    What do you mean? Writers are different, so of course the rules are different. It doesn't mean that they can't share an underlying, unifying set of rules. I already wish this discussion had never happened... The still-as-of-yet unnamed man shrugged. "Like I said, I've only seen one man ever do anything like this before."

    Of course Apollyon was a character. We are all characters, just... some more than others. If his Author wanted to kill him, there's nothing we can do about that. "They shouldn't," said the man, frowning. "As long as the Narrative energy exists to sustain them..."

    Samika smiled. “A good choice.” The boat flew smoothly into the docking bay, something engaging in the side to lock it into the larger ship. The screens on the ceiling in wall went dark, and the background hum of the engines quieted to silence. "Well," said Tom simply. "We're here." He moved to the door and unlocked it, stepping out onto what had been the deck of the ship. "Your rooms are this way," he called back over his shoulder. "We'll stop there first."

    The boat drifted to the ground, extending a ramp of glowing light to the feet of the returning travelers. Tom appeared at the top of the bridge, grinning. "You made it! Good job. You didn't have too much trouble, I hope?"

    That's the thread of the conversation as I've followed it. But you could, because you are her author. Capitalized or not. It's true that, in a sense, you and Ene the character are the same person, just like how two versions of someone in alternate realities are in a sense the same person. However, the two of you have different experiences, different memories, and even potentially different personalities. In that sense, you are different people. The two perspectives are not mutually exclusive.
