Xino slowed as he approached the strange beast. The blasts from his sword were leaving marks on this thing’s armored skin, but it didn’t seem to be too bothered by them. Even the burns he had landed on one of the wings had given it no more than brief pause. This creature would have to be defeated by more than just fire. Unfortunately, the creature sensed his approach. It took to the air, rapidly soaring up to beyond the reach of his sword. He came to a stop, eyeing it carefully as it circled above him. He shot a few more blasts at it, for good measure, but they were no more effective than the previous ones had been. Time for a different approach. He crouched down, getting a good position on the hilly ground, then jumped. He shot upwards like an arrow, sword held straight out in front of him. He reached the beast easily, his sword passing straight through one of his wings and provoking a hiss from one of the monster’s hideous mouths. Good, he thought. He grabbed the injured wing and pulled, hauling himself up onto the Origin’s back. The creature struggled against him, whipping the tail around and trying to shake him off. He swung his sword in retaliation, cutting off the tail in one stroke. The beast let out a horrible scream. It beat its wings, but without the stability of the tail could not keep airborne. It veered off to one side, plummeting towards the ground. Xino jumped off the beast as it fell. He landed with two feet, shaking the earth and sending cracks running through the hard stone ground. He stood up from his crouch, sword held ready to face the fallen creature.

Enolc paused and looked back at the man. "I'm fine. I... I think." He smiled tiredly. "Thanks for asking." All of a sudden, the ship tilted, the bow dropping down as the ship began to sink into the whirlpool. Enolc held the railing for balance as the pitch of the ship increased. @Element of Chaos @I think I am here. @Dr. Dapper @Mr Mafia

Xino climbed off wearyingly, eyeing the giant scorpion thing. Of course they would add monsters while he was sleeping. Time zones were horrible things. Oh well. Another challenge was always good. He waved at Roadwalker. That was a cool sword, even if diamond wasn't exactly the strongest material for building weapons. Then he turned and charged the Origin, sword flashing as he shot blast after blast at it.

Xino charged the creature, firing blasts from his sword. The spider hissed as the fire landed, spitting up more silk to bandage the burns. As he watched, the silk soaked into the wound, replacing the burnt skin. Interesting. Well, there was no time to be worrying about that right now. The spider had gone back to hurling threads at him, much faster than before. They stuck to the ground around his stone feet, threatening to trip him up again. He slashed through them all, burning them with red fire. This spider backed up again, hissing, but it wasn’t fast enough. He hurled himself across the final quarter mile or so and landed on its back, his sword flashing a deep fiery red. The spider bucked back and forth, trying to shake off its unwanted rider. But he held on, cutting and slashing at its toughened skin. With one final stroke, he impaled it. It jerked a few more times, then fell still.

Xino surveyed the field, unimpressed. He raised his sword, pointing it at one of the enemies. Red light burst from the blade, shooting across the field. The targeted monster was illuminated from within for a brief second before the light destroyed it, along with all those near it. He pointed his sword elsewhere, releasing more bolts. The dark enemies fell in droves as they were extinguished by the light. He grunted. This was all? This was easy. For horrible, world-ending monsters, they sure weren’t very powerful. Suddenly, something struck his arm, dragging him and flipping him over. His hard stone head smacked against the ground, sending a tremor through the earth. He gave a cry and struck out backwards, at whatever thing had grabbed him. His sword sheared through a thick strand of something sticky. What in the world…? Another thread soon followed the first, and then another, sticking his arm and leg against the ground. He sheared through those threads as he had the first. He jumped to his feet, and nearly got knocked over by another strand of the stuff. Where was all of this coming from? Another thread flew at him, but this time he was ready. He activated his sword, destroying it completely in a burst of red fire. A loud screech of pain split the air. He turned his gaze towards the sound, trying to determine what had made it. A giant spider scuttled backwards behind him, recovering from the burn it had received from his blast. As he watched, it spat up some silk and bandaged the wound. He smiled. Finally, a challenge.

I sure hope not. It seems like that would not be good for us. If we're outnumbered, they can just bandwagon and destroy us. That's why the game ends when the elims outnumber the village. Unless there's an ability that prevents that from happening?

Xino shot up towards the giant. It stood in a strong, firm, pose. It held its sword with two hands, ready to strike down any who would harm the ones it defended. He slowed as he approached the chest. A large rune of some sort had been carved in the center, over where the heart would be. He reached out and let his fingers brush across it. Lines of power rippled across the surface from the point of contact, spreading across the whole figure. A network of some sort, much like blood vessels or nerves. Interesting. He looked upwards, into the sapphire eyes. Then he smiled. The flames that tossed across his skin began to ripple faster and faster. He felt the power saturating his physical form, ripping at it, trying to destroy it. And then, in an instant, it did. He exploded outwards in waves of fire, no longer constrained by the form of humanity he had created. He floated there for a moment, free, as he reoriented himself. Then he reached forth a tendril of flame and touched the heartrune. The flames flew in faster than the eye could see, filling the vessels of the statue with power. The statue shook slightly as the new power took control, but did not resist. A second later, the eyes of the statue bled to a deep, fiery red. The features contorted in a grimace as they rearranged themselves to suit their new master. Then they smiled. “Wᴇ ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ ᴏᴜɢʜᴛ ᴛᴏ ɢᴇᴛ ɢᴏɪɴɢ,” said the statue, in a voice that shook the sky itself. “Wᴇ ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ɢᴀɪɴ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ʙʏ ᴡᴀɪᴛɪɴɢ ʜᴇʀᴇ.”

Flames exploded from Xino's body, wrapping him in a cloak of flickering orange and yellow. The castle vibrated even more fiercely. Then the walls began to melt and shift. Xino raised his hands, flames spiraling from marks that had appeared on his skin. With a shudder, the castle twisted on itself. Stone grated on stone as it folded up and out. “Do you know why this castle heals itself, Astral? Because it’s alive. It’s sentient. And it wants to defend itself.” He snapped. Flames burst outwards from his fingers, racing over the walls. With one final jerk, the castle stood up. It towered over the figures below, staring at them with deep sapphire eyes. In its hand, it held a sword, bigger than all of them put together. It opened its mouth and roared, a horrendous sound that shook the earth itself.

Xino smiled. The ground began to shake. The walls of the castle began to vibrate. Xino began to glow, an inner flame shining through his skin. "Do you want an epic battle? That can be provided."

Tom jumped forwards, ramming the key into Fantastic. He vanished. A second later he reappeared, this time behind Tom. He pointed at him, intending to zap him away. Tom pulled up the key. Fantastic's bolt hit it. There was an explosion, and both were knocked to the ground. Tom stood back up, growling. "You will pay, Fantastic! What you have done cannot be excused."

Xino sighed. “Now, what were you saying? I believe you were going to tell me how exactly I brought up Fallen?” He threw a vial to Narrator Shadow. In it was a thick red liquid.

So, a personification of the city? A being, named "Roshek" that represents the city itself?

Xino's eyes were now completely on fire. "Yes. A worthy story. This one is not.The Narrators cannot fall to our own creations. It is impossible.” He shook his head. "You may accept it, but I cannot.”

Xino looked at him with a flat stare. He sighed. "I want you to know something, Shadows. This is important, so listen closely. All this- all of it- was created by us. Every last person, creature, or idea. The very idea of Narrators is tied to things that exist in the real world. The real real world, the one where these ideas spring from. We may be but reflections of superior beings. But we are still powerful. Far more powerful then any of our creations. We don't have to obey any rules. Anything we can imagine, we can create." Xino stood up. Fire flashed in his eyes- not metaphorically, but literally, as though a candle had been lit deep within. "I follow some rules, but I don't have to follow them. I choose to follow them, because they make the story better. And I don't see any reason why I should follow your rules." He began to float, a few inches above the ground.

What about things related to the city itself? One thing common to the people that live there is that they live there. They're going to have beliefs in the city that are going to do something, at least. Conflicting beliefs are still transferring energy. Not to mention statues, which almost anyone who sees will personify. That's just something that people do.

Xino took a sip. It tasted like a combination of black licorice and chocolate. Not alcoholic, I see. Good. He shrugged. "It just seemed natural, I guess. He was broken, both by what you did and what I did."

Xino shook his head internally, amused. Dapper really didn't need all of that nonsense, did he? They weren't even on a Narratorial plane, whatever that was. He nodded thoughtfully. "An interesting debate, that. It was more of a joint effort, I believe, although I suppose I would get final say." He took one of the seats at the table, looking around. "It is nice, though. Fantastic likes his castles in top condition."
