  1. Neil followed quietly, briefly wondering at Zokora's strange behavior but not saying a word.

  5. The man shrugged. "I only visited them once. What I saw, though..." he turned his head to look at the fallen groom. "It looked almost exactly like this."

  7. Or so they thought. In reality, they had only escaped into Reality S. Because news had come that Silence had returned.

  9. Samika cocked her head slightly, then smiled, posture relaxing slightly. "Is that an offer of assistance?" As the boat approached the giant ship above, a fleet of smaller escort ships flew out to meet them. A light lit up on one of the room's many dashboards, and a pleasant voice began to speak. "Welcome home, Cloud Nine. How may we assist you?"
  10. Silence's eyes widened. He moved his mouth, but no sound came out. As the lightning zigzagged across his form, he stumbled backwards into the portal. In a flash of violet flame, man, portal and all vanished into nothingness. -- Xino took a deep breath and blew it out slowly, heart rate slowly calming. "So, that's done," he said, trying hard to keep the tremor out of his voice. "What now?"

  12. Silence hesitated, sadness creeping into his eyes. Oh, Star... If you only knew how very sorry I was. Xino's eyes widened as his brain processed the scene. "Star? Star, what are you doing?"

Like some strange wave-particle from the realms of the infinitesimal, he transitioned from a state of non-existence to existence without anyone noticing how it was done. "I have been there," he said softly. "And more places, besides. Places with beings who are both character and Author, tale-weaver and tale-woven. Narrators, they are called." He bowed his head slightly. "Beings, also, who can kill the immortal, destroy the unbreakable, Silence that which cannot be silenced... and who will, if given reason."
