  1. All of a sudden, like a light switch flipping off, everything disappeared. Mythos was left floating in an empty void. A moment later, a tearing sensation. Mythos felt his powers surge, rushing up and exploding out of him in a ball of light- and then they were gone. Do not return, a voice commanded. With that, Mythos was sent back to where he came from.

  11. After an hour or so, Grace put away her notebook. "I'm going to go scout out the building," she announced.
  12. They seemed quite tough to break. They were tightening every moment.

  14. Grace flipped to the fire page in her notebook and began studying.

She vanished. -- Grace opened her eyes in a cavern. Relatively small, dimly lit. Home. Various items lay scattered on the floor. She walked over to one of them, a heavy stone pot about half as tall as she was, etched with archaic symbols. She pulled out the vial that had contained the antidote and inspected it. Satisfied, she placed the vial in the jar, took out her healing ointment, and poured some in. The white liquid vaporized as it entered the pot, and the vial began to slowly refill. Satisfied, she snatched a notebook from off of a table, closed her eyes, and remembered again. An alleywank, dank with despair and desperation. She reappeared.
  17. "But why bother to make the deal at all? What do they gain from it?"
  18. "I figured as much," Grace replied drily. "But... she would know that, right?"
  19. "What was all that about?" asked Grace. "She wanted to trade the serum for... you agreeing to stop fighting? What is she going to do if you don't?"
