Anniversary Game 5/Anonymous Game 4: One Final Blaze of Light
Coral Swan replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
For the record, while it somewhat pains me to make the choice, I'm not RP'ing so that no one gets extra clues to my identity. It's entirely possible it'll be guessed anyway, but why make it simpler?- 1226 replies

Aspect is I believe the word, and I assume you're right and that it's probably part of their win con. They likely need an active aspect on each Shardworld? And yes, let's be less boring and have some kills please?- 1226 replies

It's actually entirely possible there was an attack that was blocked and that we just won't see that in the write-ups. GMs, are ya'll willing to confirm if blocked/protected attacks would show in the write-ups?- 1226 replies

I’m more inclined to trust Toucan’s claim now, after Joe’s announcement, and it should be noted that all faction win cons end the game, but the rules say nothing about individual win cons.- 1226 replies

Hullo, everybody. Just checking in. Not much to say, other than I don't like this talk of neutrality, but I haven't familiarized myself with the rules enough to be 100% on a side on why I think Toucan is claiming it. I'll try and do that and then weigh in.- 1226 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Coral Swan replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@SE_Drunk_Beggar I know the Heralds are involved somehow because my wincon says I have to keep the Heralds alive because they’re important. That’s a bit screwed, since Venli killed Nalan, but I’m still going to stick with it.- 1062 replies

@SE_Ialai_Sadeas my win con is to keep the Heralds alive. I told @SE_Kelek last turn about this in our PM. Along those lines, I Protected Beggar last turn. I have no idea how to start or stop the Desolation, but I know it has to do with the Heralds somehow (good or bad).- 1062 replies

Adolin, you seem to be casting doubt on the women’s circle for their association with the traitor Asuedan. I wouldn’t be so critical, since Asuedan had been quite convincing (even I was caught unaware). I understand your paranoia, though. As for me, with the death of Amaram I am sadly cut off from the Sons, rendering that wincon null and void. However, I am focusing my current efforts on protecting the Heralds, if anyone would like to assist me.- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Coral Swan replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The palace shuddered, the sturdy stone pillars groaning, forming an awful harmony with the shrieking wind, rising rapidly in pitch. The dark night grew darker, threatening to snuff out the stormlight of the gemstones. The corridors filled with writhing shadow, filling them with darkness as quick as water in a chasm during a storm. Tearim clutched his Blade tightly, gritting his teeth against the horrid screeching of the terrible wind. The vaporous night swirled around the hall, circling like vultures. "Quick! We have to finish it now!" Brightness Navani shouted, her voice nearly engulfed by the dark maelstrom. The massive fabrial she had been constructing was nearly complete, almost every slot filled with a gemstone. Tearim shivered. Truly, the Final Desolation has come. He felt death near. This was a fear rooted deep in his chest, unlike any danger he had experienced on the field of battle, watching the tip of a Shardblade pass mere inches from his face, seeing his fellow soldiers collapse and die. This was a Voidbringer, an Unmade, a demon from the deepest pits of Damnation. And it would kill him. For once, his salvation was out of his hands.- 1062 replies

Tearim looked at Brightness Navani. Strap Shardblades to that? “Brightness, the boy is right. If you haven’t seen him with a blade anytime lately, he knows what he’s talking about. If you think that we can use our Blades to slay the Voidbringer, then I believe it would be best to keep them with our best duelists.”- 1062 replies

What about Jasnah? I'm not sure if she was fully bonded to Ivory yet... could we make that happen? Because then we would have both a somewhat learned individual on the subject with a living shardblade (or whatever Ivory wants to be). But yes, we could find the honorblade and hope that works.- 1062 replies

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Coral Swan replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Thunder boomed, the hallmark of a coming highstorm. Highstorms are no uncommon occurrence for Alethkar, however the stormwardens hadn’t predicted one tonight. Or tomorrow for that matter. With these thoughts running through his mind, Tearim rushes up the palace stairs. All but disgraced, faced with the death of King Gavilar on his watch and his failure to solve any of the other murders, Tearim was left with only his most loyal guards. Half of the Cobalt Guard denounced him after Gavilar died and joined Elhokar, and the rest no longer trusted him. Tearim didn’t blame them; he would have done the same. But they would see. Gavilar’s assassin wasn’t gone yet, and he would find them and bring justice to the throne! As he neared the top of the stairs, he heard voices. Silently, he motioned for the guards to stop. ”He’s King now, after all.” Asuedan. What was she—That traitorous wench! Already summoning his Shardblade, Tearim rushed forwards, but found Adolin already over the once-queen’s body, her eyes smoking. “Well,” Tearim muttered, “I suppose that is done.” But something stopped him from dismissing his Blade. Were those... crystals jutting from Asuedan’s corpse? Brightness Navani was there suddenly, at Adolin’s side. Tearim only understood one thing: Voidbringer. The Final Desolation has come, just as Gavilar had warned.- 1062 replies

Tearim averted his eyes as the guards tried to pry Brightlord Adolin from his brother's body. It had been much easier to remove Restares' from the hall. He grabbed a glass of violet wine from a passing servant, who was as shaken as everyone else. As he attempted to drink, it slipped from his shaking hand and shattered on the floor. It was all going to pieces, storm it all. He couldn't discern any pattern or reason for the murders. It wasn't even the act of a single criminal! He rubbed his temples, oblivious to the servant sweeping the glass shards at his feet.- 1062 replies

Tearim rushed to the source of the scream, only to find half the guests crowded around two prone bodies, one bloodied. He pushed through to the front and leaned over to inspect the bodies. One was Brightlord Sadeas, slain by a dagger. The other, he quickly realized, was just a very frightened servant, who he helped to her feet. Tearim turned to the assembled group. "This is has gone too far," he declared. "The murderer, or murderers, will be found. The guard will be extra vigilant, and I suggest that you refrain from suspicious activity. Now shoo. There's nothing more to see here." As the people began to slowly shuffle away, a pair of guards rushed in. Tearim instructed them to move the brightlord's body to a more respectable place.- 1062 replies

A contingent of guards burst into the room, led by Tearim. The crowd parted and Tearim turned to face them as the guards surrounded the corpse. "Nobody panic!" Tearim declared. However, his words seemed to have no effect, for the room was soon roaring with voices, some of reason, others of hysteria. Tearim simply rubbed his head and directed the guards to dispose of the body.- 1062 replies

The clamor in the dining hall was reaching new heights. The Parshendi were humming nervously, in their weird rhythms. Wit seemed to be considering throwing the glass of violet in his hand. Tearim decided that now, if at all, it was time to step in. "Excuse me! Would everyone please calm down." The noise lessened a little. "It seems, that despite my best efforts, some of you can't help but try to kill each other." Tearim scanned the assembled nobility. "Let's not descend into a mob this early in the night, shall we? Brightness @SE_Aesudan_Kholin, I heard your name called. Please explain."- 1062 replies

Tearim watched Brightness Navani leave. She had wanted some smalltalk, but that was not Tearim's job tonight. It was, very simply, to protect the king and ensure the safety of the meeting tonight. Perhaps the concept was simple, but executing it? That was a chasm he'd have to cross when he got to it.- 1062 replies

Tearim tsked. Quite a busy night for the guard. Ha. Busy? Busy doesn't even begin to describe trying to secure a palace while two different nations, one not even human, meet? Not to mention the wine, the drunks, the shady looks... He sighed. It would be a long night indeed.- 1062 replies
