  1. All they needed was a long, well Narrated quest in order to get their last cube of Narrativium.
  2. Ghanderflaffles in TLT had been created to wield Narrativium.
  3. "Is that where the meeting is?" asked Neil hopefully. @Sherlock Holmes
  4. Narrativium was hard to use- practically impossible, in fact. The mimes could do it, though.
  5. Draug's vision swam with the effort of holding the wave back, but even so he could still see that he was doing some good. The worst of the wave was going to the sides, leaving the girl in a much shallower area. But he couldn't hold the wave back for much longer. Already it was beginning to slip. "Attack it!" he cried out between gritted teeth. "Push it back! Otherwise-" He broke off in a groan, the wave slipping another inch. @Dr. Dapper
  6. Mimes got their Narrativium as payment for fixing the fourth wall, so if Zeoy became a mime...
  7. In order to obtain it, you had to complete some worthy Narration.
  8. Decided to go get another cube, so he could destroy them. This would not be a simple task, however.
  9. He was pretty mad when he found out, especially given that the mimes had their own Narrativium.
  10. They paid him 1 cube of Narrativium for his services.
  11. Rekaerb slowly put his hand down, embarrassed. "I can't remember," he muttered. He'd forgotten- the others didn't know exactly what had happened yet. He didn't really know either, which was why he was asking, but he probably knew more than they did. He couldn't say, however. He'd promised to keep stuff that he learned from Narrator-sense to himself. At least it won't be a problem going forward, he thought gloomily. In retrospect, he should have expected that Xinoehp would remove his 'unfair advantage'. It still hurt, though, to not know what was going on except through his own eyes and ears. I guess I really am expected to be a character now. The idea made him feel light-headed. He'd never really been a character before, only a sort of... extra. Even in the Well of Descension plot, he hadn't really done anything. He'd just been there. He was excited for this new change, but nervous at the same time. He might have a chance to actually get involved, to change the world- but only might. If he couldn't get involved here, right now, he might not ever get involved. He couldn't see a way to insert himself into the plot yet, but he was certain the chance would come up eventually. And when it did, he had to be ready to grab it.
  12. The bullet sank a few inches into his side before stopping. A couple of drops of shadow-acid dripped from the wound, leaving a couple of dents in the floor, and the wound sealed over.
  13. Deep in the temple of xinoehp512, in the most sacred chamber, a man knelt in prayer. It was a prayer of forgiveness- although not for anything he himself had done. While Rekaerb Seven may be just the same as any other Rekaerb, he had rebelled against the wishes of the group in joining the DA. Of course, his god did not see it that way. Or so he gathered from the fact that communication between here and the Mountain had gone silent. He'd been here for nearly twenty-four hours straight, now, and so far he hadn't received so much as an impression. "Great Xinoehp above," he whispered, "Narrator of Worlds, Avatar of Dreams and of Silence, Firstborn of the Author. On this day, as high priest, I beg you hear my plea..." But even as he said the words, he knew it was pointless. If he hadn't gotten an answer by now, he would never get one. If his heartfelt pleas for mercy earlier had produced nothing, the words of supplication he had learned certainly wouldn't be enough. And yet, he still prayed, repeating over and over the words he had been taught. He still knelt here in this sacred place, calling out to a god that would not respond. And, even against all reason, he still hoped. He finished the words of his most recent prayer, the ending rolling off his tongue just the same as the hundreds that had come before. "...in the name of all that is, and all that is not, this is my prayer." But instead of starting the next prayer, he paused. Something felt... off. His Narrator senses had disappeared when Xinoehp had stopped speaking to him, but now... Suddenly, one of his clones saw something. Then another did. Then two more. His eyes widened as he saw through a multitude of eyes the blue fog descending on the city. Xinoehp, he thought desperately. If there was a time I needed you more, it's now... ------ Daa watched through the window of the tavern in dread as the blue haze settled onto the city. Whatever that is, it's not good. He sent an alarm through to Kii, although her owner would probably notice soon enough. Along with it he sent what he had found studying the city. Hopefully she'd be able to use what he'd found to figure out who was responsible. @Sherlock Holmes
  14. Draug felt the bottom drop out of his stomach as he fell forwards through the darkness. Falling, falling… and then- Draug felt the world form around him again. It felt blurrier, somehow, as though parts of it weren’t as defined. In front of him was the girl from the airport (he’d forgotten her name) and a scary-looking giant blue humanoid, whom she was fighting. I’ve landed in her dream, he thought. He hadn’t expected that. Although, to be honest, he hadn’t really known what to expect. He’d been too caught up in panic to expect anything. Sha-thoexis- that’s right. She was going to attack soon. She’d tear through this poor girl’s mind like it was cotton candy unless he stopped her. He pushed himself to his feet and ran towards the fighting pair, waving his hands and shouting to get attention. But just as he began to call out words of warning, he felt it; the pressure on the mind that warned of an incoming attack. The scene began to waver in front of him as his usual perception of his mental battles began to take hold, the surroundings beginning to become sandier, the sky cloudier. “Hey!” he cried out, finally managing to get his mouth to form words. “Look out! I-” At that moment, Sha-thoexis hit. Draug cried out as a wave exploded through him and rushed towards the defenseless figure farther ahead. He felt the water surround him completely, wrapping him in its cold, dark embrace. But it was different this time. Before, he’d been fighting her in his own mind. But now… now he was inside her mind, somehow. There were implications there, but he didn’t have time to think about them. The important part was that the whispers- although he could still hear them- weren’t attacking him. He gritted his teeth and pulled, trying to hold back the wave. It was difficult- tremendously so- but as he did it, he could see the wave parting in front of him, leaving a “safe zone” of sorts for the girl. It wouldn’t protect her completely. But hopefully it would be enough. @Dr. Dapper
  15. Unlike handerfles, which have snake tails instead of feet.
