or something which just returns 'The scanned individual is green' or whatever. But yeah, unless you're an Informant then ya don't know it all so who knows. Maybe everyone is coloured green this game as a test? Good ol blackout games. (IV), If there was a swap, then I'd say kudos to them for swapping and then doing a bunch of shenanigans though hopefully it's going to be harder for them to do that if everyone keeps talking and doing their own little verbal tics that would be hard for any potential swapper to duplicate, like if a potential Kandra wants me then guess what enjoy writing massive posts. (V) I'm starting to feel like no-one read my post about the whole Falcon lynch and how in retrospect it looks like I was pretty spot on, so yeah I'm not writing another thing about that when I already had thanks. If you wanna read it, here it is. Feel free to read Past-Swan agreeing with Current-Swan. (VI) Not being defended by anyone isn't really a mark of being Village, sorry. Like, if someone votes me and no-one defends me it doesn't mean you should trust me or anything, just that no-one thinks I'm worth defending or that the elims aren't going to straight away be like 'oh no my friend' or even that people just want to see some self-defense. Plenty of options, none that really lead to trusting them. (VII) Gut feeling is good, if I can trust your gut. Which I don't know about, so maybe I have to look at you too. Hey here's a post from last cycle. Also I was gonna say stuff relating to Vulture's latest post but ngl I got a bit annoyed reading it so we ain't engaging in emotional discourse. If you feel like this post ain't saying much, it's cause I said most of it last cycle. -

First, Falcon themselves are speculating, which I imagine is not because their role is Jester-like (as has been suggested) because that would not lead to elims wanting to kill them, and would mean that they can't be doing stuff like this because honestly lynching neutrals at a time like this just seems like a bit of a waste. Could elaborate more on this etc etc but I honestly feel like this is a wasted discussion. If they reveal their role, they are 100% dead. If the role is one that will get them lynched, then the reveal will kill them and the cycle is basically wasted on getting rid of a neutral. If the role is one that will get them elim-killed, then the reveal will also kill them because the elims get to kill whoever they want to. In fact, they're probably discussing in their doc about whether they should do it right now just in case of the latter, in which case none of y'all are helping their case. Again, let's try to keep some information private and make life difficult for the elims, everybody. Yes I bolded that 'cause it's that important deal with it. This is a possible conclusion, but actually when I read it over you haven't made a conclusion about what their role is, just that you don't like it. So going from what they've said, here's what has been said: In their first notable post, they outlined their belief that there is a refugee faction and another faction that possibly relates to the refugees in some way, with other factions such as the elims and a kandra. They then claimed to not be a refugee. Then say they cannot talk about their faction, because it could kill them. Clarify that they are not neutral. Either elim or village would want them dead if revealed. That's what to work with. So now let me present to you what immediately pops out to me when looking at this stuff. First, Falcon clearly mentions that it is their faction that could kill them, or at least their role within the supposed faction. So let's run with that, and say that there is a third faction alongside the refugees and the possible elims, which also coincides with their first post. Crazy that, right? It's consistent. What's that, they also said that they are not neutral almost like they're in a faction that maybe has a win condition possibly relating to something like either eliminating the kandra or some other kind of nonsense that we don't know about yet because it's only C2. Could be they're working against a fourth faction specifically while the refugees have to go against that fourth faction and also the elims at the same time or some other nonsense. Either way, I don't think their goal is to harm any refugees in any way, because this claim is just way too early for such a thing. If it is, then kudos to them 'cause they've fooled me, but I think it's legit. What is funny is that Vulture for most of Page 2 seems to be sympathising with Vulture while at the same time hopping on the bandwagon. That's a bold play my friend, and pretty toxic. Also reading over your posts, you seem almost certain that there's a body-swap mechanic when it's almost the opposite, in that I'm pretty sure there isn't one because body-swapping would be a massive pain when GMing, and Seonid specifically mentions role-swapping instead of account-swapping or anything like that. You know what, I'm willing to say Amber Vulture. There's been a lot of stuff about you both during C1 and if I remember correctly the first few posts of C2 as well. I don't like this lynch on Falcon and I'm willing to suggest a swap to you, so let's go people. -

Honestly everyone voting on Falcon is suspicious rn. Pretty busy right now but don't have time to articulate but shouldn't waste time on lynching a neutral that is also gonna be viewed suspiciously by the elims when in fact we should instead be finding say idk the elims. Anyway I'll counter-bandwagon one of you and bring out all yer trash if ya keep this up. Fear the Swan or something. -

Emerald Falcon. Being 'that guy' is always worth honestly. Wasn't the suspicious part of that post though, but it's pretty clear to me that Falcon is either third-party or an elim. In case they're a third-party, I'm not gonna that guy who goes after the neutrals because oh no they could help the elims or anything like that. Just gonna assume they're a helpful neutral and not gonna go on a killing spree or anything. But if there is one, then ya know. -

Many of you may not know this, but Swans are famously capable of logical reasoning, and are fully capable of making arguments and referencing what others have said in the past. I myself am not sure if other animals are capable of such a thing, but we will have to wait and see. First thing to address is that I do not appreciate the speed at which people started bandwagoning, mostly because I was asleep. I'll go over that later though, as eventually the bandwagon shifted away from me (never official votes but it was there) but was still annoying to wake up to. Now the thing that is most notable during C1 but cannot be talked about during C1 as you cannot give the game away is obviously role names. Within the blackout scenario that we are in, no-one 'officially' knows the names of any other roles. While they're guessable, you can never be sure until someone with that role has died. As such, you do wanna be a little bit subtle with name-dropping, something that Albatross did give up but it was near the end and is forgivable as they are kinda dead. Thus, I present to you, the refuge tracker: Mouse: RP - 1, OOC - Crocodile: RP - 2, OOC - Swan (Me): RP - 2 Dragonfly: RP - 1, OOC - Albatross: RP - 0, OOC - 1 (Italicised) Weasel: Reacts to Albatross directly but doesn't say it, still worth noting. The RP distinction is also important, for two reasons. One is to remind everyone that Swan is still in character thank you very much and the other is because the RP setting is such that one could refer to refugees without implicating that it is the default village role. If I was awake during the end of C1, I likely would have done something similar to Weasel, who I'm willing to soft-clear seeing as they react very clearly and quickly to Albatross' name drop. Tis only a soft clear though, no-one go trusting them or anything now. Obviously, there's likely more people that knew that refugee was the default role but weren't willing to name-drop either through not thinking of it (which is fair) or not willing to name-drop and potentially be really obvious (also very fair). However now that a refugee has died, no-one needs to worry about that stuff anymore. Also of note is that the refuge tracker was indeed just tracking the word refuge, to include both refuge and refugee. Otherwise my hints wouldn't really be in there, 'cause I was saying stuff like 'let's make this a nice refuge' and all which just sounds weird outside of it being a reference to the role. The tracker shall now be discontinued, but I just want everyone to read it or maybe even go over C1 again trying to look for more interpretations of various posts. For example, this puts the bandwagoning that nearly started near the end of the cycle in a different light. For Weasel, it no longer looks like he was randomly trusting Albatross by trying to kill someone else, but was instead reacting to the refugee implication so could trust him more clearly and openly. All in all, it's fair for Weasel. Also means that the elims aren't likely to kill him because Weasel is a default role most likely. Or the other option is indeed that they are an Elim and their win condition is to kill or outnumber the refugees so knows the role from that. Soft-clear, folks. Dingo, you might as well claim your role at this point. You're not a default villager, and if I was the elims that'd be enough for me to say bye-bye to all dingos on the ship. They also might be scared of words and go after me, but that's good for everyone so I don't have to worry about that. Not much else to say really, already feel like I'm writing too much compared to everyone else, you know? Knowing that the village is colour-coded green isn't really something that's specific to this game, sadly. I can't really think of any game that hasn't had a village coloured green, but I'm also gonna throw out there that you most likely have a role as well, so feel free to do whatever. Spent a while writing this, gonna let y'all react to what's in it so far. Also yes, my identity is obvious at this point why hide it? Ah well, you'd be correct in guessing that yes I am actually a Swan as the name suggests. -

Seeing as I am becoming somewhat of a Storyteller (though not a Bard), I thought that I should also ask everyone else if they are keen for any other tales, either made on the spot or retold through the lens of something that I oddly want to describe as Sanderson Elimination, though that name does seem to have no reason for it. -------------------------------- OOC: That single line segment has given me away to someone if I'm not given away yet. Also that Bard part is a pun, please don't miss it. Also also please follow request before Swan gets bored in-universe. -

Swan recalls staying in character for most of this thread so far, but does not understand whatever this RP thing is. Why be someone else when one can be the Swan? You know, I've always been a fan of Weasels myself. I hope our relations will not sour anymore after this. It is the first day upon this new refuge, so I am fairly sure that most votes will appear to be like that. -

^ Swan recalls the intent of having the discussion about D1 lynches stop before it even starts with a minority of the thread as they will always happen regardless. Swan does not like the bringing back of the D1 lynch discussion. Swan votes for Indigo Weasel. Swan thinks that you are twisting the words of the Swan, which should definitely be a crime. -

I was an ugly duckling once, though I'm sure many of you know of my origin story. It's a tale known for years, with many valid interpretations. As the once-ugly duckling, I learnt the lesson to always persevere through situations no matter the size or shape of opposition and you will eventually get your reward. Some of you may be sitting there in your animal-like ways, wondering why exactly a Swan is writing this. But my interpretation can be applied to this game, in that I would like to remind everyone to keep looking for clues and to always be on guard, which is much easier without PMs hanging over us. Do we know the size of the opposition? No, but it's either 2 or 3. Do we know the shape of them? No, but it's probably an independent as well as elims. So you see, this ugly village will become a beautiful safe refuge for all other animals throughout the land. Though the part of the story where I became Coral is less known, and I intend to keep it that way. Mostly because I do not want this ship to also be Coral, because that is my shtick thank you very much. Thank you one and all for listening to me, Coral Swan -

Wow, 6 votes in 60 minutes has got to be some kind of record for stating my honest opinion. Does nobody else find it weird that Beagle and Albatross picked up on such a small thing to swing the vote, with so little time left in the day for a possible response? I'm probably totally wrong here, so when I flip village, don't go lynching Beagle or Flamingo or Albatross just for my sake. But I believe that it was a valid opinion and that it deserved to be brought up by somebody. I also think my vote on Flamingo was a much more honest move than @Opal Lion's vote on me here, or all the people that have decided to hang back and not be helpful this cycle. If I give Gecko a 5/10 on the scale of who's an elim, and Flamingo a 4/10, am I not justified to lynch Flamingo when a Gecko lynch seems impossible? If everyone was actually voting then it's possible that someone might agree with me and we could lynch Gecko. But that's not the case, so I had to settle for second best. Which I guess nobody here is cool with.- 1054 replies

Current vote tally: Chameleon (1): Beagle, Axolotl Gecko (1): Swan, Kanga Flamingo (4): Weasel, Rhino, Beagle, Lion, Swan Rhino (0): Beagle Weasel (1): Scorpion Heron (1): Dragonfly Albatross (0): Toucan Toucan (1): Albatross Tuatara (1): Elephant Axolotl (2): Beagle, Albatross I'm going to put my vote on Flamingo. Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like Beagle and Albatross are trying to switch the lynch off of Flamingo, and taking advantage of a fairly minor statement to do so. While I am definitely suspicious of Axolotl, I think that it is a legitimate question to ask why someone is emphasizing a tie for second place in the lynch rather than the current leader. I read that vote as a sort of poke vote, since it specifically asked for an explanation. I would rather lynch Taupe for not giving us the analysis they promised, but nobody else seems willing to buy that and if Flamingo flips elim this will give us a good place to go next.- 1054 replies

I'd wager that the elim distribution is similar to the villager one; some active and some lurker. There could even be some elims that are totally inactive, since they never would have seen their role. I've been on an elim team with inactive/low active players enough to not discount the possibility.- 1054 replies

@Violet Axolotl I'm not really looking for a further explanation from you about D1. I agree that there isn't much to go on during the first day, but the way you went about things makes me suspicious of you. I'd rather hear you say who you would prefer to lynch this cycle and why. I'd be down to lynch pretty much anyone I mentioned in my post, but I had to pick somebody to vote on, so I chose Taupe. The only people I'd really be wary about lynching right now are the ones contributing legitimate analysis to the thread, since if they end up being elims then all of their content will be useful if we do get around to lynching them.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Coral Swan replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
A notice was found pinned to the front of the Thoughtful Skyeel reading: Some of you have expressed concerns about my silence and that of others on the matter of the murder. Well, yesterday most people had wrapped up their business for the week and had plenty of time to talk. But if we don't do the practical things necessary to keep this town running then it will fall apart regardless of whether we catch the murderers running around. Of the people that voted on me, I am most suspicious of Taupe Gecko, and secondly of Violet Axolotl. Neither of them really gave any justification behind their vote or suggested how their vote might be helpful to the village. Salmon's vote and explanation felt weird, but I ultimately agree with their rationale for voting for me, and I honestly would have been fine dying last cycle as a result. Zebra's vote on me felt pretty natural and a legitimate attempt to try and solve the game. I'm a little concerned that Jai and Nolan (Beagle and Dragonfly) tried to divert the lynch away from me. Jai did send me a PM, but the lynch was off of me by the time I got around to responding, and I've had no private communication with Nolan. I'm not entirely sure why they trusted me enough to save me. Actually, Aldrick (@Emerald Falcon) looks like they were trying to defend me as well: It's not anything that justifies a vote, because I was contributing a lot and still plan to, but I have my eye on these players. Looking through last cycle, I'm concerned about @Cream Tuatara, @Fuchsia Ostrich, @Amethyst Scorpion, @Magenta Albatross, and @Turquoise Gorilla. Just briefly it seemed to me that all of them were lurking and none made any comments about the lynch between myself and Dingo, even to say that they didn't think their own vote was necessary. I'd like to hear some analysis of the lynch last cycle, what your thoughts are on the three players that defended me and the four that voted for me. Or something else if you think it is more important. My vote is going on Taupe Gecko for now, because I'm not really sure my suspicion of them can be explained away. However, I'd also like to hear your opinion of the things I've mentioned in this post.- 1054 replies

Coral Swan replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The thing is, we have to "shoot a gun into a crowd." At the start, the village is acting randomly, while the elims aren't. That means that we should eventually be able to find a pattern and kill the actual elims. I'm not going to vote to lynch you just because you were part of a bandwagon on a villager. Being squeamish about killing people looks very similar to being noncommittal though, so I might vote to lynch you for not participating in a "bandwagon to kill an innocent villager." Sorry for not getting around to voting tonight. I will say that I'm leaning villager on Salmon.- 1054 replies

Felon as in a person that commits a felony. It's pronounced the same as melon. Elyle sighed as he looked over the damage to his inn. Thanks to the quick response of the townsfolk, and the fact that most of the inn was soulcast stone, there han't been too much harm done. However, each incident like this would scare away future patrons. He decided he needed to fix the damage before doing anything else. With some help, he could have it fixed up in a couple hours and then get back to the work of saving the town.- 1054 replies
