  1. While the hamster and OA were arguing, Nogard hopped back to check on Shoe.
  2. "Wait!" said Nogard urgently. "Where is Shoe?"
  3. "Whoa!" said Nogard, pausing in his stride. "Why so angry?"
  4. Nogard shook his head. "You'll have to ask Shoe about that." "Fair enough!" agreed Nogard, beginning to walk. "Exercise is healthy, after all."
  5. "Well," said Nogard rallyingly, "shall we set off? Perhaps OA can portal us over?"
  6. The rain ended abruptly, in a single flash. With the newly cleared skies, the enormous mountain was revealed. "Ah," said Nogard. "That mountain."
  7. "Well, if you need help getting out, uh, wriggle violently."
  8. "The mountain, eh? Which mountain?" Nogard looked at Shoe with slight concern. "Er... Do you need help?"
  9. "Well, there you go!" said Nogard. "Let's go find that rabbit. Now, where did you last see her?"
  10. "Well," said Nogard, glad to have an excuse to change the subject, "we did just finish a quest. I'm open to a new one. Shoe, what do you think, should we try to find her rabbit?"
  11. "Ah," said Nogard. "It's... a curse on my home. Kind of a long story. It's not a big deal."
  12. "Nice to meet you, Sandy. What brings you to around these parts?"
  13. "Well, no, but I make it a goal to at least keep the option of friendship open towards everyone. And to be frank, names are pretty useful even amongst people who aren't friends. I mean, without a name you'd just be 'that dude with a staff.' What if some other dude with a staff comes along?"
  14. "Well, you can't be friends with someone without having a name for them, can you? I have the names of all these people- that's Shoe, that's Jilu, that's Aero, that's Hrank, that's the Once-Author..." Nogard continued to deliberately ignore Woe as best as he could. @SpiritOfWrath, that is a cool pfp, especially if you made it yourself! Nogard frowned. The old man had not yet returned to confirm the end of the quest. He hoped nothing had happened to them.
  15. "Huh. Must be nice." Nogard rallied himself. Best not to be too impolite to strangers. "Hello. My name's Nogard. What's yours?"
  16. "I very much doubt it was that bunny. Unless Qodi was leading quite the double life." "Well, I'm cold and wet and it's raining, for one. What, does the rain not bother you?"
  17. "All... this." Erif gestured generally. "What have you accomplished? Obtaining a spear you don't know how to use? Rebuilding a rabbit bridge? How is any of this supposed to help break the curse?" Nogard shuffled his feet. "I..." He swallowed. For some reason, the words wouldn't come out. Erif shook his head, disgusted, and walked away. The rain continued to fall. Nogard sighed. "You wouldn't happen to have an umbrella, would you?"
  18. Nogard carefully held in a sigh of relief and shot Shoe a grateful glance. Nogard frowned. "I don't understand what you mean." The rain was now strong enough to make it hard to see further than a few feet in front of you. Nogard squinted at the figure approaching. "Hello!" he called. "Do I know you?"
  19. Fair enough, so have I The rain began to noticeably intensify.
  20. Nope :P. Erif surveyed the scene, his expression unamused. "This is the best you can do, brother? Really?"
